    Low expectations

a.) I have used the term herding when I meant the gathering one mob spawn, I guess i have been wrong, this is why I hate terminology. Everybody can read it the way they want.

b.) You seem to persist on preaching to me what I should be enjoying. Sorry for me believing it should be my decision.

    c.) I do not want god-mode.

Read my words wrong if you insist, I dont care anymore.

EDIT: Congrats Gonk for being the first person I have ever globally ignored. Good bye.

When i look at the figures on herobuilder for mace and compare it to all other sets i'd expect clobber to be an amazing disorient to make up for some lackings.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It IS an amazing disorient. I took it while levelling my tank up to the mid-20's (solo for the most part) and it helped my survivability a lot. Stun the lt -> defeat the minion -> stun the lt again -> defeat the lt. I respecced it out at lvl 24 because by that time I didn't need to remove a bad guy from the fight in order to survive it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It is a decent disorient, its weakness is its slow recharge. Not worse than other AT/sets, but since its my only reliable mez apart from epics I'd need something more.. 20 second recharge makes it pretty worthless in pvp. Apart from few odd occasions in teams (solo pvp is out of the question)

Personally Id MUCH more like to have jawbreaker available earlier in place of clobber. Im propably respeccing it away next time.

Ok not to hot on the base raiding and IoP's but i think i get the general requirements.

For a non IoP base raid - all you need is a raid teleporter to make one once agreement between the SG's is arranged - but do you need one to be raided if you wish to arrange one? (any bugs that are around right now not withstanding)

    [/ QUOTE ]

You dont. Only the attacker needs one. Goonies have defended once and we didnt have raid tp.

    [ QUOTE ]

For an IoP you need the raid teleporter, anchors (6 of them i believe) and somewhere to put it (not after the actual requirements as i know they are covered in this section of the forums) To get the IoP you do a TF and on successful completion of the TF the IoP is placed in your base automatically.

So those that do PvE and are not interested in PvP would be faced with having at least one raid against their base- possibly losing lots of base equipment in the process. My question on this is if after a sucessfull TF and the IoP is gained what happens if you sell the anchors/items so you no longer meet the requirements to hold an IoP - do you lose the IoP and therefore stop any raids happening or are you unable to sell the required items to hold an IoP once one is gained?

    [/ QUOTE ] no idea.

nope hammer, you never did that in the times we teamed, the 'herding step back and dont play till i say' so attitude, has strangely become a lot more apparent since the tank supposedly became incapable of doing their jobs.

    [/ QUOTE ]
It is, because my friend, team must hold back in order to allow tank do its job succesfully. Most tanks shouldnt be content with just scranking. Thank the changes. I know tanks did that back in the olden days as well, and it was about massive herds back then which i disliked, but now it is really necessary even for just one mob spawn.

    [ QUOTE ]

tanks are not gods on two legs anymore, they are part of the team and they need the team, just like the rest of the team.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think we all agree on this, so maybe its time to stop advertising it at every opportunity. Unless you like to rub salt in other peoples wounds.
  5. [ QUOTE ]
Does the PvP rep go down if you've not been in a PvP zone for a while?
Mine seems to be doing that...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, it goes down in general and only goes up if you win.
  6. Hammerfall

You have this knack of making infuriating posts.. Are you implying that I did that sort of whole floor herding back in I4-times?
  7. Hammerfall

    Low expectations

    [ QUOTE ]
Sorry but this is exactly what the devs intended with their nerfs. They don't want the tank to be able to do his job.

As mr cuddles, even with taunt and provoke, once you hit the 17 cap, your team are in trouble.

It should still be possible for a tank to completely protect his team from ONE spawn though. I gues some people build tanks to be scrappers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So i guess the devs intended the tanks to be the least played archetype.. I guess that solves the powerset problem, if nobody playes tanks, they dont need new powersets..

In theory tank should be able to hold one spawn on him yes, when I try charging in and collecting the mobs with invinc I find that the mobs are suddenly mass immobilized 1 sec after I said ready, or knocked back away or what not. Sigh.
  8. [ QUOTE ]

Seeing as I was easy pickings and offering no rep, bounty or challenge, what is it that these people were getting out of the battle last night?

