    And I was just going to comment that not all dominators get immobs. Mine doesnt. (Besides I hate immobs and don't want to make a character pony to pull off this one particular trick.)

  2. My tank has awfully much trouble in using it, even with small 'herds' (3 heal 3 intredux). And I thought I have become decent in using it too, I use it in pvp on my blaster a lot. However, I think aid self on my tank was a bad idea.
  3. Yeah, its pretty useless, especially if you have some other form of heal. It could be used as a panic heal on assault bot but imo thats not good enough. I skipped it on my robo/poison.

    You can also name the henchmen so that this bind either affects all of one group (like protector bots) or a singular minion. I have my droness named for instance destructor 1, destructor 2 etc.
    If you make a bind "petcom_name destructor goto aggressive" then all drones would obey. But if I'd use "1" as name then only the one specific bot would obey etc.

    Whether you use inspirations or not is a personal thing but I'm tired of the general moaning of inspirations even if there are none in use. Note that I'm not finding my blaster an uphill struggle, quite the contrary, and have been PvPing the better part of a year with him. Feel free to throw a challenge my way for arena combat, you can propably find me on defiant pvpers or forumites channel if Im online.

    I sincerely don't want to turn villain chat off if I go to Sirens or other pvp zone.

    Edit: Just like Plight below, you will find out that the best PVPers have extensive knowledge when to use and when not to use insps. Which ones to get, how to preserve them as much as possible and the best moments to use them. PvP in this game has been balanced with inspirations in mind, not without. They arent cheating in any way. They arent automatic route to victory because, like I said, the games been balanced with them in mind. Use or not, learn how to play around them, but completely ignoring them is silly.

    If you think you are proficient in zone PvP, I recommend moving to arena combat because zones are merely the preliminaries ^^

    Soloing elite bosses isnt that tough if you know what youre doing (depending on which one though). My stalker just soloed snaptooth today. (My stalker teammate however bit the dirt from his first attack basically.. :S Hence the solo.)

    However against AVs or GMs, I guess its mainly about what little damage or secondary effects doms can offer.
  8. Since I dont have much experience on fire or ice, I comment where I can.

    My blaster slots aid self 3 heal, 2 intredux, 1 recharge. (he has power boost too) Recharge may not even be necessary much if you use hasten. Aid self recharges usually fast enough for you to use when it is practical. Although I havent got experience of aid self on a dom. Definitely 3 heal though.
    3rd intredux is definitely not needed as it wont help much.

    I recommend putting 2 jumps on hurdle for better unsuppressed movement. (my blaster has 3) It helps more than swift.

    I'd slot power sink 3 endmod 3 recharge.

    Acrobatics can make do with 1 end redux.

    Also, I always slot superspeed and superjump for 2 speed and 2 jumps respectively, and only then for endredux, and recommend same to you if you want to escape the blasters who have done so (like me).

    Id propably swap endredux in ice blast for recharge.

    Well at least everyones been warned. If it starts, it will be unplayable.
    Somebody noted that putting all sound 0 might help, but I don't know for sure.

    ps. According to that, power blast is weaker than I thought (or you could say that impale is stronger than I thought). It only does about 65% of the damage of impale.

    Any MM with /dark is good, and it gets its best powers at the start even I have no experience from mercs though.
  14. Nice guide. Interesting reading, although I didnt find new info or hard data from sets and stuff im interested in or sets that Im already familiar to. It still has number of mistakes in it. For instance, it claims that standard break free lasts 15 seconds while in actuality it lasts 30. Kind of important to know for doms. Other stuff needs fixing too but overall nice sum-up of doms.

    Ps. I had some nice fights in sirens call last night, cheered me up (until everybody started crashing though.. ). Especially a lv 20-30 dom who did everything right and gave good fight. I wish people would stop moaning about insps though. Even after I was joined by an empath he still moaned about insps

    pps. afaik impale does about 20% more damage than power blast, although I dont really have any reliable info.. Nofuture doesnt seem interested about energy assault, so it lists its damage as 0

  16. Hey I got an idea. What if we would grab known PvPers, Unionites for villains, Defianters for heroes, and meet in test server recluses victory? I don't know when I'd have time for it, but what do you think about the initial idea?

    If I find that killing someone is actually possible, I might revise my opinion, but I will propably need to level my dom first to get slots and test. Anyway, you will be hard-pressed to convince me that power blast has something to do with killing players in PvP, no matter how it is slotted.
  18. Like I said, my build will propably veer into more and more PvP-oriented as time goes by. Howver, things like Terrify and mass confusion are unlikely ever to leave the build, I think. They are too good in pve and have uses in PvP as well. Besides I don't think Im running out of respecs any time soon (with veteran ones I should have abouts 5-6 left at my disposal, although I havent done the villain respec trial yet on any of my villains, heheh)

    I recognize the fact that sirens builds will always be lacking something. While Im ready to play in Sirens, I dont consider it the end of PvP. More than anything I just want confirmation that Doms start to work in PvP at some point. The level is not that important, though hopefully at least at 50, heh. Meaning I want to know that its worthwhile to continue playing my dom the rest of the lvls. So far I havent seen much evidence to suggest so.

    At least with recent changes and total focus my dom has started to work in PvE. Thats something. My 'complaints' about sirens are merely random musings... I wish I didnt have such a loud voice.

    About the guide, Filth linked to several guides, or someone else did.. But I can't seem to find the post right now.. There was a guide about dominators in general and it had some advice I didnt agree with. Among other things, it essentially said that "get AOE hold asap" - which is something you DON'T want to do blindly when youre playing a mind dom. Total domination sucks donkey balls out of the box, and is only tolerable fully slotted and when used with power boost. I actually recommend pve doms to skip it. The only practical use for it is mitigating mobs alpha strike, because otherwise terrify is twenty times better than total domination. Mass Confusion propably as well but I only just got it.
  19. Snow storm is great in PvP. Its autohit, it completely nullifies fly and superspeed, causes decent -recharge and automatically interrupts aid self and other interruptible powers on the target. It is also useful in PvE. I definitely recommend trying to fit it in here somewhere.

    Also the general opinion that inspirations are somehow 'cheating' is dangerous and must be rooted out. They are put into the game for a reason by devs, and exist for us to use. Ultimately, pvping without inspirations on a blaster will get you nowhere.

    Trick is to click break free BEFORE their attack hits.. That way you can still fight back, and gamble between killing them with defiance and running away. Your character will get better as you level though.

    My ideal characters would have superspeed, hurdle, combat jumping and superjump. That satisfies all your movement needs.

    Well my blaster in sirens doesnt need to break free. Ill just sip my coffee until mez suppression kicks in and then I 3-shot them. That is if they are stupid enough to try taking someone 1v1 in sirens. Kind of obvious why Im going for teambuild in the dom thread.
