  1. Basic ideas:
    - Concentrate on getting single target attacks over area attacks

    - concentrate on dealing damage rather than status effects (disorient, knockback, etc) at first

    - starting slotting idea for attacks (for common enhancements): 2 accuracy 3 damage 1 whatever (recharge or end redux usually)

    - With regen, all of the powers are useful except the last two are debatable in PVP (revive, moment of glory), and resilience doesnt need extra slotting as its taken for disorient protection rather than damage mitigation.

    - 6-slot reconstruction and dull pain quick. Both 3 heal 3 recharge.

    - Regen concentrates on healing or regenerating damage instead of defense/resistance. When the [censored] hits the fan, you hit dull pain + instant healing which is your god-mode instead of moment of glory. Reconstruction is also extremely important fast-recharging heal, which you use whenever the hp bar goes too low.

    For pools, Id take
    - hasten, superspeed
    - combat jumping, superjump (you dont need acrobatics as a melee toon)
    - hurdle, health, stamina (stamina not necessary as you have quick recovery but I have stamina myself, having more endurance doesnt hurt)
    - the last power pool is for you to choose, but I wouldnt take fighting pool as I find tough superfluous. Maybe provoke+ intimidate if you must have a fourth pool. With intimidate you can stop escaping opponents so you can deliver the final blow.

    - When fighting you move around with superspeed and leaping. Either with combat jumping or superjump active on top of superspeed.
  2. I'm not quite a beta veteran, but I did register not long after EU public release. COH was my first MMO.

    Original Hero:
    Hammerfall
    Most Notable Alias(es):
    Captain Skyfire
    Supergroup(s):
The Goonies - still here and active, only ~2 months younger than my account.
    Account Created:
    15 Feb 2005
    Veteran Rewards Time:
30 months (27 months in 4th october on my second account)
    What Are You Doing Now?:
Same things I did before starting.. Work and Uni in real life, dividing time between several games. Mainly MMOs, and Virtua Fighter 5 with Irl friends.

I have too many friends in COH to completely walk away, and I still enjoy exploring all the infinite character concepts. PVP is still interesting as well, although not the sole reason im still here. The content Ive mostly played through but not all of it. Thing that annoys me the most is the PvE game which functions around the same mechanics as it has always done, and this is what bores me the most and takes focus away from the PvE 'content'. However, every time I have proposed QoL improvements in the game mechanics other people complain that devs should concentrate on 'content' instead. Bah.
  3. And keep figuring out, thinking and asking what went wrong. Observing other peoples arena fights is also beneficial.

0.62 is virtually identical to what you'd get if you slotted Superior Invis with two Endred SOs. For a real-world comparison, a level 50 endred IO in Stealth's default slot brings it down to 0.52 End/Sec total for (Stealth + Sprint). Superior Invis 3-slotted with level 50 Endred IOs is also 0.52 End/Sec...

So they're functionally identical, except you need an extra two slots on Superior Invisibility to get it down to the same Endurance usage (and the suppression time when attacked- 6 secs for SI versus 10 secs for Stealth).
You could think of it as a trade-off: for an extra 4 secs suppression time you get two extra enhancement slots, and as a bonus you only actually *need* to turn sprint on once every 120secs so it can cost you less end.

    [/ QUOTE ]

However, you are investing a power pool slot (stealth) rather than having 1 power from primary..
  6. [ QUOTE ]
Sprint has an instant activation/deactivation after all... The Stealth IO kicks in immediately, or at least semi-immediately (0.5 second activation or thereabouts IIRC), so turning it on and back off again every 120secs is IMO a very small price to pay.

