Propably depends on the toon. If you have other form of defense you can stack maneuvers with, then it might be worth it.

yer m8 its like stalkers cant win, we seem to be a target for every other a/t. people want us to not use as or hide but to make things "fair" but they arent willing to drop their defences.
[/ QUOTE ]
Mate stop listening to that sort of rubbish, 'drop hide' yeah rightJust put broadcast away like I do and AS/impale to your hearts content.
Let the others cope with stalker tactics, they are far from unbeatable.
If people would come up with countermeasures(bring another AT along thats useful against one type of tactic) instead of complaining, the overall character spectrum would just diversify. PVP circle is however growing just so slowly that people are often left to cope on their own. -
[ QUOTE ]
You can't go directly to Tactics though, can you? You have to pick something else from the Leadership pool first.
[/ QUOTE ]
Assault is also an option, but tbh I dont know which is better, assault or maneuvers. -
And standing close to the drones also improves perception.
-
[ QUOTE ]
Is there anything in the AR/Eng set to help with perception? Or is it just manuveurs?
[/ QUOTE ]
Tactics improves perception, not maneuvers, but no, I dont think there is anything in those pools..
You could try igniting the ground and then go stand in the fire if you think a stalker is coming for you.. But Id recommend good movement over any other form of defense
I dont have anything to boost my perception either except IR goggles and acc insps
EDITed a typo -
Hey why don't we have one of these threads!
Ok, I got a heal/end redux I'd like to swap to resistance/end redux -

Ok, I've been playing a little PvP with my scrapper and it's been fun, tricky enough and seems to be quite balanced.
That was until I popped into PvP with my lvl 40 AR/Eng blaster. After seeing a stalker chase a defender around warburg, I thought I'd help out, the stalker stopped for a mo so I get close, hit hasten and build up, then let rip with flame thrower, a couple of my quick attacks then full auto, all hit and I get him down to about 65% health before he disappears.
A while later after doing a patrol mission, I phase shift and type a quick message to my SG, at the time I had stealth, combat jumping and acrobatics running, slotted with as much defense as ED allows, phase shift drops and a moment later I see "asassin strike" flash on the screen and two shots later I'm eating floor.
Now first off, am I right in thinking blasters are as useful in PvP as a choclate teapot?
[/ QUOTE ]
If you are hit by As, you are running before the "assassin strike" has registered to your brainPrevent those extra 2 hits landing on you by moving out of range. When you get the initiative, Bonesmasher->energy punch->power thrust-> when theyre flying headfirst to somewhere follow with a big damage blast of your choice. If there are no other enemies, you can even follow power thrust with a snipe when theyre busy lying on their backsides
(slotting snipe with interrupt time reductions is also good)
With my blaster however, bonesmasher, energy punch and power burst usually already equals dead stalker unless theyre fast with respites,DP or whatnotKnockback with power thrust prevents the use of heals for those couple seconds it takes to kill them though.
PS. when in PVP zones, either find a reclusive doorway or type while autorunning to avoid nasty surprises. -

My stalker seems to be pretty much retired for the same reasons listed above, he is only broken out if there are some fun/decent/annoying players who just have to be killed
[/ QUOTE ]
I take this moment to thank you for breaking your stalker out last night, I had great fun in Sirens with my blaster. It was practically my first long PVP session and I liked it
Earlier on, the zone control seemed to shift to heroes completely after my arrival, but later there were so many stalkers about that fighting became quite challenging
Obivously stalkers had a score to settle with my blaster, getting triple ASed in the back at one point hehe..
As before, I havent perceived stalkers to be particularly troublesome, I wish there were more players of OTHER ATs as well though. Some ATs may need boosting in PVP while stalkers dont necessarily need nerfing. Stalkers CAN be a pain in large numbers, but that would apply to several other ATs as well. Imo fighting two robot/ff MMS at once is tougher than fighting 5 stalkers, Id say..
I dont think I was one-shotted more than once last night, which makes 2 times in total. I think its because I dont stand still long enough for stalkers to get both buildup and AS off.. I think thats ok for someone whose only defense is combat jumping and insp tray..
I have to admit I kept broadcast hidden away most of the time so I don't know if there were many moaners about, but I wasnt one of the moaners, believe meIn general there will always be moaners, but ruling out broadcast usually helps a lot
However, we should try to make a difference between kids who think they are ubah in PVP with their stalkers straight outta the box, and PVE people who just cannot get into PVP and thus are moaning. The latter people need helping out, not getting laughed at.

