Anyway, now I've half a mind to delete him as there seem to be so many and its taking a lot of the fun of the game away from a lot of people. I enjoy the idea of playing WITH people, not just beating people. So should I delete him? Or turn him into the 'Honourable Villain'?
[/ QUOTE ]
This is going slightly offtopic, but I'd say don't delete it, if you think playing stalker would be fun. You're fully entitled to having fun playing in this game, don't let others spoil it. I also made a stalker after the event, and I intend to play it all the way to 50
Stalkers aren't that overpowered, as has been said before. Having stalkers there actually creates the exciting sensation of cold waves up your spine when you enter a PVP zone -
I had stealth and invis on my test event toon, and I liked it. Dunno about macros, my sequence was alt+1(engage stealth, drops invis automatically),z(buildup), 1(AS). Dunno I have more nimble fingers than most but I could hit that sequence in about same time as most people hit one button..
I definitely recommend stealth, more often than not it seemed enough to have hide+stealth, but for more difficult cases I used hide+invis to scout targets. -
Yes, I see you know what you are talking about
I was preparing my next post of two words "mez resist"..
I see only one way for kheldians in pvp and that is dwarf form. 90% propably in it and the rest is when dwarf gets toggle dropped.
One thing that really irked me in the event was the lack of insp sellers, hence no bfs. I dont think PB had good enough damage capacity to justify the lack of mez resist. -
[ QUOTE ]
Auto-Click Brawl for the Toggle Drops if they get close and use Siphon Speed to get you free and Ice/Increase Density to lock them down.
[/ QUOTE ]
Brawl is dead come I7, and so are other toggledrops.
On another note, I think having concealment pool is ok if you combine it with fly and keep your distance to the battle field, flying closer if you spot suitable targets and surprise attack. FA... well theres still other zones than RV. -
I played a lvl 40 human form scrappery PB in test server event with stamina/acrobatics and it was propably the worst character ive ever taken to PVP.
-
Respites then, but at this point it should be apparent that letting a stalker hit you is a bad idea.
-

Knocking people without a vertical travel power off the top of the tower would be fantastic amounts of fun!
[/ QUOTE ]
I wonder how they got there in the first place -
It is always better option to stop stalker ASing in the first place.. Sometimes you can survive AS but not against all stalkers..
-
I agree that escaping the followup ranged attack is nearly impossible. I have no experience from spines, but at least claws ranged attack, focus, is so fast it will hit about 100% as a followup without placate.
Only ideas that I have are either a.) self heal of somesort or b.) mez them somehow, like maybe knockback or something. (ninjitsu has no inherent knockback protection at least. I dont know about other sets). If they go for placate after AS, then you DO have enough time to outrun them because of placate's longish animation. But if they don't, some sort of selfheal should be enough to keep you alive and maybe turn the tables somehow.
Overall you'd need selfheal, defense boost or something because both claws and spines ranged attack has quite short recharge. So you cant just jump around them and pepper them with your normal ranged attacks cause they just pepper you back, and you had just been hit with AS for starters..
Interesting dilemma
PS. just checked, Focus from claws has about 1 sec shorter activation than impale..
PPS. Ive only just started to play with a stalker and im not really good in PVP, but I like to think problems over -

True guys, but it doesn't amount to much more than PLing your badges? I think I could just about bare this if everyone on the team was 50 so there was no xp involved, but it still doesnt quite sit well with the OP for me. I know that day to day missions are less intense than the method hammerfall suggests, and I agree it sounds good, but I think if you just keep your empaths/healers on crazy 8 teams then we should do ok, I'll be playing my kin a bit more hopefully, and plight T and B are always healing
Plight
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, Id have much preferred crazy teams with empaths, but we didnt have empaths. All we practically got was one troller with empath secondary and one rad defender and I was getting frustrated after several months of the bar not moving(and im talking of 'just' the first badge here). Our loved empath queen had walked from the game some time agoand other empath doesnt want to play his 50 empath..

