They are not origin restricted. They are simply "origin inspired". And some of them are really, really good (YMMV).

Yes, and... I think so (from what I recall). It absolutely is possible to put it on a hands combat option.

  4. I PM'ed Avatea about this about a week ago. There is a fix in the works.

No guarantee that the fix, that's in the works, actually works when it gets out of the works, but that's how life works.

    War Witch,

What about Praetorian characters that start a SG? I started the Freedom "chapter" of our hero SG with a new lvl 20 Praetorian, but it does not show that he earned this 100k.

  7. I would encourage anyone on the fence right now to hop onto test and try the capes and, more importantly, the auras out.

IMO, the video does not do justice to how good/useful some of those capes and auras are. Atomic and Runes auras, in particular, are fantastic.

I agree. The Unified Field Facade Cape looks much better in game than it looked in the video. On the other hand, I think it would look better if those "wrench" things were a) gone or b) longer (so as to look less like a wrench).

The Impervium Mantle Cape has a grid-like texture, which I did not notice in the video. I would like to see a clean, non-textured version of it.

I'm very unlikely to use the Spliced Cape, but for what it's supposed to be, it looks good.

Both the Cloak of the Eighth Circle Cape and Autumnal Capeare very well done, and should have lots of uses.

For me, though, the auras absolutely steal the show.

Atomic Aura is every bit as cool as I thought it would be. It should work with concepts covering a very broad spectrum. I'd love to see a "single atom" option.

Runes Aura is a potential game-changer for character's with magical origin. Setting it to "combat" for one or both fists lets any standard power look like it's a spell being cast. I foresee wide-spread usage, especially since you can use it this way straight from level one. Should make those to whom character concept is important very happy.

Tarot Cards Aura has some of the same potential uses as Runes, but I don't like it quite as much.

The tech Steamjets and Sparks Auras are nice, subtle add-ons.

    Bio Plasma Aura
, Toxic Vapors Aura and Cryogenic Aura are similar to some existing auras, but IMO look a bit better and more refined.

Love the Leaves Aura. It may have some limited applications, but it's also very unique.

I'm on the fence regarding the Thunderhead Aura. It has great potential, but really screams for dual coloring. Alternatively, I'd like to see the cloud effect a bit less pronounced, and the lighting part perhaps emphasized more. As it stands, very few color choices end up not heavily obscuring the character, and dulling the lightning flashes.

This is all based upon my impressions on playing with them on test for a limited time.

    Uhm...

You've never read a Wolverine comic or X-Men title from the 80s and 90s, have you? He kills people all the time. Heck, he even tried to kill his own teammate (Rachel Summers - Phoenix).

This is not a point you want to try to build an argument on.

Really cool looking, gigantic, destroyable machines that you will have plenty of time to explore/view from every angle as you spend lots of time reducing their ginormous bags of HP to zero. And there are half-a-dozen (or more?) of them.

Personally, I liked running the mish, as it's a very different from your standard run-of-the-mill mishs. But I also understand why people can find it tedious. I break the monotony by standing on top of the things when they blow up (with my KB protection turned off) and seeing how far I can fly...

Now, I realize that my toon being in SG mode might reduce the Inf rewards, but I thought you would get prestige in its place; unfortunately I am not getting any prestige with that 50k.

Is this WAI? Should I have jumped out of SG mode before selecting the reward to get the full amount? While 50k isn't a lot of money, I was taught not to throw away any money at all.
If you're selecting the same reward over and over, the reward is lessened after the first time. Or, in the case of the rare recipe reward. you don't get it at all after the first time.

I would actually accept using the same animation six or seven times with different power effects if that's what it takes. I'd even accept using the already existing "cast" animations, as we have one for each hand, though I'd prefer something with a closed fist. Say, Sniper Blast's animation seven times over for Energy Blast.

The reason I ask for this is because I have a Blaster who uses one of those big robotic right arms, and it would REALLY make the character shine if I could have her powers come out of that.
You may be able to approximate this with certain sets, I would think. With careful selection of powers/animations, I would think that most (if not all) of your powers could come from a single hand. But you will not be able to choose which hand.
  14. Gah...

Meant first power in the secondary set.

I don't think it would be game breaking, and some of the choices would just be nice to have, whether I took them or not.
The problem is this lets people skip the 1st power in their primary set. Might not seem like an issue to you, but I bet PvPers would lose their marbles if only some of them had that flexibility, while most would not.

I thought the devs had more respect for their customers than that. No company stays in business if they slip little "jokes" into their customer's products. How would you like it if you bought a car that the paint washed off of the first time you washed it just because the manufacturer thought it would be funny?

    Boycotting the Origins Pack.
I've used the power literally hundreds of times, and have only been changed into a monkey once. I laughed, took a screenshot with my name floating over the monkey and got a drink. By the time I came back, all was good.

Usually, I wait to cast it until after a fight. If I don't, I chant "don'tturintoamonkeydon'tturintoamonkeydon'tturint oamonkey" to the amusement of my SG members, hit it, and keep playing.

You, Sir (?), need to lighten up and save your outrage for something worthwhile.

(The post says "50000" Inf but I'm pretty sure it was 5000 when I did it.)

So no dimished returns, it's a lock-out. You get it once, and that's it.
Good clarification. That jives with what I'm getting from others now too.

Totally understandable, especially with the rare recipe (otherwise it'd be an easy to get 20 merit random roll equivalent), but I wish I'd known.

Unlocking costumes is one of the worst parts of this game. All costumes should be available to everyone from level 1, full stop.
    I both agree and disagree.

While it can be annoying to have to wait to unlock "that perfect piece", I like the rewards mechanic, giving me something other than XP/Inf/recipes/salvage.

My preference would be that meeting the conditions of an unlock for a certain part grants a "costume part X unlock token", that is granted account-wide. Each token unlocks that part for only that character, but this would let you stock up unlocks for newer toons.
  21. Hmmm.. I got 2 tips drops in 2 sessions of ToTing withing about 15min (if that) of starting each session. First was solo and 2nd on a team. I think you're just having bad luck.

On the flip-side, I'm getting very few costumes compared to previous years.

Do we know if there's any kind of cool-down similar to earning merits? In other words can I only get a given reward every 20 hrs?