Plus, I put him on follow, so I rarely lose track, that way i can concentrate on attacking the mitos
Always works well for me
[/ QUOTE ]
Works for a blaster maybe, but since Honsou didnt seem to engage the Mitos himself, follow didnt get me close enough for my melee attacks to hit. I had to use target closest enemy and follow to get me to the mito.
Making a keybind for follow was extremely useful though
And Honsou did get "offline or out of range" several times for me too. -

The decision to go with "pure holds" rather than people with epics, and not to have a blasting phase at the end meant that the lag could not creep up and sucker punch us. I was more than happy to watch the Controllers control at the end.
The best bit was during the "everyone brawl Hami" phase, most exilharating running off Cowards Hill to stick an Energy Blast on Hami. I did 0.14 points of damage, go me!
[/ QUOTE ]
Nothing impure about my hold, but Ill still happily sit on the sidelines waiting if it will get us a succesful raid.
Obviously we have enough holders and enough buffers now, I can't wait to see us in action again!
I didnt try brawling, cause I thought having 2 controllers in my team would be enough. I didnt get HO, served me right :P I did get it later as a gift.. Thanks.
There were still some minor problems, but luckily we didnt get hindered by them. After returning to Cowards hill, 2 GMs were aggroed somehow, luckily the lag from the fight didnt affect the holding phase. -
[ QUOTE ]
Well the holding fase took 10 mins or so, so it wasnt that long.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, felt like Hami was held almost instantly and before we knew it, he was below 50%.. We must have done something right
Iirc there were around 30 controllers in the hive? Did anybody check? -
Good job and thanks all, Im really happy to know that Hami can actually be done post-ED even on our patchy server
Now to line up for the next one.. Jell-o-season is open! -

Raid window is whenever we send you a raid invite, or vice-versa. Once the invite is sent, you have 5 minutes to join the raid by opening the supergroup tab, clicking the "Raid" button and then clicking "Join" on the relevant raid.
And yeah, it's 8pm London time.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, I meant how long does the raid last, as I don't think we can kill you all at the same time...
I'd prefer defending base despite us being underdogs, to see how the defensive items work and get ideas about the defense etc. -
I guess we can have a go at wednesday then.. With however many people show up. I'm gonna be surprised if more than one teams worth of Goonies show up, though..
Lets see where Arch Sectors loyalties lie..
Hmm.. How long is the raid window and did 8pm signify London time? -
[ QUOTE ]
OK, I don't see what the big deal is, I mean PvPing heroes is for fun, no Xp debt for when you get killed, and you get big army battles between longbow and arachnos, I love PvP and for that I abandoned my lvl 21 MM to build up a dark corruptor, because siren's call is so fun.
[/ QUOTE ]
The aforementioned longbow and arachnos cause debt if they kill you... -

Frost Wolf would never bow down to another man, is the whole Alpha Wolf thing, but a dead broad who's going to give him a cute chick to boss around, that he can respect
[/ QUOTE ]Why do I get the feeling that Ghost wiow is going to be the most popular patron?

