    Iirc the base reclaimators were made not to work in a base raid anyway. If they do work and I'm wrong, then Im happy

    There was some relatively heated discussion some time ago but it has been blissfully forgotten, maybe because the delay of IoP raids.

    I can't imagine a reason for having more than 1 med reclaimator, anybody got good reasons why we should have more than one?

    You can place telepads like other items even if you don't meet the control/energy requirements, however. They will just not function.

    The obvious: if the rooms floor/roof dont allow the placement, or if theres a small deco item blocking it

    Im not sure if you need at least one beacon unlocked before you can place the teleporter though. (TP beacons are unlocked by collecting exploration badges of a hazard zone while in SG mode)

    It doesn't "miss", it just doesn't work. Since it's an AoE, there's a 50% chance that each person you hit won't be taunted.

    Hmm so is this 50% thing triggered like suppression on other status attacks, or is it on constantly in PvP combat?

    Which character would you be using the taunting on? If its your Inv I find in PVP they fall pretty fast especially when I tell all the squishies to run in with brawl on auto Would still be useful with a proper team though. From what I have seen in the PVP zones (and bear in mind I dont have a tank myself) ice tanks seem to be the hardiest build and hardest to take down with CE stopping stalkers and ice patch being seemingly overpowered (or whatever the little ice patch thing that they stand on is called)

    Correct, my tank is pretty [censored] in PvP in all situations. (EDIT: especially in bloodybay/sirens lvl ranges) Must be why I have been so put away with PvP so far. But since my attacks do nothing I see that Im expected to taunt. Or something. Once I was in team with Tg and I think staying close to him made me somewhat safe and I believe could keep him somewhat safer by taunting the enemies.

    The few cases I have had few moments of something resembling fun has been when I have hit my unstoppable, once a four-member team spent at least a minute taking me down in warburg. The rad made sure I couldnt run away nor hurt anyone, but at least "About frigging time lmao" comment made me smile at the end.

    6 slot Taunt with 3 recharge and 3 duration and you can pretty much perma-taunt someone, even with the suppression. Provoke would probably need 2 recharge 2 accuracy 2 duration.

    Didnt Imaginary just say there isnt any taunt suppression? Anyway, I get provoke mainly for better taunt coverage in PvE team situations. I don't think I can spare all the slots in my final build

    And I have never swallowed that explanation. I think its heroic fighting against overwhelming odds(especially if you're a tank ) , Id just like the chance to take someone down with me but debuffs prevent that. Nothing else does, note.

    And about taunt, thanks for the info I plan on respeccing into provoke+taunt and at least 3-slotting them both. Ever since I noticed that I'm supposed to be a taunt-matic in PvP. Theres no going around that fact.

    You can toggle drop the rad player, but thats kinda hard to do when Im so debuffed I can't hit my own nose.

    Well what kind of debuffs are you talking about? tohit debuffs? well fortitude, tactics, defence debuffs(radiation infection, tornado, quicksand and so on). Lots of other powers too.

    Slows, well this one only really have speed boost which is why kin's are allmost needed at higher level PvP. A few sets have resistance to slows like SR and Ice. AB from empathy has protection to slows aswell, but trying to cover a team with AB is quite hard.

    Most things have a counter in this game, infact I can hardly think of a thing that doesnt. Teleport is one of the few things I cant remember a counter for.

    None of those anti-debuff things are available to MY character personally - when Im alone. I meant that suppression prevents excessive use of hold/disorient/sleep/fear/etc but nothing there against debuffs. Worst are -speed and -fly (I cant get away) and -recharge and -acc(i can't fight back). Therefore, I go down.

    EDIT: By the way, is taunt a suppressed ability?

  15. Both fear and immobilize are suppressed in PvP as far as I know. I have tried both with my tank. The suppression period isnt all that long in any of the cases, but enough for a quick getaway.

    (which brings me to my primary complain about debuffs as there isnt anything you can do about them..unlike hold,fear,immob,disorient)

    This change was the biggest letdown with the bases so far. They shouldn't have made it I agree. Afaik earlier unpaid rent made only the items stop working, not the base portal! Give us our bases back!

