If you want to drop toggles, hit thru your targets mez protection with something suitable.

I think MoG is still the weakest of the scrapper 9th tier powers in its current state.

Dark Armour tier 9: Soul Transfer (self res)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, a power with which you can one-shot stun the recluses victory signature villains is surely underpowered
  3. I think stamina is pretty much a must for dominators because they are spamming so many holds and stuff.

I have a lvl 28 mind/energy dominator atm and I use just bonesmasher and total focus from the secondary. I had power blast earlier but I respecced it away because it's negligible damage. Power bolt is obviously even weaker, but I must take it. The damage output is bearable atm and I can easily solo missions on relatively low difficulty(propably higher one as well) now that I got Terrify. I recommend leaving total domination until later with mind doms because its duration/recharge will cause problems. Terrify is 10 times better than total domination straight out of the box, especially with power boost I will get all AoEs save mass hypno for my dom eventually.
  4. Im not sure if there is a buff, but as far as I know the animation of psionic dart (or mental blast cant remember) will be fixed so it is much faster and more in line with other sets.

Personally I think that energy is good for power boost and decent melee attacks. Those who know psionic can tell about that set. Power boosts ability to double your mez durations for a moment is nothing to scoff at though.

I took MoG and didn't get on with whatsoever, always seemed to get mullered (and thats not fighting psi foes etc..), so I respec'd it out for shockwave, much better power imho.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think you really have to slot it to the soft def cap for it to be effective. It is unfortunate that there are so many psi enemies in the late PvE game, but overall MoG can be a nice panic button in PvE. (note that if you are close to dying MoG can actually heal you as it sets your hp bar to certain amount ). I think MoG is still the weakest of the scrapper 9th tier powers in its current state.
  6. Im definitely in, but in what team and what kind of toon I dont know yet.

There’s no such personal property in the base. We thought (on paper) that the “personal items” would do the trick, but it isn’t really the same thing, is it?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, to reflect what a US player said, the said "personal items" stop being personal items after they are placed. After they are placed, they are in the control of the basebuilder, who usually is just one person completely in control of the base.

Personal items use control and energy which means that more often than not, placing them is actually a negative thing. There is no such thing as a collective storage of personal items, where they would not eat energy or control and would be nonfunctional.

Related to this, if some SGmember makes, say "generator power curtain" and places it to the base. It is very likely that the basebuilder will say "Why did you do that without my permission, now we dont have enough energy to run telepads. I have to delete this." Then *poof* salvage and work done by the SGmember goes up in air. Ie. the personal items have too big connection to the function of the whole base to be allowed free placement.

Overall it falls back to the situation where all progress in base is controlled by one person, the nominated basebuilder. This takes away all the 'individual customisation' that people would like to see. Majority of members are just there to churn prestige without ever having any say over the base.

Actually the bases are very enjoyable to customize, BUT ONLY BY ONE OR AT BEST FEW PERSONS.

I say the only way to add more 'individuality' is to create personal rooms for players within which they could edit the contents of the room but not the whole base. The other option would be the allowance to create one-person bases, 'flats'. And do so without leaving the main SG. OR third way: Make editing rights more detailed. One rank to create and delete rooms, and one rank who only can change the contents. One rank who can delete salvage items. Possibility to divide the base into areas of different color and assign editing rights to those areas individually.

PS. I am the nominated basebuilder of the Goonies supergroup, who have a base of some 10 rooms, supercomputer, turbine generator etc. So I do have insight into how enjoyable it is to customize a base. I want to point out that 95% of the supergroup don't get to do the same thing. Most of them could however, they just dont want to.

The thing with auto healing, unless you have a fast recharge on it, the chances are you'll have just used it when a team mate really needs it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah. There are cases where you may want to use autoheal but in normal game you shouldn't. When I play my lvl 21 empath im just staring at the team window with mouse and buttonbinds ready. If I see someone drop enough hp equivalent or more of my heal, I target that person from team window and hit heal other. If someone rapidly drops near death I do same with absorb pain. In normal game I wasnt even using healing aura much. Also I keep my eye on team windows buff icons and rebuff when necessary. Taking a few pot shots at the enemies when healing is not needed.

Do NOT use MoG if you're planning on taking ....... or fighting NRG blasters with Aim/BuildUp/PowerBoost in PvP.

  10. On slightly related note, I came to realize that there are some global channels that are 'default', non-player created? If so, what these channels are?

Last night I checked my channel search, chose 'default' filter, and then tried to join "defiant(EN) PVP" -channel. The game said: "the channel does not exist, would you like to create it?"
  11. [ QUOTE ]
Only with DoT, but /energy has no DoT afaik

    [/ QUOTE ]

Energy attacks tend to have both energy and smashing damage components, if its this weird bug were talking about. Basically the oneshot shouldnt have happened.
  12. [ QUOTE ]

    Depends what you play.
On a controller maybe. In favourable conditions you might kill some held squishys while playing a dominator before supression pops up. Blasters etc should kill something before supression kicks which is prolly why accro resists there holds. Even a tank will kill a squishy before supression kicks in. (funny how they do so much more damage than say dom or defender, despite also having there attacks in there secondary).

    [/ QUOTE ]

I have tried to bring up the weakness of dominators for some time now, if you agree with me that they are disadvantaged. My blaster can kill squishies in less than 3 seconds if I stun them. Usually mere stun is enough - even if they pop break free they cannot escape in time.

A 40+ troller usually has no trouble killing held opponents. Dominators are the ones that have trouble..
  13. Depending when you do it, I might drop by to help. No guarantees though.
  14. [ QUOTE ]

I appreciate that the five channel limit can be a problem for some people, but I'm afraid I don't quite see how five Global channels is not enough to replace one server-wide channel.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The reason is (and im trying to understand the other party here) that people want to impose a message such as "kronos titan has spawned in Founders falls! Help!" to the population of the server. The more people hear you, the bigger chance is that someone will come to help. And everybody is member of arena by default, so naturally Arena has been used for this purpose so far.

