    To the best of my knowledge, there have been two threads recently about the Heavies, both of which you started. And yes, they were heated, which is precisely my point - if everyone agreed, and there was unified hatred of Heavies and RV, then it wouldn't get heated. We'd all agree, and then perhaps it would make sense to say things need to change.

    The thing is, no matter what is done with any of the PvP zones, some people will like it, and some won't. I don't really see an overwhelming outcry about this issue - for everyone on here who says the Heavies are too strong, someone comes and says they like them. For everyone who hates the fact that people use RV to farm, there's someone who loves the fact they can do just that... or has fun chasing the farmers around.

    a.) I said 'grinding'. There has been several "why dont people want to fight in pvp zones" threads.

    b.) obviously not everyone agreed to heavies being harmless if there was arguing done by someone else than me. Everyone is entitled to an opinion.

    BB and warburg: the minigame rewards are used mainly for PVP (base raids) while the mingames are pve. This is ok.

    Sirens call: minigame reward is PvE mainly, but it is gathered by engaging in PVP. This is good.

    RV: rewards exist solely for PvE with most things done so that the grinders getting those rewards would have to do as little PvP as possible. Obviously somethings not right here.

    Err.. what is situational about it? You can always use it on any enemy.. On a solo mob its like a longer hold. Only thing wrong with it is its long activation which may make you want to use shorter activation powers.. Especially if youre on a good team, I give you that. But lets consider those of us who aren't.

    If the goal is to neutralize mobs, I might be spamming blind and deceive after using AoEs. If the goal is to do damage of course I'd be rather using spectral wounds..

    I use web nade a ton in Pvp with my MM and it has NEVER stuck. It's got a tiny mag, and stacking it takes

    Thats because most pvp-going people have combat jumping and you'd need to stack webnade to overcome that.

    Nope. Confusion doesn't set up containment. Only holds, immobs, sleeps and stuns.

    Bah, not that I have bothered to even take notice since my troller isnt the one taking down mobs.. I have to rely on others for it anyway.

    There are options to invul tankers and people cant decide on one best build. People take either res elements and res energy and some dont. Some take tough and some dont. Some take both even. Its really difficult to say. TI+UY+RPD+tough is close to smash/lethal cap > TI+UY+tough > TI+UY+RPD.

    Some people argue that res elements and res energy dont give enough resistance to warrant taking them. I on the other hand have always taken them, and I have never had tough. I admit that I dont pvp with my tank though. IT really doesnt matter much. Temp inv , unyielding and dull pain will be your protection mostly in PVP anyway. Six-slot dull pain and try to get the +hp accolades..

    You could run a stamina-less build but you'd have to slot heavily for endurance reduction and I think it would be pretty frustrating. Also bear in mind that without stamina, your endurance recovery will be sluggish, one hit from a sapper and you'll be a sitting duck.

    Problem is, that my blaster didnt want to slot for end reduction more than 1 slot.. I wanted to slot for accuracy and damage. My blaster has endreds in attacks AND stamina AND conserve power.

    ps. If I meet someone who has 3 endreds in a normal attack I'd knock him on the head.

    From a PvE perspective:

    Blind, spectral wounds, superior invis, phantom army, spectral terror, phantasm (maybe group invis and flash), healing aura, heal other, clear mind, fortitude recovery aura, regeneration aura, adrenalin boost(maybe absorb pain and resurrect), personal force field, deflection shield, insulation shield, dispersion bubble, force bubble (and maybe force bolt), tranfusion, siphon power, siphon speed, transference, fulcrum shift (and maybe increase density and inertial reduction), radiant aura, radiation infection, accelerate metabolism, enervating field, lingering radiation, em pulse (and maybe mutation and choking cloud), sonic barrier, sonic haven......deep breath....disruption field, sonic dispersion, clarity, snow storm, steamy mist, freezing rain, hurricane, tornado, lightning storm (and maybe o2 boost), hurdle, stamina, fly (maybe hover), tactics (maybe vengeance), combat jumping, super jump, acrobatics.....nother deep breath.....aid self, hasten, super speed, teleport (maybe recall friend) from the top of my head

    Very funny. I consider for instance blind theoretically inferior than deceive.. But blind is more practical with its short animation.

    Lets see..
    Neutralize an enemy completely? Both.
    Trigger containment? Both check.
    Blind does small damage, yay.

    In addition confuse lasts over 10 seconds longer out of the box than blind, causes no aggro, doesnt break super invis, makes the enemy fight on your side and buff/heal etc you. Elite bosses have no extra confuse protection with triangles, I have started to permaconfuse EBs since I got told of this. (mind Dominators for instance can build domination bar full from distance with this before engaging an AV or eb, because it causes no aggro.)

    What exactly would be better in blind?

    Yes, but he had telekinesis geared to run the entire length of the match, which allowed an easy victory over Jum's blaster+emp team, on the other hand. TK I think was necessary cause I wasnt certain of white magus' survivability otherwise (he had fly for instance). Ultimately I dont believe that there is only one ultimate team makeup. It all depends.

    Enough of this derailing.

    Def/controllers have access to it, blasters in one secondary, and scrappers/tanks have access to FA which is as unbalanced as PB.

    Empathy and Blasters are also "broken" for team pvp, by design. Most of the time, when you use specialists (pvp empath = pure support, blasters = pure damage) in such a fast-paced environment, they'll beat balanced characters.

    Even if Cm didn't stack, even if emps didn't have PB, even if blasters didn't get 30% unresistable damage on every attack, emp+blaster would still be very strong. Too strong compared to most villains.

    (I'm not advocating for any nerf except CM, but I'd love to see every pvp zone going FFA, or to be able to make any AT on both sides ; of course, it's not going to happen, so I'll have to stick to underpowered villains to find some zone pvp action )

    The last squished tournament was won by duo corrupter combo iirc. Second place was mastermind+corruptor iirc.

    My own team (blaster+emp) won one match against another blaster+emp and then lost to the mastermind team.

    Mate, my problem is not getting ganked, oneshotting or 'other unpleasant things' as long as they are done by players. My problem is with these machines whose sole purpose is to allow grinding for big rewards and foil any real pvp in there.

    As a rule saturday evenings are bad for me so I wish this was another weekday altogether. Although just this once, this saturday is ok for me. I doubt if I will be cured from my loathing of RV before the event though.

    Given that emp/blaster duo's are far more powerful than any player/heavy combo, I dont see how you can say one needs changed but the other is ok. Maybe you can give us a typical scenario of you vs a player & heavy, then people can offer an alternative strategy.

    Your scenario requires an emp. I dont have one available.

    ps. @xanthus: I thought Id disagree with Zathroth but I dont because fortitude is lot better than forge. Forge grants only about 9% bigger +damage bonus than forti. PLus heroes can hit powerboost+fortitude while villains dont get PB+forge.
