  1. Hmm I managed to forget this..
  2. No acc in the first two attacks? I guess they are not used much then..

    2) Does a ninjitsu stalker need stamina? I mean we only have 3 toogles...

    - Yes it definitely needs.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Are you sure.. cause I don't have many if any end problems, and i'm near lvl 20? Or does it other powers drain end like crazy?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I say this because of my own experiences with my lvl 34 claws/nin stalker, which became enjoyable to play only after I respecced in stamina. It is a pvp build though.

    Mind/FF

    [ QUOTE ]
mines only lvl 37 but im going to throw in 3 recharge into tk as well as the end reds as it takes quite a while to recharge

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thats what Im thinking, and my mind/ff is lvl 23-24 iirc. I like it, although im mainly playing my dominator for mind powers. I like mind/ff conceptually but its really lacking in damage.

If you're allowing exemps, I'll try to come by to the next one. If not, I'll have to wait for this to happen on Test.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Exemps are allowed, we just need to make somehow sure you wont have more than allowed insps.

    Paladins

    [ QUOTE ]
But does he spawn if those three already exist?

And do they 'time out'? Or do they stay there until killed?

    [/ QUOTE ]

He does not spawn if there are already 3 paladins. And I think they do 'time-out', but the interval is quite long.

    Stalkers however, dont get follow-up

    [/ QUOTE ]

The fix to that's simple- "Nerf the Stalkers!!"

    [/ QUOTE ]

They do get build up hehe.
  8. [ QUOTE ]
From the comparisons on the US boards, Claws is statistically the highest single-target damage primary. It can get the best average DPS by using Perma Follow-Up. That comes at the expense of having little in the way of spike damage, and no "Build Up".

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Stalkers however, dont get follow-up
  9. 1) Is caltrops as good as I hear?

    - not really

    2) Does a ninjitsu stalker need stamina? I mean we only have 3 toogles...

    - Yes it definitely needs.

    3)Is smoke bomb any good?

    - I dont know

4)Do i need Ninja reflexes if I take Combat jumping and Parry? Or do I not need dnager sense?

Both constitute the bulk of your defense with or without parry, CJ does not even count. If you want to make a stalker without defense its up to you.

    5) how do you guys nick pick from so many cool sounding powers!

    - We try them out on test server and use common sense

It was interesting to see, when that level 50 Stalker joined, that fighting at such a low level, that anybody can win (admittedly we did gang up and gank him at one point).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, level 50s exemping down that low really don't have many advatages, the main ones being number of insp slots and having maximally slotted powers. The latter is counteracted by the exemp code, all it actually means that the powers wont be weaker than a lvl 5s powers, but propably wont be much stronger either. Also lvl 50s often have respec builds done at lvl 50 so the powers might be in weird order hehe.
  11. [ QUOTE ]

Always herding USED to be the best way to level, but that was before ED and before the target cap. Now herding is completely situational, doing it constantly is simply a waste of time and very, very boring.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Indeed. Not only is herding boring, the fastest teams will simply kill the mobs where they stand instead of spending time to herd two mobs together. Tankers job is mainly to take the alpha strike and after that the mobs are pretty much dead.

With a 'medium' effective team, herding is valid, and weak teams will use pulling. Usually this progress from weak to strong reflects the players level too.
  12. Acrobatics is pants for anything ELSE than KB protection.. Everything that will knock off acro will also knock off hover. In addition you can get -fly'ed.

But having hover for semi-KB protection is ok.

AS for the topic, it is a personal choice. For PVP you want real travel powers, but for PvE it is possible to go without. It's up to you.

    Hey it was good fun

    [/ QUOTE ]

    It was :O)
The low level made it more of a fun atmosphere rather than a "must win at at all costs" one. And my trapper wasnt totally gimped like I thought he might.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, we got some real nice and exciting fights. Especially the 10 domination one, or at least it felt like it until we found out that the brute had 5 lives remaining. I was out of insps and down to my last 'life' at that point thanks to you gankers hehe. I really did everything I could in the end and managed to get one kill but he had too many 'lives' ^^.

The fights had a lot of opportunity for strategy, tactics, managing your insps and other skillful stuff Despite being at lvl 5 hehe. Well down there you really need to utilize the arena map to full effect too.

Lowbie fight also showed couple interesting concepts to use. Such as my SR scrapper who seemed nice when at lvl 5 pvp accuracy is so horrible . Blaster or corruptor seemed very good too, and brute/tank for domination matches.

    I was there with:
    Prowl
    Scarlet Blossom
    Rowdy Rose

Dont remember if I had more alts there.. Had to go watch Heroes episode 1 in the end
  14. [ QUOTE ]

Am I going to get crippled with rent, there's only going to be 3 of use to start.

    [/ QUOTE ]
As long as you dont update your base plot to bigger one you wont have rent at all.

    [ QUOTE ]

Is the base building anything like on Evil Genius?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Lol unfortunately you wont have any minions doing the jobs..
  15. [ QUOTE ]

Assuming that the non-energy team is well balanced, and not just damage dealers also, as you suggested.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And I pointed out earlier that its not much of a point to have only EM toons versus balanced team with support. If you want to prove EM better or not, then should have a fair fight.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
Can I ask why you play a Kheld if you don't like how they look, think the powers are limited, don't enjoy the challenge of slotting effectively and don't feel they are powerful?

    Personally I don't like playing scrappers - so I don't.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually I don't. My PB being about 18 months old and being lvl 27 should give a hint. Every once in a while I try to pick it up again and see if I had been mistaken, and end up explaining why it is on bottom of my 'characters that Id want to play' list.

