I guess its time to break away from the 'never ignore' idea and start juggling names as my list maxes out again.
[/ QUOTE ]
Piece of friendly advice, its easier to remove broadcast and private messages from the topmost chat tab instead when youre in PVP zoneBut ignoring certain people does help.
Also one thing is not to answer their insults even if you see them on your tabs. Answering will just fuel fuming people further and what you say is irrelevant to them.
Petitioning should be done so people may have to learn to keep their cool better.
PS: It takes a lot to anger me in PVP zones these days, if Im tp-foe ganked, 5 against 1 or something, Im ok with that. Tp foe to drones is something that I strongly dislike though, it takes the fun factor away. -

I believe rent is every two weeks, not monthly.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oops you may be correct. My bad. -
[ QUOTE ]
I'm not going to name the person in question as this thread is not about flaming.

Its against forum rules anyway. -
Hi.
1.) You have to pay rent once a month if you own a base at all, but I don't know exactly what rent is based on. I'd like an answer to that myself. I think it is based on total prestige amount you own. whether in base or just on your bankroll.
2.) When Issue 7 comes, you will have some cheap functional items to build, the inspiration, enhancement and salvage storage.
Currently though, there isnt much, because you will need a generator room with basic generator, control room with mainframe before you can build anything else functional (these items, generator and mainframe, produce energy and control that most other functional items need before they function).
My personal opinion is, that after you have had your energy and control sorted out (unfortunately that may take a long time) you should build a workshop to build basic telepads which are the most useful actually functioning items in my opinion. Then build transport room to put the telepads into.
And don't bother building mission computer, it is useless. -
Oh broaden your perspective. If there wouldnt be tactics for survival and everyone would just charge headfirst to get kills or die trying, pvp would be very boring due to being one-dimensional.

Care to list the advantages Fly has in PvP?
[/ QUOTE ]
Hmm.. how about:
Switch on fly
target enemy
click follow
queue bonesmasher
-
Im tentatively interested, although we might find ourselves with I7 if we tarry with this too long
-
[ QUOTE ]
I've also found out Dominators can get +20% resistance out of Tough from the Fighting Pool, which means 56% S/L res combined with the Mu armour...
[/ QUOTE ]
gah?! -
I also find fly much more useful than SJ, but not by itself. My blaster uses mainly superspeed and fly to get around and I like it. Fly allows to me to attack anyone, anywhere, while superspeed provides me the speed to chase and escape. edit: combined with combat jumping to avoid getting stuck.
Although Flys uses become apparent in the pvp zones, in arena its not nearly as useful. -
[ QUOTE ]
It doesn't work if you have no insps left (which doesn't take long in PvP) and no mez-protection. On that last occasion I logged out and in again and got out of the zone under PvP protection. It comes to something when you have to use an exploit just to leave a PvP zone
I say teleganking got me out of the PvP habit because I fully intended to go back after levelling up a couple of munchkinised PvP characters and getting a regular team together, but I got distracted by altitis. I still want to get back into PvP but I'll be taking nothing that doesn't stand a chance against hospital camping telegankers.
[/ QUOTE ]
For some people there is the option of rezzing at SG base too.. -
I guess this was back when bloody bay was free for all?
-
Well in I7 you regroup your team, pop 4 defense insps each, Squash the silly hero team doing this and run the blockade
edit: actually it works even now. -

if he's able to stand in a group of heros, turn invis off and get away an AS then this clearly shows the state of PvP in the mighty USA.

12) --> Hurdle==> Jump(12) Jump(42) Jump(42)
14) --> Super Jump==> Jump(14)
[/ QUOTE ]
You really really want to be able to jump tall buildings in a single bound don't you?
Personally, I quite like your build, but I play scrappers, so don't take me seriously at all! (until it's the scrapper survives the team wipe........ again!!)
[/ QUOTE ]
I think the reason for the slots there is emphasis on unsuppressed movement (combat jumping). Thus only basic slot in SJ. Personally I say the slots in hurdle arent really needed. -
Well there is the one-shot-prevention change coming to AS. I have no idea whether its any good, as there has been very little chance to experiment on test server for me. Simply not enough villains (and zones apart from recluses victory are mostly abandoned).