    I have had a rant several times before, but right now I'm starting to see a little light in all this.. I had thought our SG:s prestige gaining was next to nothing but my friends surprised me last night by saying we had had a plot upgrade and still got some spare prest.

    The above mentioned 'more energy-efficient'-argument is valid to a certain point. After last night we now have all 3 different worktables functioning along with 2 teleporters and 4 beacons. Overall both our energy and control consumption is close to what we can produce, and Im starting to see some sense in the salvage-built control items. However, all control items need to be attached to the main-frame, and there can only be one main-frame in the base(plot restriction). And the large total amount of control needed means we need a lot of databases for the raw control production (+50c each) . Currently we have 4. We can't produce the same amount with salvage items because they produce less control each, and there are only so many attachment slots in the main-frame(and control room).

    Our basic generator is starting to run out of energy (only 100 left so far) so eventually we're gonna need to use salvage-built control items to save on energy. But how to solve the attachment problem? Looks like we need a bigger control room that allows more attachments. Then eventually we'll run out of attachment slots on the main-frame itself, but possibly by then we're close to having enough prestige to buy the supercomputer and we can sell all the previous control stuff to get the required 1,5 million prest. Which will then act as the main-frame for the next generation of control auxiliaries etc..

    In all honesty, I was ranting before because I couldn't see the carrying idea in base development. I thought it was full of holes(ie. the prestige-gap between basic base and 'next generation'-base) but now it's starting to make sense..

    I wonder if my post here makes any sense to anybody.. Anyway I'm starting to feel a little relieved that I don't have to wait for 1 year to add next upgrade to the base after all.

    Ill put here a summary of how I see the control production development of a base:

    1.) buy smallest control room,main-frame
    2.) add databases if you need control
    3.) If energy is starting to run low, make salvage-built control items that are more energy-efficient.
    4.) If you run out of attachment slots, buy bigger control room that allows more auxiliaries(databases et al) attached
    5.) If you run out of control after all attachment slots are filled in the main-frame, sell everything and buy supercomputer(if its unlocked)
    6.) start attaching databases etc to the supercomputer if you need more control
    7.) and so on

    PS.
    I wouldn't count Goonies as very large SG, there are maybe 5-10 different people online daily. Ok there are several people with lvl 50s in the Sg if that has any effect which I doubt. The low lvls are the best at collecting prestige.

    PPS.
    The decorative items need some revamping. Why are the only beds available to the HERO base the ones that have harnesses?!

  21. There may be a considerable buff coming to claws in Issue 7, but so far there are no facts as to what it is. People have suspected shortening of the animations which would make claws take a leap in DPS comparisons.. Then again, Im not an expert.
  22. If anything, I certainly can't see mind as being a weak set, and what matters is that devs don't consider ATs being unbalanced. I don't think I even want mass confuse with its astronomical recharge when I get that far. Sets arent supposed to have same powers. Mind gets 2 AoE holds, note.

    (on another note, I have never understood why people crave after pets so much. Mostly they arent even that good)

    Formations

    There is the /petcom_name with which you can make individual goto binds to each of your henchmen. Meaning just point your mouse somewhere and press the button, henchman a goes there, next button, henchman b goes there etc. Coupled with individual naming of the henchmen it worked quite well for me, although I havent been playing my MM for some time now. Beats just plain /petcom with which you have to target your henchman first before ordering him.
    IIrc the complete command is /petcom_name petname goto (aggressive/Defensive)

    Iirc the above works for more complicated commands like say or emote when you use parentheses, like /petcom_name bob "say bah humbug" Im not entirely sure of the correct form atm but I know it works.
  24. I have all of primary pool and I have never considered taking fighting pool and never will. I have always also considered resistance > defense but thats mostly for me tanking so long in the pre-I5 world. I dislike the whole thought that my overall ability to withstand attacks would be somehow connected to the situation im in. I recognize the skill required in such manner of tanking but I still dislike the whole idea. That keeps grating against my common sense. To herd a group of minions to the AV so you could tank AV better.. UGH!

    The differences between resistance-school and defense-school arent that great imo. You can be a good tanker with either.
