Main thing that pokes me in the eye there is that there indeed arent endurance reducers in the toggles like temp.inv and unyielding.. I couldnt live without them myself.
Also unslotted fly is kinda slow and very heavy on end, but thats up to you, I guess. Myself I originally didnt get a travel power until lvl 26.. And I liked to quote John Travolta: "If you're important, people will wait". Its up to everyone to decide whether that still holds for tanks these days.. -

My point is there is no uber I win build, there are just players that make their build shine.
[/ QUOTE ]
That would be my new sig if i had space to fit it inbut still this says it all..
[/ QUOTE ]
I would still like good PvP players leveling up a toon with 'gimped' powerset combo and make it shine in PvP.. If its all about skill then.. -

2) If you own a secure plot, can you only put secure type rooms in it?
[/ QUOTE ]
I am certain that the answer to this is no. Afaik you can put any kinds of rooms to secure plots.
In fact I suspect that being or not being secure is not an issue at all when placing rooms, its when you try to add a defense item on your secure room that is placed on normal plot when you learn that plots limitations overrule. ie. if you can put 0 defense items on the plot then you cannot put them on the room regardless whether room is secure or not.
If Im mistaken please correct.
PS. In short I meant that "secure" is just a name afaik. You should be looking at item limitations instead. -

Run herostats on it. The crash happens when there is approximately 18 seconds to go on the timer.
[/ QUOTE ]
On my herostats the crash is about spot-on, or -2 seconds(crash happens after timer has run out) or
so. I suspect having enough raw metal on your computer helps. If using herostats is too difficult, you can use slotted (3 rec.red) dull pain as a sort of timer as well, since it recharges faster than unstop crashes. ie. click Unstop, click DP, and after DP has charged you should get ready for a crash. This is slightly inaccurate, giving you a minute or little less unstop uptime after DP has charged. But its better than nothing.
The best way to slot unstoppable starts with 3 recharge reductions, what you put in additionally is up to you. My tank uses 2 resistance and 1 endurance recovery. -
Even though I KILL use domination mainly for KILL filling up my endurance bar, I also KILL save it for KILL taking care of mission end KILL bosses.

Uhmm.....
I think I haven't explained myself well enough:
Do you click the melee attacks on the Tray to use them or do you have any other key with a bind?
I've seen the tactics, I just need to know how to get them out faster than clicking them on the tray and in a reliable and fast way xD
[/ QUOTE ]
I almost never click powers from my tray with mouse.
I use keys and keybinds that I have bound around my move-around keys, for the logic that I don't have to move my left hand around which could mean misclicks. Like this:
primary attacks: 1,2,3,4,5
tank shields, fly, superspeed etc toggles, snipe: alt+1,alt+2,alt+3 (second power tray)
most important utility powers or extra attacks: z,x,c,v
(these include dull pain, build-up, block of ice for my tank - BU,aim, explosive blast for blaster - domination, deceive etc for my dominator). These keys are easily pressed with my thumb while using movement keys at same time.
r,t or f,g
certain extra powers or similar,
F is taunt on my tank and teleport for my dominator. When i had it, I had provoke bound on G. Unstoppable is on t, quickly accessible but not easily misclicked cause its further 'out'. R is usually autorun.
In certain special cases when normal binds are not enough I have bound powers on numpad keys as well, nova form attacks in case of my PB, minion controls for my mastermind, or emotes for other characters.
Heres how I do it. I don't use follow almost ever, btw.
/bind key "powexec_name powername"
All this depends on what kind of keyboard you have. I noticed this when trying out some other keyboards. I have even tried ZBoard special gaming keyboard but that was decent for controlling character but bad for typing messages so i switched back to my trusted logitech.
EDIT: Oh yeah, I do use mouse for clicking inspirations. I don't see them so time-critical that I can't use mouse for them. -

nah because it would just make certain other community members only think about there pvp ranking and to hell with the rules and general feeling making for very unhappy new players and community at large.
or something like that.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually it would make pvp more competitive and give people initiatives to enter the zone and pvp. The majority of the ones entering now the zones are there to farm and to get SO's which is at least pathetic. The truly pvp regulars have no initiatives to pvp other than their own enjoyment and certainly there is no potential to attract people in the zones to pvp. Other games have ranking systems and special rewards for being good at pvp that are non interfeering with pve part of the game such as special rank emotes and signature moves that give reasons to many non pvpers to enter the pvp zones and get addicted. Generalising about rules etc since currently there is no RoC i not think anyone knows any rules not even the devs themselves. So give us initiatives to truly pvp and dont let the pvp zones be farm areas for pve. PvP areas should be competitive to attract people as its in the human nature to compete and try excel. Right now they are just places where we randomly kill each other.
[/ QUOTE ]
I know I don't bother to go play for PvP ranking cause it dies down too quickly. I would still play PvE primarily even if PvP started making more sense. Second thing that puts me off is lack of players outside the peak hours. During peak hours I'm almost invariably playing PvE with my friends. -

