Coming from someone who isn't a fan of PvP....
I have to say the thrill I get from it is the adrenalin rush from fighting against a live enemy (anyone who's been paintballing will have some idea of this).
The fact they are unpredictible and the fight can go either way, especially if other players unexpectedly get involved.
So I would say the unpredictablity of PvP is what makes it exciting, for me that is
OOps just reread the OP and realised that I gave the wrong answer.
What I hate about PvP is some of the childish attitudes, if someone ganks me, meh it doesn't bother me - I just go to the hospital, but some of the language and responses you get from some people is really unbelievable, I don't whinge or complain - if it gets annoying I just leave the zone.
The second thing I find annoying about PvP is that you need certain powers just to survive in PvP and I don't just mean actual fighting, I mean just moving around can be hazardous to your health if you don't have the right powers -
I respecced the ice epic on my fire/fire tank and use the hold with burn, it's only way I can use burn effectively
sometimes if i'm lucky I can get a herd into a corner and use the ice rain to block them into the corner then use burn, but they still run about like looneys -
Yep very successful TF done in about 2.5 hrs and some very nice teamwork especially during the several hunt missions.
As I said in-game I plan to do the following:
2nd respec lvs 34-43
Hydra Trial lvs 38+
Eden Trial Lvs 39-41
Del got to 36 so plan to do the second respec to get him up to lv 38 for the hydra trial.
The AT combination worked well so i'll plan to keep this setup of 4 blasters/kheld, 1 tank, 2 trollers, 1 defender.
keep your eyes peeled, I'll post same as before -
hey as long as deluge is standing we'll be alright
-
I was being lazy and just cut and pasted meh
-
Excellent! the more rambling nonsense we get the better
helps to break the monotony of TFs
Woo just noticed that I made Legendsweet!
-
Nice one!
We now have:
1. Kronos X
2. Stainless Steel
3. Deluge
4. Halo
5. Tank - possibly Artist of Shredding
6. Controller - Cathy Wheel
7. Controller - Blue Note
8. Defender - Kaya X
Reserve blasters:
1. Blaze Johnson
2. Devidose
Looks like we've got a TF people!! -
Ok, so far:
1. Kronos X
2. Stainless Steel
3. Deluge
4. Halo
5. Tank - possibly Artist of Shredding
6. Controller - TBC
7. Controller - TBC
8. Defender - TBC
Kron do you have dwarf form? If J can't bring his tank then we could use you as the tank and get Blaze in as one of the blasters -
It's short notice but I plan to run Numina's TF tomorrow night at 8pm UK time, I anticipate that it will take about 3-4 hrs so we should be finished by midnight.
Lv range is 35-38 and you can read about the missions here: Click
I'm looking for:
1 tank
2 controllers
1 defender (preferable kinetics)
4 blasters (including myself)
We'll meet by Numina.
Sign up here if you are able to attend. -
Whoa! no way! how did that happen?
Gratz boss man -
I like the escape of Lord Crytek, the transitions between the scenes were good and the scenes themselves gave a nice atmospheric feel, also like the widescreen format.
It looks good keep it coming -
Which server were they on?
-
1) His sub might have expired which is prob why he can't log in.
2) Tell him to get his butt across to our new forums: Precision Rangers Forums we need some of his input.
3) Tell him "THE GAME'S NOT THE SAME WITHOUT YOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUU"

It's debatable whether or not heal self is any good for a pure PvP build.
If you got rid of that and heal other, it would give you space for 2 powers - I would go for bonesmasher and TP Foe.
Also swift is worth looking at over health, the health regen for a blaster is low and swift 3 slotted will add to your mobility.
You've taken Energy Punch late and has a good 30% chance to disorient, bonesmasher has a 50% chance to disorient. IIRC these are your main toggle droppers.
I normally TP Foe, Bonesmasher on autofire, then use Freeze ray, one nicely held bad guy to pummel at my leisureand that's at lv 14.
Also powerboost gives a 100% boost to your secondary effects, imagine that with bonesmasher -

I also doubt sincerely that they meant for more than one team to go at it.
8 man team is as 8 man team does. They must've worked with the limit of a 8 man team since that's the limit they enforced.

There was a post from a dev/moderator/whatever that works for Cryptic that said that he can be taken down with(the number he said)27 peoples.
My general impression of the hive is that it looks like a huge Sewer Trial, with the 3 woods acting as the shield generators...But that's all I can think of, I would really love to find something out before TEH AMERICANS!
[/ QUOTE ]
From what I remember it was a test done by the devs with (about) 27 Rad/Rad defenders during I3 - they debuffed the hell out of hami -

Thanks for the replies guys, I'll keep an eye on the forum to see if a Controller SG gets started.
On a similar note how about a Rad only SG made up of Rad\* Defenders & */Rad Controllers.
I read an interesting thread on the American forum and the general concensus was that an all Rad team would be the ultimate, based around stacked AM.
Even at low level AM would be permenant and the damage massive not to mention the debuffs.
No need for the fitness pool, maybe not even a travel power if you're happy with running.
A case of the whole being greater than the sum of it's parts!
Any thoughts ?

We had a Rad Rangers SG a while back composed of purely Rad/Rad defenders, was pretty impressive at low levels, 5 stacked AM at a time meant that we sliced through purple bosses in the hollows with little difficulty, the xp rate was immense.
But people didn't have the time to commit to it fully so the remaining members got absorbed into the SNHS, the all-defender SG. -

Played as mr cuddles the other night and it was a lot of fun.
Might be bringing him out of retirement because I never did get to finish the AV arcs.

I was so suprised when I was leaving Portal Corp with my blaster and saw Mr. Cuddles standing there.
I brought Golden Golem out a couple of times this weekend too. There is something so superheroey about him compared to my other heroes... He gains influence at a astounding rate too, enough so that I can fund all my alts for a couple of weeks with a few hours play.

I've been concentrating on playing Halo, I only get Pyrius out if I need to generate some inf.
