It may be for a good cause, but it's hideous. They should just have painted the base pink... or put a pink band/ribbon on it.
-
Quote:To set off everyone's GayVaydar? :POh, I have ways of fixing that...
Even the most masterful and scary things loose all sense of threat when painted pink!
Alternatively, Alpha may be threatening to paint Arcana pink...
Sigh... and I was poking fun at Alpha's maturity... -
Quote:Except that yours is even funnier... and, in context, more mature. It's a master vs. student kinda thing.

Quote:According to Posyb:First, they didn't say an attachment could only have one item in it. So presumably you could send a bunch of items in a single email, eliminating the "one by one" part of your objection.
Second, this mechanism isn't just to send stuff to your own alts. You can send things to other accounts too, so it's more flexible than a vault could be.
"Valid attachments are Enhancements, Salvage, Recipes and Inspirations if they are tradeable (buyable on AH). One per email. Inf can be sent alongside item."
Emphasis mine. -

Quote:lrn2type?So what happens if the boob (the hypothetical "boob") forgets or typos his global name and sends his much coveted PvP IO that he just spent 3 billion Inf on to someone else? Will there be a means to cancel or recall the email if the recipient (who hypothetically, unfortunately happens to exist) hasn't opened the email and/or claimed the attachment yet? If not, how will NCSoft Customer Support deal with the boob's desperate petitions?
<shrug>
I'm thinking that's user error and the buck stops there. At least it should. -

Quote:So... if I understand this correctly, I could email something to my own global name, and any of my toons could access it?Emails can be sent to local as well as global names now.
Emails with attachments can only be sent to a Global name.
Valid attachments are Enhancements, Salvage, Recipes and Inspirations if they are tradeable (buyable on AH). One per email. Inf can be sent alongside item.
There will be 20 mail cap to inbox. Mails sent to full mailbox will bounce (bounced mails can exceed cap). If you are at the cap you cannot send mails.
Items with attachments cannot be deleted until attachment is claimed. They can be returned to sender.
EDIT: NM, I see the clarification I needed in later posts. -
Quote:Speculation here, but I would lay good money that there is a (or quite possibly one for each faction) EAT that you get access to after completing the 1-20 intro arcs for GR. Granting access to all EATs at 20 now forestalls the "why do I have to go to 50 for VEATe/HEATs, when I only need to go to 20 to get my PEATs?!?" wines. My turn. I didn't find out about this until midway through an ITF last night, so I apologize for being late to the party
- Epic archetypes are now unlocked at level 20.