4 Why cant i place items in certain locations.
[/ QUOTE ]
Without more details it's hard to be sure, but I'm guessing this is due to the code that prevents areas of the base being 'blocked' by other items. This is mainly intended as a balance mechanic for base raiding - otherwise it would be fairly easy to make an inpenetrable base.
[/ QUOTE ]
Some items have a 'face' side that you can't place against a wall for example. I remember for instance holo display has a 'face' even though it looks like a circular item with all sides equal. I realized this when trying to make a conference table with holo display at the center of table. -
[ QUOTE ]
Yep, starter room with the portal in it costs you nothing, so you could just go ahead and move the portal to a corner then proceed to decorate to some extent. As the only person in your SG you'll eventually be able to build other rooms but we're talking quite some time here, also bear in mind that your level 38 will not gain influence whilst in SG mode, only prestige.
[/ QUOTE ]
The problem with moving the portal is that if theres items near it you could get stuck entering the base. I had this happen in beta and here and now goonie portal is at center of room all by itself. That makes the room all that much smaller really. -
I don't know about teaming because there is usually plenty of my friends online for me to team with.
However about tough hide/stamina, even though tough hide is a decent power to have in the long run, its not a necessity so you can leave it till later. Stamina is good and I'd recommend it especially if you already have taken the pre-requisite powers.
Of rage I know nothing, never had SS characters high enough. -
I'd have thought that devices makes sense RP-wise in some cases.. Character concepts are important to me even if I don't roleplay as such. Characters must make sense for me to enjoy playing them.
*Anyway I have En/En blaster and I like it very much. Instead of going blapping as a principle, I've tried to go for damage without flinching away from ways to do it. This means Im blapping about 30-40% of the time (I count power burst as such attack too). My friends tend to describe me as close-up-and-personal blaster, but I always start off with a snipe and blast as much as possible, closing in for bone smasher for the next enemies.
Oh and I do die a fair bitLess than I thought I would with such a playing style though.
EDIT: Oh and I have found a way to make a stamina-less blaster - always keep a kinetic handy. -

Besides which, for me personally, solo PvP is nowhere near as much fun as teaming.
[/ QUOTE ]
yeah solo gets old real fast
[/ QUOTE ]
Personally Ive been bored at team PvP the few times Ive been at it. Even the time I teamed with TG.
I really really wish devs would think of ways to improve 1v1 PvP.. Even though I know I will lose to about 65% of ATs and powersets there.. -
[ QUOTE ]
many ppl complain about the cost of the base, but im prolly the only one that dont. Sure, base items are expensive, but you should remember that the idea wasnt to build a perfect base in 4 weeks. We have one of the most prosperous VG's on union and we have almost run out on things to build. we cant unlock the SG-badges fast enough to follow this development. in only 2 1/2 month that the bases been avaible, we earned enough prestige to build the 3rd baseplot for 3.3 mill. all workbenches, 2 telepads, raid teleporter, IoP room inc. defenses, 2nd energy room, 2nd control room, turbine generator and more... sure it takes us a week or 2 to gather prestige to buy the real expensive stuff, but the bases arent supposed to be completed in 2-3 months.. this is a lifetime project meant to be an always evergoing project, never to be complete. if every SG with more than 20 members successfully could build everything possible in base withing 4 months, i wouldnt even wanna bother.. no fun if everyone has it all.
Just keep working on it, and you will soon see that the costs for bases arent worse than the amount of healing u need to do to earn the 2nd SG-healing badge
[/ QUOTE ]
We are still at 10% of the bar to the first healing badge and have been saving last 3 weeks for the first plot upgrade.
Btw, last I checked Goonies was about middle of the top100 earned prestige SGs list on defiant. -
Yeah, I meant to say that I checked it and its supercomp now only, unless theres even bigger planetary supercomputers hidden somewhere.
Monitor bank you can put on normal main-frame. -
[ QUOTE ]
That's the one, mega monitor's artwork is just a wall of monitors, getting them mixed up.
[/ QUOTE ]
Dunno about mega-monitor, but monitor bank is a wall of monitors
Afaik mega monitor is an add-on you can put only on supercomputer, not normal main-frame
EDIT: removed ? -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
Monitor bank is another pointless item, even worse than holo projector, iirc costing more salvage and producing less control.
[/ QUOTE ]
Of course, we shouldn't be having to use our salvage to make this item, since most SG's have gotten 5 SG badges and supposedly unlocked it as a permanent addition to the base editor... only it isn't there.
[/ QUOTE ]
You must be thinking something else as monitor bank is a salvage item.
12 tech material
1 tech hardware
85000 prestige
-10 energy
+20 control
EDIT: Mega monitor is different item. -
[ QUOTE ]
You dont even need to do that, just save up for the super computer - 500 contol
[/ QUOTE ]
500 control is pretty much inadequate once we get into bigger plots, that is far future though.
ps. Supercomputer has to be unlocked first, though. -
Making the assumption of course, that the SG in question is able to hold together for those 1-2 years and keep active membership all the time. That, I suspect, will include only privileged few.
One of our dear friend SGs(relatively large and active) went down after its leaders started walking due to inner quarrels, and couple others merged with Goonies. SGs seem like real life companies, and the assumption that they won't go bankcrupt given enough time..
I acknowledge the goals, Im just not sure about the time-frame. Right now I would be happy if devs increased the SG maximum member count so we could include more alts to the main SG. -
[ QUOTE ]
Given the time it is taking to get bases up and running I am interested to know how many SGs are prepared to actually get an item of power so that they can then be raided and have to replace destroyed equipment? Just losing your generator and computer is going to cost 375k to replace let alone databases, teleports etc
Paragon Girl, lvl 50 Ill./Emp. Controller
[/ QUOTE ]
A valid question. I suspect not many. But of course, from my viewpoint, Cryptic obviously wanted base-raiding to be enjoyable only by the privileged few. -