Sharks are lame, I don't want more weapons, so that leaves just scirocco and Ghost widow. Propably Ghost widow since dark works better conceptually. -

Bonesmasher) on automatic execution (have the green ring around it) and when you get ASed, have the "target nearest enemy" (default ctrl+tab) handy.
[/ QUOTE ]
Could you explain a little more about "automatic execution"? Dunno what it is.
[/ QUOTE ]
If you press Control-key while clicking a power, a green circle will appear around the power icon. This will mean the power is on 'auto' and will execute automatically when it is ready. Repeating the procedure will remove the auto.
If you put this on an attack, the attack will fire when it has a valid target, ie. immediately when you have targeted someone and are in range.
EDIT: you can't have more than one power on auto at any given time. -
What about a moment of intangibility after entering (like PVP zones), but with a timer that could be interrupted by the player him/herself so they could 'get right back into the action'?
This would protect the players when they are loading, but wouldnt hinder those who are ready. Imo the intangibility should also root the players, so it couldnt be used tactically(apart from toggling up). The rooting would cancel once the players themselves cancel the intangibility. Allowing people with good reflexes to escape attempts of immob/hold/camping etc.
Intangibility should of course run out after a timer like 15 seconds or so. -
Well the reply said "at this time".. Heres hoping they'll change it in the future..

[ QUOTE ]
It don't thinkg Reward > Risk for any SG unless they make some pretty big changes.
That said, we don't actually know what the chances are for items to be permanently destroyed (well I don't anyway).
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree.. Even if you had an SG of 75 mad dog 24-hour prestige earners, the risk/reward ratio isnt changing anywhere.. IOPs remain as junk..
Even if we still dont know the base chance of recovery, I have a hunch it isnt very high..
One worktable/forge can have 1 auxiliary, which can be robotic fabricator/flames of hephaestus. Each robotic fabricator/flames of hephaestus will increase chance of recovery by 5%, So if you have for instance 2 workshops with 2 tables each, you can add total of 4 auxiliaries improving the chance by 20% total etc..
But.. I dont know whether the said auxiliaries+worktables are destructible... o_O Does anyone know? Anybody tried?
Defense items can have auto repair/resurrectors as auxiliaries that repair the attached items.. I wish they'd make the same sort of auxes for energy/control items too.. -

1) If you see someone during the raid who has a cape and/or aura and you send them tells to change their cossie and they don't so you keep sending tells till they leave ( to change cossie or not to return) isn't that bullying?
[/ QUOTE ]
Not in my opinion, youre free to /ignore the poster in question, but if one person behaves stupidly during a raid he is most likely to get abuse from much more people than just the organizers. How about the 75+ people (french had in excess of 200 people last raid iirc) in the hive at that point. If youre willing to give that sort of reputation to yourself, youre free to do so. I'd advise against it though. The organizers already risk it making themselves prime targets for abuse, so Id give them some slack.
And there are much much worse things you can do to sabotage the event than wear a cape. People who complain about capes in this manner are more likely to do something else stupid, this is just how it is. Lets say that even if youre free to express your opinions, there are intelligent opinions and less intelligent opinions, and lets face it, your post could have been better worded. Hence the response like it was. Plus this has been discussed zillion times before.
[ QUOTE ]
2)If you do see someone waiting out side the hive with a cape and/or aura will you be telling them not to enter and denying them access to explore this zone if they had never been there?
[/ QUOTE ]
Nobody can deny access to a zone except maybe moderators.
[ QUOTE ]
LOL me controlling, I'm just asking things I'm not the one tellings peeps what they can and can't do.

"Trolling" meant a slightly different thing in this case..
It means to purposefully and repeatedly post pointless and degenerative things to a thread.
I hope you dont get my meaning wrong, but you must understand that common endeavour of this magnitude will require sacrifices on everyones part. -
Hamidon Raid is organised to everyones benefit, not just yours.
The strategies are compiled from the experiences of numerous raids here and in US.
If you think it could be done better, you're free to organize your own raid. -
[ QUOTE ]
It costs you no money to remove your cape and your aura, and as I've already said I have offered to GIVE you money to put it back if it's really that important to you and you can't afford it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Plus I think there are free tailor sessions coming again soon because of the troubles /cov bug caused? -
I will ask around and inform in this thread whether its ok to have raid(s) at that time.. Don't hold your breath as we are primarily PvE people, like I said.