Gonk, you mean two-form as in nova and dwarf? All the so-called versatility is found from the human form whereas nova and dwarf are the respective one-trick ponies after different tricks and having the limited power options.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
BS/REGEN does say "Magic sword" so that would be thematic.

    Gonna have a think

    Thanks!

    [/ QUOTE ]

One of my old toons on union is a BS/Regen normal looking dude with a 'magic sword' which causes the regen abilities.. ^^
  18. [ QUOTE ]
Such a large selection of powers to choose from and so many ways to play. I like being able to shapeshift too - makes me feel epic when posing in Atlas.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well my opinion is that the PBs choice of powers is extremely limited especially taking into account the amount of power pool powers you need to make playing even remotely enjoyable. Not to mention that you have to sacrifice effectiveness in enhancement slots if you want 'versatility'. And shapeshifting.. well it doesnt help much that I hate the appearance of the transparent energy aliens which are the only options you can transfrom into. Not to mention they look exactly same as everyone elses nova and dwarf.

I respecced away from nova recently because playing nova was sinking deep into my chair with eyes closed and my right hand going through target_closest and attack buttons in sequence. Opening my eyes only to chekc where the rest of the team had went. Such a limited form.

Versatility regarding kheldians seems like a big illusion to me. Every character out there has attacks. Lots of them have buffs and debuffs and other powers necessary to get the job done if someone dies. The only jobs a PB can actually swap between are those of a tank and damagedealer. That is the only thing unavailable to other toons.
  19. Guess I could drag myself over there on thursday but dont expect me to get excited.
  20. Personally I value variety, and versatility on the other hand is in the eye of the beholder. Each and every toon I have can contribute to save the team from teamwipe, they just do it different ways. My empath might buff the damagedealers so they could deal with the situation and keep them alive with healing. My scrapper would rush from mob to mob trying to keep aggro on herself and kill the mobs quickly taking the position of the point man. Controller would try to keep as many mobs under mez as possible and so on. Peacebringer cant do anything that one of the other ATs can't and everytime I play the PB I wish I was some of my other alts.

Although in all honesty I suspect the biggest reason why I don't like kheldians lie in their appearance. This mr 'industrial light and magic' with vanilla energy blasts seems to allow only one kind of character concept - a kheldian. That I do not like. I enjoy creating character power/appearance/origin/type/demeanor concepts in my head and the PB simply can't pretend to be anything else than a PB. It gets on my nerves.
  21. Yay, nice having it at the same time as the anniversary rumble.. :S

    "and impressive in quality"
peacebringers were a big let down for moi

    [/ QUOTE ]

Whereas for me my Peacebringer is considerably powerful.

He consistently outdamages and outsurvives my Kat/Regen scrapper, when facing anything other than Voids.
On larger teams with +damage/+resistance from Cosmic Balance, it's just sick what a PB can do.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I have the same experience as Maelwys, playing a PB in large teams can be one of the biggest rushes you can get in CoH

    [/ QUOTE ]

While obviously my PB functions much better in teams, Ive never got any 'rush' off him..

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ok, lets say 'great satisfaction' then.

The kind of satisfaction you only can get from being in a team, and all of a sudden the tanker goes down, and the only thing that keeps the team from immediate teamwipe is YOU turning into dwarf, catching the aggro before the squishes die and gives them time to either rez the tank back, or defeat the remaining foes.

And then in the next mob you go back to human and becomes a force of destruction, outdamaging the scrapper.
For the next mob your pulling with your blasts, and in the final confrontation with the AV you go into lightform in case the tank slips up in its aggro management.

What Im trying to say is, whatever situation comes up, you probably have the tool somewhere in this Swiss Army knife-AT to help resolve the situation. I dont know about you, but I like being useful..

Anyhoo.. thats how I see the Kheldian ATs, adaptive, multi-use, jack-of-all-trades.

If all you have done is tanked your way to 50, of course you will be disappointed in a PBs tanking abilities. Just like if you have soloed a scrapper or blaster to 50 and then compare it to a soloing PB.
But for the tanker who also have played a scrapper and a blaster, the PB lets him draw on his experience from all three ATs, and thats just 'fricking' gold..

    [/ QUOTE ]

You know, everytime I post to Kheldian threads I get forcefed how and why I should be having great fun with my PB. It irritates me to a great degree. Especially since it is in such a contradiction with my own experiences. Thank you for ruining my day again.

    [ QUOTE ]

Just dont roll a DA scrapper if you want to pvp.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think DA's get too much of a bad rep tbh. It's really just their self heal that lets them down, it uses an accuracy check but that could be countered with the medicine pool.

They get stealth, +perception, fear protection and end drain protection, and the fear/stun mez toggles could concieveably be quite useful when fighting squishies. And when they fall Soul transfer is pretty much an unresistable mez (can detoggle Granite Armor iirc).

Only thing would be that with Acrobatics and Aid Self practically required there'd be less pool power options available. Could see a /DA struggling in solo PvP but doing nicely with defender backup.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Its not as much a case of what DA has, its a case of what they dont have, ie. resistance against common types of damage.

Fear and stun toggles, while nice, are counteracted relatively easy with break frees and obviously in team pvp support buffs completely nullify them in most cases. Stealth they dont get enough. Perception, fear and end drain resistances are nice but it simply boils down to that they cant take much damage from dedicated damagedealers. Whatever buffs you apply to them in team PvP, would make another secondary even stronger. Im sorry, thats just how it is.
  24. One of the most important aspects of deceive is that it doesnt cause aggro, and thus doesnt break your stealth (super invis).