When did using inspirations in the Pvp zones become a lame move???
I just finished having an argument in sirens with 2 villains(they where brothers)and they where saying using inspirations was a cheap move, now ive been playing this game a long time and it is part of the game,so is this just a case of them being sore loosers? or did I do somthing wrong?
Anyway these guys have been(so I was told by someone else in the zone at the time)harassing people,so im not the first and if the guys are reading this !!!GO BACK TO WOW!!!
[/ QUOTE ]
Insps aside, I pay little attention to what people are saying in PvP zones. I have heard enough of "LOL NO SKILZ". It just adds to my dislike about PvP. -
[ QUOTE ]
Not sure if it's WAI exactly, but... how come a Holoprojector or Spirit Advisor costs 97,000 and needs 7 bits of refined salvage - yet generates just 25 Control, when you can buy a Database or Bookshelf for just 8,000 more with no salvage faffing and gain 100 control?
Don't even get me started on Mega Monitors... what other things aren't worth the bother?
[/ QUOTE ]
You have perceived the same thing as I. Monitor bank is another pointless item, even worse than holo projector, iirc costing more salvage and producing less control. -
[ QUOTE ]
Well, get one or two healers into the 40s levelI know that I healed over 5M points in one month (May), just before I dinged 50 with my empath, so shouldn't be _too_ hard to achieve a 10M target...
[/ QUOTE ]
We have - off the top of my head - 3-4 lvl 50 healers (counting not just empaths but empathy trollers, but at least 2 lvl50 emp defenders). Problem is that they arent healing anymore... -
[ QUOTE ]
I remember reading somewhere that this badge is also bugged and the tracking lvl doesn't work. Anyone know if this is the case or am I just talking rubbish?
[/ QUOTE ]
Apparently people thought it was bugged cause the progress bar is massive and is taking ages to fill. A friend of mine mentioned something like 10 million hp for the first healing badge.. No wonder the goonies healing bar is completely stuck at something like 10%, and conveniently our old high lvl healers have left for alting or real life.. -
Heres a link that can be helpful:
link
In short, to resurrect at the base you need
energy terminal 150000
control room 100000
basic generator 225000
main-frame 150000
infirmary 150000
basic reclaimator 10000
Total cost: 785000 prestige.
That's it. 3 rooms, 3 items that can all be purchased, nothing is needed to build from salvage. The salvage built items are *additional* stuff. Generator and main-frame are required for any kind of functionalit, so its best to start from them. I used the cheapest possible stuff.
Personally I don't see a reason for more than one reclaimator at first.. -

Don't think you get any new features available just with a bigger room.
Think your SG needs to keep healing to unlock Spirit Signal/AutoSurgeon upgrader thingy for the Resurrector/Reclamators.
[/ QUOTE ]
I take it the AutoSurgeon improves your health/end when revived? What about the Spirit Signal?
[/ QUOTE ]
Spirit Signal is the Arcane version for use with Rez Circles, AutoSurgeon is Tech. Same thing, different looks and probably different bits of salvage.
[/ QUOTE ]
Afaik the healing SG badge is for the insp dispenser, the reclaimators can be bought from the start and require no salvage.
EDit: hmm ok ,you were talking about some other badge..