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is a pretty good question.. imo if opposing teams are pushed back to base then its a sign of supremacy from the other side and they might aswell pull back to 'downtown' area and wait for the enemies to regroup. Trying to gank the bases is neither fun nor very meaningful..

I usually get so depressed by the poor displays (and the debt I get) that I'll switch to Faulty and come on to show these youngsters how it's done. Am I the only one that feels sad that people no longer feel safe with a tank on the team?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't think you are alone.. I don't play my tank anymore since I couldnt get over the fact that someone always died no matter what I did. Tanks can't keep teams safe on their own anymore, it requires much more coordinated effort from the whole team now.. I dont expect anything from tanks these days.
  10. [ QUOTE ]
I agree too, mace is gimped only the finest players could get a mace tanker to level 50.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Despite good attempts to cheer me up I still feel depressed about my tank
  11. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
Mace is generally considered a bit rubbish, the others are all okay.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Dont dismiss it like that please. It's got great single target damage and 3 attacks do knockup or knockback. It has one cone and one pbaoe which does disorient so in that respect it's got good aoe and control potential too. It's also got a single target disorient.

In pvp I have kept people permenantly on the floor using mace attacks so it's far from rubbish.

In pve the disorient and knockup/down can reduce incoming damage nicely. Also, the knockup and back can keep a boss on his back too (especially if you take air superiority too as I did)

The thing that lets it down is that like axe, the damage is lethal so it's often resisted in the late game.

It's also not chosen very much as a powerset so if you want to be fairly unique in the world of coh, choose mace.

It's a much maligned set that might be less favourable to a power gamer but it's still damn usefl and I would place it above axe so please dont dismiss it like that.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I encourage him to dismiss it like I do.

I don't agree with your post at all. (EDIT: apart from being unique if you choose mace..)

the old kick bugs the same bug that hits the arena battles too, let you in for 2 seconds then boots you - similar to the timing of the zoning rubber banding thing...

    [/ QUOTE ]

I used to have different timing on my kickouts.. It was practically instant. Barely able to see the base flash for a frame or so..
  13. [ QUOTE ]
One of my characters can't even get in her base any longer as she gets kicked out immediatly. Bases suck atm.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Either you havent payed rent or then its the bug I have sometimes.. log out and back in and it should be sorted.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
im thinkin that if we get a lvl50 PVP area and arena,we will have more peeps that want to play PVP.
why?! imho its not so much fun to have a lvl50 build and then not be able to play with it in PVP,cause u are being nerfed to a lower lvl... [thats how ic it]

now people have to build a toon for PVP or PVE or both, so i really think the problem is related to that.
i like PVP but wanna play it with a full build toon.
we DollarDawgs are going to form a PVP team in the future, but we are really lOOkin forward to a lvl50 PVP!

    [/ QUOTE ]

I guess you mean villains as heroes can already play 50s in the arena.
    [ QUOTE ]

and then there is the running away...
    PVP = Player versus Player?
then why is 90% always running away?!

    [/ QUOTE ]
Not every character is built for close combat.. Allowing a brute to close in on the squishy is just bad play. Its how the game is designed. Moving about and maneuvering the enviroment to your advantage is part of PVP for me. There is more to it than just standing still and cycling thru attack chains, you know. (I wish they'd make the travel powers more even though..) Sure, I don't mean everyone plays like this and I don't like running to base myself either, but I can't fault it tactically.

    [ QUOTE ]

i think this is because of peeps being overpowerd by lvl50 toons fully slotted[so its no use to enter pvp now wen u dont got a lvl50 toon]

pvp is fun wen u got a lvl50 toon and get in there, but with lower toons and lightly slotted...
its not really balanced imho like this.
i know we are all same lvl in PVP but its the slots that make the difference.

so a lvl50 PVP would be verry welcome to me!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Don't generalize. My 50 tank is [censored].
  15. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]

The only rules I have are "no travel powers" , "limit stealth" for the tournament and "no Kheldians" (lvl 50s are welcome though)

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've seen your post and think it's exellent you're organising it but...meh....no travelpowers, thats why I've never showed up....sorry

    [/ QUOTE ]

Same here really.. My blaster only has mobility to protect him..
  16. [ QUOTE ]

Problem with Arena is that you have to go to the arena to check on a terminal to see if any matches are going etc. If you don't check the boards or have arena chat on and lets face it, the majority of players dont use arena or these boards. The thing with PvP zones is well they are PvP zones and for those that don't feel like using their game time to setup matches can usually head there and get a little bit of action in once in a while.

