  2. Excellent. The word "rad" usually means a great 1v1 pvp character no matter what.
    (powers to take for sure:
    radiation infection(slot for 3 toHit debuff and def debuff),
    enervating field(slot for 3 endred),
    lingering radiation (slot for accuracy and recharge),
    accelerate metabolism (slot for recharge and endmod)
    radiant aura (slot for selfheal))

    Mind has great single target mezzes.
    You can also use telekinesis for its great repel, although you dont need to with rad. To prevent opponent coming after you or pin him in a corner (only few powersets in game can resist repel). Telekinesis needs to be slotted heavily for endred though should you take it.

    Basically Id consider taking all single target powers + terrify for my troller, but usually theres no room. Dominate is a great hold to spam. Mesmerize can hit through for instance bubblers dispersion field. Confuse can be great fun in pvp zometimes (confuse a traps MM so he is blown up by his own trip mine etc hehe)

    Usually people have to take a lot of pool powers for pvp builds, it depends about travel powers as well.

    About fire mastery I dont know much. Id propably take primal forces myself.

  4. I also have a mind/energy dominator, but I think its much more difficult to kite with hover/teleport than it would be with a leaping power or even fly (unless you slot hover for speed) .. With leaping you can fire off attacks midjump, but with teleport you either port or fire and a good opponent will be on you almost before the teleport has even finished animating.. But I guess it may be just easier for me.

    I had no idea you could follow enemies. That's crazy. but still:
    If they're willing to set it to Follow while I'm still next to them instead of attacking me....as well as use up 4 of there powers to get 2 travel methods....they deserve to catch me.
    Btw how does the "follow" method work if you have a Stealth IO slotted in you TP (or whatever travel method)? Do they suddenly "stop" following you at some point?

    Attacking or jumping doesnt break your follow so you can have follow permanently active while mauling your opponent with melee attacks. It gets a bit more subtle than that actually, but utilizing follow can be extremely useful tool in pvp, if you want to get into melee. For instance I can down flying opponents in pvp zones with my superjumping blaster by targeting, homing in with follow and total focus them to the ground (queued melee attacks activate immediately once I get close enough). Fly is slower than jump anyway, so the scenario is very likely. I can actually follow my opponents to the 'roof' of a pvp zone by clicking my GvE edition boost pack for added height on special occasions.

    Ultimately teleport doesnt really help you to break line of sight as such, but it is helpful while trying to escape due to its sheer speed. (often best direction to tp is straight up to the sky btw) Most everybody agrees that it is the best travel power for escaping in pvp zones.

    However, teleport has number of weak points. One of them is its near uselessness in confined quarters, such as arena maps (ok, hand up, who uses teleport inside normal pve missions either?). note with hurdle, superjump works great anywhere.

    The other is that it is extremely difficult to use to get into melee range of a moving opponent. This is main reason why teleport is not favored as a pvp travel power. Unless the target is braindead or otherwise paralyzed it is an easy matter to avoid and kite a teleporting melee attacker. The fact that you cannot adjust the range that you teleport makes it even harder.

    Teleport also has the small hover-drop at the end that will interrupt interruptible attacks like assassin strike, unless you use hover or fly.

  11. What nightbringer said about powers. Superjump caps with 2 jump slots so move one away or swap it with endred. Combat jumping and hurdle can use jump slots for unsuppressed movement. Endred in combat jumping is pointless as its one of the cheapest toggles in the game, if not the cheapest. If you are wondering where to put slots, you can put additional toHits in Build up.

    PvP and IOs

    I havent had much chance to test them in PVP myself as I have only one character who I've been concentrating on, and I am still trying to stockpile the IOs before respec, ie none of the sets are slotted yet.

    Personally Im with you, IOs in general offer slight improvement to the characters. I may revise my opinion once I get the sets to my blaster.
  13. Hmm. So if opponent would voluntarily stand in the cloud for its entire duration (45 secs was it? ) chance that they would be held at least once during that period is, um, 18%? Such a rare chance its no wonder I hadn't heard about it before. Mag 1000 holds are still nasty..

    For pvp purposes the chance might as well be 0, since opponents are unlikely to voluntarily stand in the cloud.

    That it would have a low chance to hold per tick didnt cross my mind, so I couldn't figure out what the nofuture listing meant. Sorry about sounding sceptic.

    I'm pretty sure it lists the power as doing -DMG, -ACC, -RES, - DEF, +Special , note the lack of Hold, though I assume the "Special" is either a Hold or the Animation.

    Also, City of Data (yes I did check, however there's SQL errors all over the shop for the Noxious Gas pet summon that does the effects, although it does list Hold I severely doubt it's Mag1000).

    I also find it odd that /Poison would get what is in effect three Holds in the set.

    Neurotoxic breath has a hold element in pve only.

    As for nofuture, its still not displaying things correctly enough. First, it also lists noxious gas as 0% chance for hold. Second, it doesnt say whose noxious gas 'pet' that is. Third, get realistic. I also happen to have a poison mastermind although I dont have noxious gas yet, I did test it during test server event. Its an autohit debuff on mainly res, apparently on def and toHit as well. Thats it.

    Although I have been wrong before, I'd be willing to bet real money that noxious gas does not contain an unresistable mag 1000 autohit PbAoE toggle (centered on henchman) hold in pvp thats up 45 seconds out of about 90.

    Recently I have found the 'pet' and 'pets' lists of nofuture somewhat difficult to decipher. Can't say I have much faith in them currently. Remember that these nofuture power lists have not been updated for I8, and Iakona has said it is unlikely they will ever reach such accuracy as they did before.

    And lastly, /poison sets poison trap does sleep, not hold.

    Technically possible to resist but in practical terms you will never be able to resist a mag 1000 hold.

    Afaik its a mag 3 hold. Whether or not it manages to stack itself from the poison cloud I dont know.

    ps. /poison MM sets poison trap is a sleep btw iirc.

    Nope, because the power itself is Foe Hold if I remenber right, also there is no status indicator in your buff bar like you'd get with a Mez. You just get stuck there, regardless of any protections you may have, even if you were rocking 20 Tier 3 Break Free's. =\

    I think its the animation thats bugged, not the hold. Once youre in the animation you cant do zip, like pop break frees or anything. Same thing that was originally with soul storm (both ghost widow and villain PPP power).

    Well you can speak for only you and thrusty. Not all empath+blaster duos. Skill is always a factor in pvp.

    I think the problem that majority or people just arent competitive enough, nor can stand the harsh reality of going against real people compared to the soft fluffy computer-controlled opponents of PvE. But thats just my opinion

    PVP in this game is the best I have so far come across in a PC game.

    I never thought bloody bay as a place for pvp..

    But zone pvp is only half of the pvp. More people to the zones would be a welcome thing so welcome to defiant.
    I scout the zones occasionally but opposing side tends to leave after Ive been few minutes on the zone..
