    Running out of calptrops is slow though, it does have an effect on runners (unless its different from the blaster caltrops), but its not really a big trap or anything. Fly is unaffected by caltrops (except by caltrops' damage which is some sorta damage aura).

    Then again one speed boost is enough to help runners escape caltrops easily afaik.

    edit: hmm that build is nice.. I have a claws/nin myself and I have big trouble trying to fit everything in by lvl 30 (sirens call). Instead of caltrops you might want to consider stealth or grant invisibility (which will make you a liked person among stalkers) On the other hand, if you don't have caltrops then tp foe is even less of an use..
  2. There was a sirens call event in EU once not too long ago, wasnt there? Iirc there were so many people that 'lag was horrible'. I don't see this is a problem of lack of players, but more of the hardware and game..

    Constant damage buff of that magnitude could easily go overpowered. ALthough saying that, if it was made to affect only the primary (not the mines etc), maybe something like that could be possible. Damage buff to TD would be one of the most powerful (practically possible) changes that I have heard of so far, not a bad idea MaX.

    Nope. Lag will cause you 'rubberband' regardless what travelpower you use. Only solution to that would be a better connection or pc if its graphical lag.. Problem with teleport is, it is extremely diffcult to chase someone with it. And because I view blasters as aggressive damagedealers, you would be doing that a lot. Teleport on a stalker maybe, but fly+tp might be too difficult to navigate with a blaster.

    Well it's all your decision. At this point I'd say the only important thing is the powersets you choose because they cannot be changed afterwards. You can complete respec trials and receive at least 3 respecs(not counting possible free respecs awarded in the future) with which to change powers and slottings afterwards within those powersets if you are unsatisfied.
    You have chosen ice/energy which is collectively perceived one of the strongest powerset combos for a pvp blaster. Thats fine for now, now get lvling

  11. This was one of the smoothest raids I have been on so far, I just want to thank everyone. I remember people being flabbergasted in the TS when everybody _indeed_ left the bubble after Magus asked it once. Must have been a first! .

    Thanks to White magus and Xanthus for leadership, all of the heal team (this time I didnt die once!), PDs, War Man for targeting, Archy, gen 2 and all other PA droppers, Plight Trawler for the GM killing team too! That GM killing team was a nice addition and took some weight off our backs
  12. Its is a perfectly valid strategy. TP is the best power to escape and the only travel power than can never be suppressed.

    Nope, but when suppressed fly works just as slow as hover. So you will still remain airborne but any 'evasive maneuvers' are the tough part.

    (Unless someone hits you with a -fly power in which case you will drop like a rock)

    Yes there is, Fusion generator, but I don't know its unlock mechanism. It was something fishy and Im sure somebody knows about it. Try searching US forums maybe.

    Practise has shown that theres a whole lotta things to cause -fly and completely negate fly. Therefore you should at least have one other travel power as a backup.

    Secondly, whenever you attack, a travelpower (superjump, superspeed or fly) will become suppressed for about 2 seconds. During this time you move very slowly (superjump doesnt work at all). In practise it is imo very difficult to 'move about' with fly and keep attacking the enemy with ranged attacks. Fly is ok, but it does have weak points. Not to mention it will always be the slowest of travelpowers.

    Things to take into consideration: snow storm causes -fly and -speed which will negate fly and superspeed but not jump (snow storm is also autohit targeted toggle and main reason I respecced fly away from my PvP blaster). Web grenade causes -fly and -jump but not -speed so you can still superspeed away freely.

    To utilize so-called unsuppressed movement, jumping about with combat jumping and well-slotted hurdle has proven to be best. Neither of these suffers from the travel power suppression that the 'normal' travel powers got. I heartily recommend getting hurdle (prerequisite to stamina anyway) and 3-slotting it no matter what travel power you decide on.

    Nope but your endurance will be decreasing steadily if you dont have stamina even if you just run around.. It is THAT much of a drain. When ran in conjunction of SS, hide and possibly CJ. Not even counting def shields. With def shields on top of that you'd be out of end by the time you reached talos park from villain base.

    Close? lol. How many times did you actually die? I know I managed to kill healing touch only once.. You got like 21 kills and the other teams something like 7 a piece at best..

    My GvE box is on its way and I'm planning my first Hero. My Favourite AT in CoV is the Brute, so a Tanker seems like a good choice. Probably a Ice/SS/Nrg

    Now, I would like some suggestions. I'm experienced with Brutes, but their job is to keep fighting so they get better and better. And the Tanker, AFAIK, is about staying alive while the Scrapper deals the damage. Am I wrong?

    And what about Taunt? Is it really necessary? Sometimes in CoV a Brute plays the role of a Tanker, but all we do is to jump first into the group of mobs. Can I use the same strategy?

    If you like brutes then you'd propably feel more at home with scrappers as opposed to tankers..
  22. Actually I think devices is good only for easy kills in sirens lvl range. I dont think its all that awesome higher up and its quite bad in arena. If you want a more all-around pvp character go with /energy or /elec.
  23. You have similar build as my claws/nin, problem is the lack of vertical movement and lack of stamina. You can still PvP with it as those are more like quality-of-life issues. I would put 3 end reduxes into invisibility though if you intend to use it. It is a massive end hog.
  24. Yes, even with EM you'll want assassin strike earlier, preferably at lvl 6. I don't think slotting resilience is worth it. Its mainly in there for disorient resistance. Integration is very very important.

    Essentially the power choices are ok but the ordering may need some work. Plus the PPP pet is propably not worth it.
