    Most people don't want to end up dead and the def shields do little apart from draining end until they are properly slotted with SOs and need to have them all. Thats the part of the game I was referring to, before you get all that. Plus SR gets no selfheal so the situation can become terminal more easily.

    Most of the time regens go around on the power of fast healing, integration and quick recovery which are just as auto.

    PS. The only ever character I wanted to play but couldnt and deleted it was a SR scrapper. This happened before the def scale change though, so forgive me if Im being overly cautious and take my words with a grain of salt.
  3. Super reflexes can be daunting in PVE play the first half of the game especially if you havent played scrappers before. Ultimately it will be good but requires more careful play than others. I recommend any other secondary for a starting scrapper. The primary doesnt matter that much, pick one that you like.

    Since my main has war mace, flares look ok in comparison.. At least in the early game.

    Ill troller with recall friend,super invis and deceive is a wanted man for doing cavern of transcendence Not to mention a good ghoster later on too, apparently the only one who can attack without breaking stealth (deceive).
  7. Yup. Main uses:
    Combat jumping = vertical jump height,immob resistance and air control
    Hurdle = Horizontal jump length and no air control without CJ or SJ.
  8. It is just easier to implement certain tactics to utilize certain AT/character strengths in the arena.. heroVsVillain tactics you could in theory used in Recluses victory as well.. Except they arent as crucial in zones as in Arena match. Without teamwork and premeditated tactics you have no chance against a proper PvP team in arena.

    High lvl heroVsHero tactics can't be used anywhere but arena since heroes can't fight each other anywhere else..

    Quite frankly I have found zones to be so devoid of challenge I don't play there with my blaster anymore (my main PvP character), if only the villains would stop leaving the zone after I beat them couple times..

    Im not sure about height but slots in hurdle give awful lot of forward jump length. I know cause I need hurdle a lot in PvP. However, hurdle gives no air-control.

    [/ QUOTE ]It always does damage if it hits. The damage is in no way related to fall damage, no foe would take even NEARLY that kinda damage numbers from falling from sucha low height. The damage is inflicted by the power hitting, it just hasfew second delay befor applying the damage.

    Oh, and yes, levitate and lift are pretty much the same.

    I tested this and you're right, however no damage numbers that I could see appear above the PvP enemy if hes not KD:ed.. well.. And of course combat channel will say "you lift x into air and pummel him to the ground for y damage" no matter what... I managed to do 36 damage on a scrapper in sirens call with my levitate.. Not beating scrappers anytime soon..

    I guess it comes down to the question why does a certain player PvP. Arena can provide an enviroment that is more or less equal for players, whereas for precisely opposite reason Zones may be 'fun' to play in. (AND of course the only way for lvl 50 heroes to fight each other is in arena..)

    The reason certain people stick to arenas is because zones offer no challenges for a proper pvp team. It wouldn't be that way if there would be enough players in the zone, but with the EU player amounts Im afraid thats a fact we must face.

    We need some pvp team to 'challenge' the rest of server saying they will 'take over the pvp zone at this and this time and date'. I think we'd see proper action then. (Unfortunately some other people would frown at this because they'd think it is 'self-promotion' whereas actually it would just be a way to get a challenging fight..)

    ps. Xan just doesnt see its worth the trouble trying to explain this to people.. Nobody is blinder than the person who doesnt wish to see.. etc.

    PPs. Arena is a tool for people to find out what really works against what. People who are interested at this are what Xan refers to as 'good' pvpers.

    Ninjitsu gets a selfheal which imo is identical to reconstruction. They don't get dull pain, though.

    ps. So far I have met very very few defenses that I can't bypass with my blapper (Im not entirely sure have I met any at all but I can't remember so I state my words carefully..) so I wouldn't worry about that one.

    Slight clarification, have a chance to cause knockback or disorient. Only stun and Total focus have 100% chance for disorient (TF has a slight chance for additional disorient). For bonesmasher the disorient chance is roughly 50% and for energy punch 25%. Similarly only power push has 100% chance for knockback and the others have less of a chance.

    And it's not Fly that helps against Knockback (though it does provide a bit of help) it's Hover that does so. With Hover active you'll just spin quickly in place once instead of being tossed back several yards and then have to stand up.

    Actually fly is just about as good. Air superiority is actually a Melee attack and possibly the best power pool attack at that.

    Acrobatics is by far the best protection against knockback and it is not very costly endurance-wise.

    Do drains work?

    I agree with Max here, HP drains are taken for their secondary effect rather than damage. I also agree that heroes can do endurance drain better. Cov kinetics get transference sooo late as well..
  15. Current 25% increase in prestige-earning has not made much of a dent.. Its ok in the sense that at least I'm not worrying about paying rent atm.. but Im not dreaming about secure rooms either..

    Acc enhancements arent as effective. Aim and yellows equal toHit buffs.

  20. But you can put more people on the other, weaker side, and suddenly the situation is more balanced, even if the characters themselves arent.. The possibility of dynamic balance is what I like in Zone PvP (granted, it doesnt happen that often, but im ready to switch sides to the weaker side whenever possible and needed)

    One reason why I wouldn't want to play there. If everybody had identical toons then the world would be a boring place. Im sure its not that bad in there but the whole idea compels me.

    This is a big pile of..*frantically tries to think something not covered by filter*..fiddlesticks.

    My blaster for instance has just 4 powers from primary and I wouldve taken all but one powers from secondary if I couldve fitted them in. There are tons of ways to build characters which is what I specifically like about this game.

    It is true though that an empath who hasnt concentrated on his/her primary is unlikely to get much understanding from teammates. But that is a different story compared to whether such character would be a valid build.

    Not to mention player's reluctance to organise arena events or even fights below lvl 47-50. Not everybody is friend to a PLing group. I have seen insane amounts of people in the PvP zones who I have never seen at arena, or even talk at arena channel. And I mean people who fight, not PvE in those zones. I see majority of these people as 'casual PvPers' and these are the ones who we should organise events for.

    Imo PvP zone events would be better in the sense that most of the time spent in an arena tourney are spent waiting and chatting. Or observing in which case you cant chat outside teamspeak. In the zones everybody could participate instantly. Although there are weak points in zone pvping as well.

    Too bad the game can't handle big zone events.. Although I hear that US pvp zones would have that many people most of the time..?