Healing others... hmm kind of makes me miss the dreck mass herding, use to rack up tonnes of healing points being the solo healer and trying to keep that tank alive... anyway we might be able to use the same method for racking up healing points for the sg badge we just need a really good tank
[/ QUOTE ]
True, Only actual damage healed counts, not just spamming heal.
This is how the Goonies got the healing badge after trying various different methods. We got a team and a mission on invincible against a suitable opponent, in our case the hydramen. Then two tanks pulled together a suitable mob, and just taunted taking damage. Healer(s) were healing with area heal. Once the enemies end bars were depleted, we killed them and pulled together next mob and so on.
Mindnumbingly boring but we finally got the frigging badge.
Trying to do the same outside in zones didnt work nearly as well as doing it inside a mission. -

Imo the resists dont matter as much if we stalk properly, as afaik crits and most of AS are unresistable damage no matter what the powerset. Its different if somebody wants to scrap..
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually Stalker criticals don't contain unresistable damage, the only unresistable damage a stalker has is assassin strike.
Only scrapper criticals are unresistable, not stalkers.
[/ QUOTE ]
I stand corrected -
[ QUOTE ]
I think claws/spines is the way to go as it will have most blasters crying because they can't kite you from midair and they just can't get in melee range to hit you with BU+Aim+TF or another such combo.
I got alot of blasters this way
[/ QUOTE ]
Although I preferred ASing, I could kill squishies from safe distance by peppering them with focus too -
[ QUOTE ]
must admit that i played a MA/NIN too duringthe event and yes it not as weak as i though. just i am very amazed to see how difficult it is to hit trough elude even with BU 3acc and 3 acc in each power. i wonder how can do otherset that don't have the acc bonus inherent to MA.
[/ QUOTE ]
I wouldn't try to hit thru elude, I just follow them until their end bars drop, watch them try to jump away like gimped rabbits and come to collect the easy win. - well at least in theory, heh
-

I played MA on test server event and it definitely wasnt weak. I still prefer claws because of ranged attack and knockdown. I dont want to use spines because everybody else does, and villain claws are much coolerAnd of course claws are faster..

Tested it in RV last night. Stalkers are repulsed, not thrown with KB protection so Replusion field does block AS successfully unless the Air Drop is used.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree, did it myself, although tried only on force bubble and earthquake. I didnt manage to AS..
Is there someone there with the blaster epic repulsion field already? (lvl 41 power after all) -

acrobatics is just useless, it detoggles for nothing.
i'd advice you to skip it and get yourself a heavy meele attack, total focus is great..
[/ QUOTE ]
It detoggles NOW, but its a different world once I7 hits live. -
I have made a lvl 40 robot/poison MM on test server event, and Ill try to test. I dont think any of the poison powers have -fly รก la air superiority. Im not sure that weaken even has a slow component.
So far Ive used neurotoxic breath to slow down the opponents.
ps. Poison rocks! Its just very, very squishy..
-
I have made so far a robot/poison matermind, MA/nin stalker and En/invul brute.
The mastermind is great apart from being a double-edged sword.. On the other hand the combo of debuffs plus robots is scary destructive, I think I took down a granite tank solo in about 20 seconds.. Difficult to be sure in the pvp chaosOn the downside poison is propably the squishiest MM along with trick arrow propably..
I liked playing a high level stalker as wellI didnt notice that I wouldve been spotted that well, but of course hero scrappers were missing their focused accuracy there..
The brute felt a bit too weak and disappointed me somewhat. More difficult to stay alive with him than with the MM still.. hmm. None of the characters felt overpowered though. But RV was filled with scrappers/tanks
Only bug I found so far was an invisible obstacle on the pedestal behind Atlas statue.. Maybe its got something to do with the morphing of Atlas/recluse. -
I have had my attacks "absorbed" by a scrapper I suspect used MoG.
The new terms and the fact you cant see opponents powers adds a certain amount of mystification to the PVP.I like it kinda..
Bridger has already posted about these, for instance "eluded" is intended to signify that the attack missed because the enemy had high defense, not because you had low accuracy.
Or something like that. -
[ QUOTE ]
Can you do it with your Blaster's snipe?
[/ QUOTE ]
Nope, MaX is right, it doesnt work. -

Hamidon and the Mitos will still have the same number of hps in i7 as he/they have now...so don't think they have been affected by the monster/AV changes.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's not their hp I'm worried about, it's their regen - the longer the mito's take to kill, the more chance of them splitting. Still, it all seems to be in good hands.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think last time we did Mitos pretty fast comparing to the time before that. I suspect the reason was the use of enervating fields on the mitos.