    [/ QUOTE ]

How about if the system would make a post to the Arena channel everytime a player lists an event..or maybe even joins an event. in theory players could do it themselves but I think it'd work better if the game did it. Players are lazy after all That way you could see the lvl-range, person setting up the event etc and the time when it was set up.. or something.
  17. Umm..no, imo PVP != arena, arena is just part of it.. Personally I have never been all that fascinated about arenas.. It might be cool to try some duels or something but in general arena doesnt excite me..

I love stalkers, they rock and tbh unless you've played one you really don't know how good it feels to stalk and AS someone. Its a fitting revenge for the hell we have to go through in early level bank raids

    [/ QUOTE ]

I am sorry but you are saying that stalkers should one shot squishies because they have a hard time in bank raids??

    [/ QUOTE ]

TG, stop taking everything so seriously..
  19. [ QUOTE ]
CM is awesome V newbie stalkers but experienced ones can ruin your day, as I always say just because you ahve the ability to see them doesnt mean you will

    [/ QUOTE ]

Now I'm really interested whats behind this statement..
  20. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
In the case of finding a solution to stalkers, its often earning another respec, then adding in another three or four powers to help you to merely spot them, and even then normally needing stalker-detector teammates. xP

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Yup.

    [/ QUOTE ]

One defender clear mind seems to be enough to own stalkers .. Seriously, I didn't know the power was THAT good before I had experienced the ultimate purple glowing radar head..
  21. Hammerfall

    Stalkers...

    [ QUOTE ]
    Yup spot on Krunch

Could maybe get away with a Blapper/Stalker cross aswell using defiance and aim+bu with invis and superspeed. It would certainly hurt although the fly/snipe option is maybe safer.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, well, I've seen couple defiance blasters in Sirens lately (Colonel Greek etc heh). The idea is interesting but Im not sure if its all that productive. Namely they seem to be about fly, invis, snipe, buidup etc. Drop down from high to trigger defiance while stealthed and snipe the targets.. Sorry Greek for letting the people know your concept

I dont't think you get the choice whether or not to place the IoP. I'm fairly sure that you can't run the trial without having a raidable base, and the IoP just appears in the vault room when you're finished.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I suspect the IoP will replace the IoP base once the TF is succesfully finished. I guess the IoP base needs to be put into the vault beforehand. (I cant think of any other use for the IoP base)
  24. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
One other thing I heard/read (hopefully true) is it doesnt have to be your own sg. Other members can join in but ofcourse they wont get the IoP.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That would make sense to me, thinking about it now. If the raid is along the lines as those regular SG Mission computer missions, you should be able to take anyone you want with you, right? Er, that's assuming that the regular missions you can take anyone in with you, providing you let them into your base...

That would work well for those SGs with a coalition to their retired lvl 50 group, so that they won't need to move their 50s around to do the trial and pick up an IoP.

Would also mean the roving band of IoP picker uppers wouldn't have to leave their SG either.

I wonder, if this works, and the IoP goes to the SG who's base it was started in (basically), does the prestige get split between the SGs that participated?

    Shrug.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Since other coalition members can use the SGs own telepads, and the TF propably starts at the raid telepad, I suspect it could be possible for at least coalition members to join the raid, but Im of course only guessing.
  25. [ QUOTE ]
im sorry but ur mad, stop whining its one power

u should be standing around for ages in pvp for someoen to meele detoggle u , durr, simple

    [/ QUOTE ]

You don't have to 'stand' at all, anywhere, anytime, superspeeding, jumping, flying whatnot.. It is possible.