Plight's SG:P
..srry about it:P
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, I noticed that. Effective, maybe, but I dont need to use such tactics to get kills.
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
, and then if that wasnt enough, they were calling someone a n00b for droning them throughout the fighting? xP''
[/ QUOTE ]
that has another reason.. who's ALWAYS drone TP'ing...ALWAYS...yeah saw her once in the field but thats it..
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, well, lets not to get calling names but I almost developed a grudge. Thankfully I managed to kill her(him?) couple of times from near the drones without dying myself.. She ASed me once in the field when i was typing but thats all the non-tping activity I witnessed. -
Hmm about the last bit, there was at least one person on the hero side who was too open with his mouth I remember. Especially with the word n00b. I remember him getting kicked from the team I was in at some point(not by me), unfortunately there will always be people like that, and I apologize on behalf of heroes for such behaviour.
About the teleporting, personally I cant stand droning and dont do it myself (I dont have characters with tp foe atm even). Tp foeing into gank squad is ok from my eyes, simply because more often that not, that situation is easy to escape. The number of times I have been killed with tp foe and NOT drones, can be counted with fingers of one foot. Ok maybe once or twice during the hours Ive spent at sirens call. Tp-ganking wont propably work on me unless you remember to really use those movement-impairing powers like tar patch.. and for some reason villains dont.
I dont camp weak spots at bases either, unless I want to get someone who has managed to escape me several times already. In which case I drop by, do the kill and leave, nothing more.
Out of all the tactics, tping into drones is the only one I cant tolerate (because drones cant be escaped) . But I wasnt complaining about it too loudly I think.
Overall I try to be tolerant to any behaviour because those things pass. There will always be idiots in pvp zones, and we just have to tolerate them. Starting flame wars on broadcast doesnt lead anywhere except loss of enjoyment for everyone, even the good players.
Lets all just take it easy
ps. I try to lay off attacking people I have beaten couple of times already, but sometimes it just doesnt work, as a.) there usually isnt that much choice to choose from, and b.) I often end up among prime targets for villains so those people keep coming at me, heh. -
[ QUOTE ]
To stalkobot, Surely you would keep hide on, drop invis(possibly turn on stealth), AS then run?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, its not like invisibility was suddenly added to the game or something, its been there all the time. Stalkers simply havent used it because they havent needed it so far. Im certain that having a group of stalkers each with grant invis is much more useful in the long run. Then you can be at stealth cap and attack at the same time.. Problem is that stalkers seem to want to solo much..
I admit that the one time I witnessed use of grant invis in sirens call, I was shocked how effective it was.. I was affected by 2 clear minds and tactics but I couldn't see jack.... o_o
Of course, these ways to get to stealth cap have been there all the time, people have not used them. As long as there are stalkers like that, there can be hunters, and its not like stalkerhunters can't attack other villain ATs as well.. -
[ QUOTE ]
So just keep moving?
[/ QUOTE ]
I quote this as this is the best single piece of advice against stalkers I know. Not only with invis, but even with just hide+stealth, ASing a quick character who doesnt go past same spots twice (like me with superspeed) is nearly impossible in my opinion. I have now played number of hours in sirens call and I most often get ASed in one of these possible scenarios:
a.) I stop to type
b.) Im fighting another villain in which case im backstabbed
c.) I stand huddled with another heroes
Out of these, the first two are very very common.
In very few occasions I have been crit impaled or something from my movement, those have been close calls but usually ended in the death of the stalker, not me.
Ok, just keeping moving on keeps you safe, but doesnt make stalkers come out of hiding either -
Heh QIsnake, I distinctly remember fighting character named skullgate not too far back (I wasnt there last night though). Sorry for the beating
Personally I havent seen stalkers as all that overpowered at any time, so I dont mind the I7 buffs they are receiving.. Although I must admit I havent seen stalkers using grant invis or invisibility as much as they should have, despite spending quite a few hours in Sirens call. The one time there were stalkers utilizing grant invis properly was like a revelation to me.. So I may have to retract my statement later.. But so far I still say stalkers arent overpowered, and might need some love instead.. -

i've sat in sirens with my mind dom spamming holds at SR scrappers with practiced brawler on and i can vouch for how hard it is to get past click mez protection and thats with TK.

Well since youre on defiant I can bring my tank around sometime if you want a test on a toggle mez-protection -

I dont know about superstrength, but I dont think you need a second end redux in Temp.inv if you have 3-slotted stamina.. One more slot to put somewhere..
[/ QUOTE ]
In SherkSilver's planner it's listed as costing 0,32 EPS. 1x +3 SO brings it down to 0,23 EPS and 2 +3 SOs 0,18 EPS, so I don't know. Would it be recommendable to remove one of them with that cost?
[/ QUOTE ]
Well with my current tank I have just 1 end redux in each toggle and each attack iirc, and with 3-slotted stamina i have no trouble with end, even if I use fly most of the time.. Ok, I will run out of end eventually if I fight continuously while flying, but on ground i have little trouble..
This is why I dont like messing with numbers too much, you might get the wrong picture.. -

[ QUOTE ]
because click mez protect is harder to beat than toggle mez.
[/ QUOTE ]
Why? Personally I don't know the magnitude resistances of the mez-protect powers but afaik there is no particular difference in favor of the clicky powers.. The one advantage clickys do have, is that the resists arent dropped when the character gets held like in the case of toggles, so the holds afaik wear off sooner because resistances are still in effect as long as clicky power is still affecting character? Please correct me if Im on the wrong track.. -

An empath has to team, too, and i don't see any whining about it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Empaths are support AT's, looks as if stalkers will be soon as well.
[/ QUOTE ]
Support ATs are those that buff friends, the other class is those that kill the enemy. I think stalkers still belong to the latter class.
