I forget. Did Brutes have Energy Melee prior to the Ice Melee/Ice Armor removal?
-
And thanks Lycanus, Ill play with the coloration some more. I was specifically speaking of that bright sunburst body shape in the bottom middle. Haven't been able to get anything near it myself. I've mostly been trying to make something that matches up with default energy fists however though.

Quote:You have no one to blame but yourself. You threw out that comment specifically to egg me on. Consider me egged.
Now would you like to back up your claim that I'm leaving out variables or are we going to dance around this for another few replies?
You over-estimate my opinion of you or just how much weight anything you say has with me. I said that comment because it's another reason I have to dislike dark armor.
Trust me, if I wanted to "egg you on", everyone would know it.
And I've said before, every math simulation I've seen completely discounts the impact of accuracy and possible to-hit debuffs and the negative impact they have on dark armor that barely affects other sets. Of course, last time I tried mentioning this.. I got this as a reply.

Oh geez, I did.
I mentioned I didn't like Dark Armor and you came hurtling through like Pavlov's dog.
Which would be why I suggested you get over your infatuation with my dislike of the set.
Annnd this thread is derailed. Good job Dechs. -
D'aww. It's so sweet!
You need to get over this infatuation with my dislike of dark armor and realize people can have different opinions, and -MATH- doesn't solve everything, especially when you randomly leave out variables.
Edit: Wait, it's not really random. You just refuse to admit the existence of variables that could weaken your argument. -
I suspect an Ice Melee for stalkers in an i21.5 along with whatever they're doing with doms.
(Which I theorize would be a revamped Illusion alternative called Shadow Control with a Dark Assault set. Just a hunch, but it just seems natural.) -
I'll get right on it after I finish soft capping my resistance set's defenses with IO's and then proclaiming said set the greatest thing ever and completely glossing over that soft capping defense, well, makes just about everything great.
Oh, I also have to make that video showcasing how awesome I am against the villain groups said set is naturally strong against. -
I personally think they should have held it back till they ported Ice Melee as well. But then again, there'd likely be riots if there was two villain ATs saying "None" on that power proliferation outline.

Sad for no Ice Melee for stalkers. But they've shown when they release "half" a pairing, they fairly quickly kick out the other half. (Earth Control/Elec Assault to Elec Control/Stone Assault?)
-
Uh, how did you do that?
-
Quote:Like I needed more reasons to hate dark armor.See also: Stone and Ice sets. These are only color tintable and do not have bright/dark options. This is due to how the powers are animated; they have effects which can be colored. Powers like Fire or Electricity are done differently at their base, and the colors are done with either additive or subtractive light mixtures.
i.e. There can not be a light/dark option for powers that are color tintable. -
It would just be nice to have alternate colorings avalable for these powers. They seem to be the -only- customizable powers that haven't been giving the bright/dark option treatment.
I don't really have much else to add. -
Nah.
Someone should turn on the warburg free for all status in Pocket D without any warning/alert, and see how long it takes the place to devolve into chaos.
(Actually, that's a HORRIBLE idea, but damn if it also wouldn't be hilarious) -
And Dark Blast/Dark Manipulation for blasters, and Dark Assault to pair with illusions on Doms (cause you can recolor the illusion set dark anyway).
And maybe Ice Melee and Ice Armor for stalkers.
And finally Fire Blast/Thermal for Defenders. -

Quote:Doesn't work because tents and nightfall are in Soul Master Patron pool. That's not too bad. Awfully AOE heavy primary there, so it kind of reminds me of AR - kinda longing for a short range heavy hitter once in awhile.
In my opinion, (note, not in any particular order):
Quote:primary
1. Dark Blast
2. Gloom
3. Dark Obliteration
4. Aim
5. Torrent
6. Dark Pit
7. Moonbeam
8. Petrifying Gaze
9. Blackstar

Quote:And this is the problem with Apex and Tin Mage. They were introduced with incarnates, are near incarnate level difficulty. Yet with the introduction of trials and new slots and different salvage types, the two TFs have been pretty much completely invalidated. What makes this worse is that they've been live for less than a year! (They launched in November of 2010)I have to admit - I've never run an Apex or a Tin Mage. And really, I have little reason to want to. If I'm going to team, it's going to be for incarnate advancement and it just seems to make much more sense to join a BAF or Lambda (eventually Keyes I guess - haven't done one yet).
Considering the work that had to go into these, I'd think it'd be desirable for them to actually still get played. They're not even that useful, in the long run, for the alpha slot enhancers that they were introduced with. -
Quote:I absolutely agree with this, except I'd also like to see them drop common/uncommon Incarnate salvage on complete. That is the truth in cheekiness.
I'm all for either increasing the reward OR allowing all 3 shifts to work, but not both: That's a bit OP, especially since Temp Powers work in the TFs.
I prefer the former. And I'd like to see all the major level 50 TFs have an "Incarnate Mode" that makes all the foes Level 54 and allow Threads to drop and 2 Astral Merits on the reward table (an Empyrean Merit with Temp Powers disabled). -
-
Set the Emp merits for the TFs on a longer timer. Problem solved, if it's really a problem.
-
Quote:-Exactly-I don't know about upping the rewards (it'd be nice, granted, but I don't see it happening), but I'd at least like to see Incarnate shifts apply. Thanks to level shifting, these TFs end up being harder than the raids, and that's what causes the smaller rewards to really sting.
I think having it as an alternative to get common/uncommon salvage and threads is just the right thing to do. -
Even with the 20.5 changes, it just isn't cutting it, it's almost impossible to form a TF for these two when people can just coast a BAF or run a lambda. It's already got the incarnate penalty, ruling out people who aren't alpha slotted, so why not consider it "Incarnate" content and let it drop an Empyrean Merit once a day, (1 astral for repeating) and give out a piece of Incarnate salvage.
If it absolute -has- to have something nerfed compared to trials, have it only drop uncommon/common salvage for the Destiny/Interface/Lore/Judgement slots. As is, it's completely pointless now and no one seems interested in running it.
