Personally I dont think spines/regen is any better than regens of other primaries, but for some reason it has become the most common fotm toon, or what is most commonly perceived as one. Of course its your choice what to play
.
Like others said, you wont get any respect playing one, propably the contrary cause its thought to be played by people who go for a fotm toon above anything else. PVP players who know where its at opt for some other kind of toon these days. -

oh god not another spines/regen.....

I was merely thinking aloud that a lot of the 'brokenness' complaints of the IO builds stem from, surprise surprise, recharges.. I wasnt merely thinking domis.
-
I sense that LOTG:recharge is going to be unique in next issue..
-
Sombody duel me with a permadom domi plz.
Would be funny if it was some other primary than mind though.
ps. Although I WOULD like to see mind holds untyped-ness fixed.
pps. Once again we are reminded that pvp is balanced for 1v1. Should this happen in a team fight, a blaster with lots of CMs in it would propably come and mash the dom to next issue, and whoops, domination reset. Or it would not, if the domis teammate would prevent it, and so on, in a team fight that is. -

I have a BS/SR and it will devour your blaster, its not remotely difficult to avoid a blaster for the 10 seconds when aim and BU is popped, neither is it hard to see or to fire off aid self when you see the TF icon land in your buff bar and heal back all the damage that TF is going to do before it even lands.
[/ QUOTE ]
While the statement is true, theres nothing there that a SR can do that Regen can't... Both toons need to run from BU animation, but regen will have more opportunities of going toe-to-toe with the blaster.
Well, thats my opinion, and I havent seen matches to convince me otherwise yet. -

I see your point about PB and thinking about it, its does seem like a very good form of mez protection. But your still in no position to state that it is the best. Its all a matter of opinion. So I am right, it is a case of the pot calling the kettle black.
[/ QUOTE ]
The thing about PB is that it can stack giving double mez prot. Only Kuji-In-Rin from ninjitsu is comparable in this sense, but PB has knockback protection, therefore its superior to Rin. -
Official (item of power) ones have never existed I think, and theres no info that theyd ever do. The devs have pretty much dropped the subject.
-
Heres a thought: create both toons
-
[ QUOTE ]
Also got other questions like is it worth pumping up slow ice bolt?, or in all? do they stack from each attack?
Each ice blast will stack extra slows.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ice bolt+ice blast is for building up domination I guess.. -
Welcome to the game I hope you enjoy it here. For pvp you picked relatively challenging toon, not weak, but skill-intensive.
But why on earth is power boost so late, its like the best power from your secondary.. -
[ QUOTE ]
yes they can and if they dont want to thats a completely different argument. maybe we shud scrap HOs cos some ppl dont want to earn them
[/ QUOTE ]
read above, fact is, currently I cant afford to spend 20 mil on a build. And I cant be arsed to grind for the inf. I play eve instead currently.
Note: Im not against IOs. Im just stating facts. -

Test server is exploitable tho. It's still the best option tho, given the alternatives
[/ QUOTE ]
Whether someone has actually been using that is a different matter. Also there are now lots of people whose live build is just as good as what the exploitation build would be..
[/ QUOTE ]
And that's how it should always be. Inventions kill PvP, at least in EU. Only hardcore players can afford a min/max PvP build. If casuals were reluctant to play vs them when the difference were just HOs, go figure now
[/ QUOTE ]
IMO inventions enhance PvP, in a lot of ways.
[/ QUOTE ]
agreed, if ppl cant afford at least 1 IO'd build they need to leave icon alone
[/ QUOTE ]
Not everyone can afford 200 million in just one build, and some that can, dont want to
[/ QUOTE ]
Basically I could maybe afford one tenth of that, on one character. I hate grinding. -

Be sure to pick up the Force of Nature accolade ASAP too for the massive +tohit buff. Can be really good for a Stalker to have a guaranteed hit on their opening few attacks.

Force of nature + build up + assassin strike + energy transfer = free beer -

refer to my mention on another thread about wanting to tank few, but hard enemies
[/ QUOTE ] The thing is, that's what you do in almost every major MMO. CoH is fairly unique in the amount of foes you can fight at once, and I (and I know many others do as well) really enjoy that aspect of it. Getting floored just about every time when you're against more than 3 foes is not fun.
[/ QUOTE ]
Funny, I havent noticed it. What I meant was, its not easy to spot similar situations in comics, although there has been some. Or maybe I just read old-fashioned superhero comics.. -

I am part RP and dont see XP, alot of players would think me poo for not earning XP fast enough, I dont even know how the reward system works and no way in hell can i keep up with the XP overtime on my Firetank with any of my other Tanks and with that I learn to love RotP. I see the game made up of cones, aoes you know the usual stuff if you have ever played a RP fighting board game with them templates.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't RP per se, but I have to say that the way tanking system works is very immersion-breaking compared to what Id want it to be. (refer to my mention on another thread about wanting to tank few, but hard enemies). But of course my opinions rarely affect devs. -
This is true. The primary job of tanker is to keep the team safe, not herd for maximum xp/minute efficiency. Those who place latter above the former get a cold look from me (and most other people).

my question about the rule is what happens with grav/sonic controllers that have 2 cages?
[/ QUOTE ]
Ban Infliction MWHAHAHAHA!!!!
[/ QUOTE ]
Rofl, a character that gets autobanned on its own -
[ QUOTE ]
cos its nowhere near as powerful as it used to be. i presume u can have a sonic with a bubbler but only 1 is allowed a cage.
[/ QUOTE ]
I know very well it isnt as good as it used to be but tell me is there a single person here who thinks that the cages make the fights 'more fun'? Im not ranting here, was just an observation. Inclusion of the cages will not decide whether I join or not, and I propably will -
Why not just ban sonic cage and detention field outright in the name of sportsmanship. I haved to admit that the rules left me a bit confused as well so far.
-
Lol, according to nofuture the scrapper primary is called "quills"

Just my 2c worth, I have been on a few PuGs with my stormie recently and both times I have been told not to use
a) freezing rain, because it makes the odd thing run.
b) snow storm, because people can't see what they are doing and it causes them lag
c) lightening storm, due to the knock back
d) Huricane, it moves mobs and people can't see whats happening.
e) Turn of steamy mist due to gfx lag.
[/ QUOTE ]
This made me laugh. I sorry that PUGs are that way, I dont do many of them. -
Ahh...this is actually cool. I hadnt thought of this as I usually just superjump to the sky far enough for the toggle to drop or something. Using stealth to make debuffer lose you from sight also helps.
So I assume that if you have a debuff toggle put on you, and jump to a mob spawm, if the mob spawn is either neutral or friendly to you (like arachnos to villains) it might attack the debuffer. Jumping a hostile spawn (like longbow to villains) would just make the spawn aggro you I think.