However, if you shout it at <insert global channel name here> the chances are that less than 10 people notice it in any case, and even less will come to help. The key is indeed 'imposing' certain messages on other people.

Problem with global channels is that they are player generated (afaik), and hence people will have to actively search for them to put them into their tabs, so naturally people who do this are much fewer in number than those who _havent_ removed arena from their tabs.

Take for instance *cough* wow here, that has a faction-wide (or one that you hear in all cities?) channels for groupfinding and trading at least which are in peoples chat tabs by default. In addition it has a 'general' channel afaik (im no WoW-expert so please correct me if I make mistake).

Coh gives 2 serverwide channels for help and arena instead of having couple more for say, finding teams or general chat. Then it ALLOWS the creation of any kind of global channels but the key is that they have to be made by players and then players would have to choose which one use... and then there is the 5-channel limit.. did I mention that only small percentage of players read forums, so how to let people know which global channel is the one to use..

Ultimately people use the one channel that is right in front of their noses (ie. arena) when they need to talk to as many people as possible.

(I take this moment to say that it is totally awesome that devs listened to players and created the global channels in the first place. However, this post is to show why global channels can't replace certain things).
  15. Thank you for posting Bridger.

    [ QUOTE ]

not saying that, what i mean is UNTIL someone actually makes a stick on here, OR enforces the 'said' rules to arena in solid concrete etc; the chatting NOT spamming (in majority) wont end.

    [/ QUOTE ]
First, spamming is forbidden on ANY channel by code of conduct. Second, did it occur to you that a channel named "arena" might actually be meant for finding arena matches?

    [ QUOTE ]

#1 remove arean as an addable tab OUTSIDE of the arena instance OR erminal areas

    [/ QUOTE ]
No. I use arenachat for finding arena matches when Im NOT in actual arena twiddling my fingers. IF I get a match I spend a whole lotta 1 minute getting to arena in that case.

    [ QUOTE ]

#2 make (as others suggested) a global pvp channel, removing arena

    [/ QUOTE ]
No. Global arena channel is pretty pointless since inter-server PvP is basically not possible (if you don't count test server). And it would be one more channel to go against the 5-global channel limit. It makes a whole lot more sense introducing "server" channel (that is server-specific, not global) for general chat.

You cant permahold anything in pvp.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thats right, but you can hold something long enough to kill it.

As for the original issue, like stalko said, combat jumping is your friend. Sorry for my sarcastic response to a post I filed into the 'general moaning' section.

ps. Acro's mez protection is never going to be upped or we'd end up with more balance issues than we started with.

Fiddlesticks. I never PvP with my tank and hasten is on auto everytime else except when Im tanking Hami.

Ps. Health is worth 3 slots on a tank.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
At the end of the day, as said somewhere above, everybody pays to play this game and, quite frankly, can chat about what they want where they want .

    [/ QUOTE ]

I would like to stay out of this topic as it has been discussed before, but you are wrong there. We do not have the right to chat whatever we like just because we pay for this, we need to follow the rules set by the party offering us this service. Rules such as the EULA and the code of conduct. If we don't follow the rules they have the right to kick us out and refuse to take our money.

Bridger did post a long time ago that Arena chat is for pvp and we should petition people who don't follow the rules. It was almost a year ago though. (Note: petitioning isnt a punishment, the moderators decide whether someone has been wrongdoing and lay out the punishments accordingly. Petition means simply that the mods look at the issue.)
I think the mods have been very lenient about watching over the arena channel so far, just because lot of PvPers talk l33t and such. As long as they talk PvP, all is fine. If someone decides there is an issue to be solved then mods will look into it eventually. I guarantee it.

All that is asked is people to behave reasonably, and I don't see that is wrong. The "sod off, Im doing this cause I can and until someone kicks me out" mentality isnt helping anybody.
  20. From the experience of playing my lvl 28 Mind/energy, I hereby list the /energy powers that I have so far found to be good:

why don't the PvP crowd use the Global Arena Chat which everyone is a member by default

    [/ QUOTE ]

Because the Arena channel is there for Arena/PvP releated chat?

    [/ QUOTE ]

The same goes for the Global channel. My point is that the PvPers already have a global for that, the off-topicers(by lack of better word) do not have one. It is not fair with any of the groups to be trown out of the only good server-wide channel.

    [/ QUOTE ]

1st, global channel is a global channel and subject to the 5-channel limit of global channels. I am not a member of Global because of that reason.

2nd, there is a global channel for random stuff, asking help, etc. It is called Forumites.

The problem with global channels is that people dont know what they are for really, since most are very inactive. Note: Forumites is pretty active, I have to keep it on a tab of its own.

It's in the title. after a night of pvp, i have to say, out of any stalker, a spines stalker is just SO overpowered, he can kill any squishy who doesnt have a breakfree, throw spine - placate - AS, its pathetic its all they do, and it's so overpowred how throw spines can immob ANYthing without acrobatics, i think throw spines should not be able to immob 100%, i dont know if this is already the case, but it seems to me every time the thorw spine hits, it immobs, is pathetic, its like a stalker with a gurrantee'd hold.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Lmao, acrobatics offers no immob protection..

AFAIK if there is NO ONE at the highest rank then the next person who logs in gets auto-promoted. However, this rarely happens because it seems the auto-demotion doesn't always work when you get down to the SG founder.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah it is slightly buggy but should start working sooner or later.. I remember a coalition SG I know of had no-one at the highest rank for a short period of time but then the game kicked one person up. It was just slightly delayed.