Plus the fact that it really isn't all that endurance intensive to run even if you use it 24/7: Stealth + Sprint comes to (0.32 + 0.3 = 0.62) End per second unslotted. Superior Invis is 1.04 End per second unslotted.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, and superior invis is likely to be unslotted too

Anyway, I was referring the the actual "remember to activate it every 120 seconds" thing. Would be nicer having it in a power that you actually use and have to activate regardless of stealth io or not. I have it in hover cause my stalker enters hover nearly always before AS (to kill the inertia from fly). Currently in Sirens call I am relying on stealth io+stealth+hide which is all nice and fine until I forget to activate hover beforehand and realize it by the time theres a scrapper trying to insert huge bonespikes to my ear.
  7. Your empath is offending?
  8. Sprint end drain is relatively bad, so you'd have to keep switching it off as well. Personally Id invest an extra slot in a travel power for stealth ios. I only got one currently, my stalker, with whom the io is in 4th slot of hover.
  9. Stalkers shouldnt be carrying aggro, at least to my opinion. I have been doing it because the team situation required it, but obviously the devs didnt want stalkers to (even though they have higher survivability than several other types of characters).

Sonic buffs cannot be casted on yourself.

However trap cors do get stun protection that they can cast on themselves. But then again traps are bit snore.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Erm... sonic dispersion is a nice PBAoE bubble, even better then the FFG from traps imo.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sonic dispersion is a toggle which can be dropped by attacks,FFG is not so it gives protection even if you are held, etc.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And of course the enemy can't do anything to the FFG.. Besides same attacks that would detoggle thru sonic dispersion will do so and mez through FFG dispersion bubble as well. I did forget to mention traps as well in my earlier post though so sorry about that.
  11. Take a look at the hero builder next time, ok?

    "Your base and you"

What do you use your base for?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Teleport (we have all heroside beacons), storage, crafting, occasionally hospital.

    [ QUOTE ]

    How big is your base?

    [/ QUOTE ]
    12x12 hidden spot

    [ QUOTE ]

    What is your favourite room?

    [/ QUOTE ]
I like them all more or less.

    [ QUOTE ]

Did you design the base, did some one else, or is it a shared effort?

    [/ QUOTE ]
    I designed it.

    [ QUOTE ]

How often did your base get redesigned? Was it just for upgrades?

    [/ QUOTE ]
At times, often, but now it has been some time since the last upgrade as we got most things we could want.

    [ QUOTE ]

What is still missing in your base?

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Functioning mission computer..

    [ QUOTE ]

Can you describe your ideal base? (if yes, please do )

Can you think of other questions?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Can't think of anything.
  13. /sonic corrs get stun protection in sonic dispersion.

    I designed it.

    That explains things

    The Stalker Vent

Erm which hayabusa are we talking about.. I think I know a few and all of them disappear ^^
  16. Id recommend just "sex" if you must have it there.
  17. Hammerfall

    MoG or Revive?

Neither of them is that good for pvp but I take revive out of principle.
  18. There are always people like that... Anywhere.

The hardest job as a Team Leader is kicking people (I don't usually do so unless I feel people are purposely trouble)

I agree, I hate to do it so I try to be bit picky about who I invite in the first place.

    [ QUOTE ]

The unimaginative way in which some people play stalkers is sad, though I dont think its that much worse than with other ATs.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Totally agree, Hide and AS are not your only ways of playing. Stand there and fight. If there is a PvE team wipe, my Stalker is more often than not going to be the last one to faceplant or be the only one left standing at the finish up.

Stalkers.... Not as squishy as you think.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I was once in a lvl 40ish PvE team. The MM managed to aggro more than one mob spawn and team bit the dirt pretty quick. My stalker was the one remaining upright and managed to kill all the aggroed mobs by the time the others had ran back from the hospital. This with my PvP stalker.
  21. Hammerfall

    MoG or Revive?

I just got revive on my regen. I like it more than MoG
  22. Vigilance managed to hold their package together better. Congrats to Vigilance for the win!
  23. I notice from your sig you play on Union?
  24. You are alone in a pvp zone, then you suddenly notice someone on opposite side. You beat him couple times, he calls for help. With a team he ganks you couple times so you call for help on SG chat and friends list. Someone mentions action in arena chat and soon we have some nice pvp
  25. I have not noticed this on defiant. There should usually be teams once the amount of players in zone goes up. Solo players will just get ganked.

However, of toons most likely to refuse a team invite, I think stalker and scrapper players are most likely to be the ones going after pvp rep and solo. But of course this is just a small portion of all stalker and scrapper players.