I am pretty impressed on the whole, now where is a link to GR Pre-order???
The Pre-PURCHASE (I only stress that because you have to pay the full amount, which is not always the case for a pre-order) will be available next week. Only for the upgrade edition, not the complete (which is a mistake IMO and will stop me from pre-purchasing anything). -
Quote:OK... I'm good with that.I'd go with a slider. "Delete email unless it has over X amount of influence attached". Then I'd set the slider to a million inf. I'm never mailing myself any less than that, and if a spammer wants to give me a million inf just to delete their message, well, sounds good to me!
-
Bad idea. All the spammers would have to do is attach 1 inf (or whatever the minimum threshold is) and voila! Spam hell again.
-
Yes. I want both. Bit I'm greeeeeeedy.
I like what I'm seeing here. Nothing overwhelming (unless you're a badger... then you're in heaven), but a lot of solid, and in some cases long-awaited fixes/changes.
Oh wait... forgot about Ultra Mode.
MUST HAVE NAO!!! -
If you don't like people voicing their opinions, even if they are counter to yours, get the [WARNING EXPLICIT LYRICS] of the forums. Anyone has as much of a right to express either their support or displeasure with decisions made as you do. While some posts may fall into the whining category, there are several well-written and reasonable objections here.
Who's said that, especially the latter?
The only accurate and intelligent thing you've said here... assuming that pre-order money is going towards development, and not just profit, which we don't know.
You know... if you're gonna rant, you should at least know what you're railing against. Nobody has said they want the retail version to be free. The Euros want to have a boxed set, so they can buy it and the rest of us want to be able to pre-purchase the box set and get the same early access that those that pay $10 less than us are getting.
Wait... urh?
Nobody cares.
Actually, I have several, as do a number of those voicing displeasure. Whether or not we agree on this issue is irrelevant. You, however, nobody knows.
Also, this is not the CoH fansite. This is the official game site, and the official forums, and there are even fan sections here, but this is not a fansite.
tl;dr version:
1) Your opinion does not trump that of anyone else.
2) Have a clue.
3) Who are you, and why should we care? -
Quote:Now, if they had offered the Complete Collection as a prepurchase online with the caveat that the free month would not be credited to the account until it released in retail stores in July, I would be more inclined to prepurchase.Quote:$30 Expansion (pre-purchasable)
early access to new powersets
$10 Item Pack (basing price on previous item pack costs, subject to change)
$15 month of gameplay
= $55
$40 Complete Edition (not pre-purchasable)
no early powerset access
free item pack
free month
= $40
They're looking to seriously cash in on the pre-purchasable perk of early powerset access. It's kinda disgusting.
I've been playing since the day after launch, have purchased every boxed set (CoH, CoH Collector's Edition, CoV Collector's Edition, Good vs. Evil, Architect), every booster back, the Mac Special (digital) Edition, and have purchased several time cards to supplement friends who went through some hard times. All of these were pre-purchased, or bought the day they released. I've never had my sub lapse.
I'm not stating this to say "my opinion should count more because I've given you all this money". I'm stating this to show that I don't have any problems spending money on this game.
I COMPLETELY DISAGREE WITH THIS PRICING MODEL.
There is no reason that the complete edition should not be pre-purchasable online and grant the early access.
I can only voice my opinion here, and vote with my wallet. If I had not just re-upped for 6 or 12 months (I forget which), I would probably be canceling my sub until GR hit and then getting the GR Complete Edition.
As it is, I will have to see which route I will go. But unless the Complete Edition becomes pre-purchasable and grants early access, I will not be a happy camper. -
Quote:wait. If I read that right...
if you pre-order the Complete Collection... you will not receive Dual Pistols in March and Demon Summoning in April?Quote:If I read that right, the complete collection isn't available for preorder o.O
Pre-ordering the add-on/expansion version grants early access to Dual Pistols in March and Demon Summoning in April.
Once Going Rogue has gone live in July, you will be able to purchase the complete collection goodies pack online to get the extras (auras, costumes, etc.)for an as yet undetermined price (think booster pack).
Hope that clears it up. -

Quote:I almost hurt myself laughing when reading this...so double xp weekend gives you duel pistols but not demon summoning interesting, is the end game a pay only feature i wonder because they keep talking about it as part of GR i think?
-
Quote:One set(dual pistols) will be available in Mar. if you pre-order GR.While the other(demon summoning) will be available in April.I've read carefully many many times. Why would they release them early........In my eyes its a promotional thing for pre-ordering something. Like GG said maybe you should read a little more carefully. Many others will tell you the same. x2 xp is for Live Servers. Never have i heard it for beta. Don't they usually just auto level toons in closed beta for high level testing anyway? I'm just trying to figure out what part of the red name posts dont you understand.Quote:Funny, because I am trying to figure out the same thing about your understanding.
Oh, and for your information, No, they don't just auto-level toons for high level testing.
And yes, DXP applies to both Test and Live servers which is what Avatea was referring to.
You, on the other hand, are completely factually incorrect when you claim that there is no auto-leveling during beta. It is known as a "level-bump" and happened for both Willpower and Electrical Armor/Melee at a minimum. I'm pretty sure it has happened for other sets (and EATs) too, but I know it happened for the aforementioned, since I was there for it. -

Quote:Emphasis mine.
There are no new Epic archetypes planned for 50. As previously mentioned, Paragon Studios is introducing an End-Game system, where players can continue to evolve their character(s).
However, I'm willing to bet good money that there will be at least one (probably 2) EATs for G_R. Lowering the requirements ensures that even new players will fairly easily be able to access those new EATs... say... right after you've chosen your faction loyalty in the new Praetoria 1-20 starting content... -
