    Dropped same day as TW.

I think one reason we're not seeing a "Staff pack" is because a lot of people took advantage of an error on PS part and got the TW pack for free, even if they never actually bought the TW set.

Where it lies in there, haven't seen any deffinant answers other than "It's not top 5 so it sucks" from people.

My question is, who really wants ST DPS?

AOE is where this game is at people, always has been, always will be.

That's hardcore SG dedication right there.
  4. I still PVP sometimes, but personally, my list of complaints about it:

    1. Not easily accessible. You either have to run to specific zones, or use a confusing arena interface. It was made slightly better by not requiring you to run to an arena building itself, but it's still a hurdle.

The process of initiating PVP in the "arena" is completely jarring and takes you out of the game itself for several minutes while you set up the match, agree on rules with the person you're fighting, and then load a completely new map instead of just going head to head right there.

    2. PVP gameplay differing from PVE gameplay: This wasn't as bad before i13. I still have no clue what all changes when switching over. Having to have separate builds using powers that I'd never normally use annoys me.

    3. Ranged Damage, or go home: Mind you, this was a problem even before i13.

    4. Superspeed, or go home: It's vastly superior to the other 3 powersets to the point that it's pretty much required to pvp.

    5. Outdated/Unreasonable Rewards: The only case where PVP itself is actually rewarded is in Sirens, with the bounty system, and the rewards available are inspirations, or an SO enhancement.

No, Bloody Bay Shivans don't count, as they require no PVP interaction to obtain.
No, Warburg Nukes don't count, as they require no PVP interaction to obtain.
No, Recluse Victory Mechs don't count, as they require no PVP interaction to obtain.

Then you have PVP IOs. That drop so rarely the primary way to get them is afk farming an alt account, which, while technically is PVP, is not, really.

Could it be fixed? Sure. Will it be? Nope.
The fact they went Free to Play and barely touched the PVP aspect showed they have no intention of ever correcting the system, as that would have been the best time to do so. (Which is funny, cause the Freedom trailer actually shows players PVPing in freaking First Ward.)
  5. Im personally of the opinion that any toggle "armor" power that doesn't have an affect that hits mobs should have the option to have its vfx be disabled except in PVP zones. There's no harm to other players if a person chose to disable their frost/fire/dark/stone armor for cosmetic reasons.

Yeah, but that's apparently extremely prohibitive and time "wasting". No weapon set syncs with its secondary to the point that click powers cause no redraw, to my knowledge.

I mean, sure, it'd be -great- but IMO this is just better presented and more likely to happen as "low hanging fruit".
  7. I still think this would be a solid candidate for VIP powerset proliferation with an upcoming issue or as a quick market release. It's also perfectly explainable, as we already have Maelstrom who is apparently a DP/MA blaster.

The only thing artwise that might need doing is recoloring Blinding Powder, Smoke Flash, and Hide to be the same color as the MA icons. One thing I had not thought of, but is another potential selling point for this set is that Crippling Axe Kick, Storm Kick, and Eagle's Claw have alternate punching animations, if someone wanted their blaster, to, well, punch things.

And the cool part is how it's happening in this perverse warped cthuluish landscape and there's hordes of ZOMBIES and mythical creatures everywhere!

Oh, wait. That's not what they're doing at all. Because they're telling a superhero story where magic plays a role, not a magic story where superheroes could just as well be replaced with Vampires, Werewolves, Mages, and Fairies.

    "City of Writing I like"

Nope, it pretty much has sucked horribly lately!

    So, no, this doesn't work.

  12. Because seriously, so sick of magic after the past year.

    Just saying.

Maybe Zwillinger should post something like, "Hey everyone, don't search for Issue 23 using Google, and then look at the cached pages that Google saved." Boy, that would just be terrible.
This actually isn't working anyway, apparently the pages weren't up long enough for google to cache, or its been requested they be pulled, or Im just not aware of other ways to access google cache where it might be available.

It very well could be that last one. If there is another way to access the cached pages on google besides their search engine, I'd love to hear how, it'd be useful beyond this one thing.

Edit: Hooray for search operators. Figured it out myself.
  15. Dr Aeon is now running the SSAs so Im guessing that MA is unofficially abandoned. Gotta crank out that microtransaction content, after all.
  16. Im sure it will involve Penelope Yin and thus, will unbelievably suck.

Edit: Unbelievable isn't the right term. Cause given the nosedive the first SSA took, it's completely believable that it will suck. Sorry, Im not interested in stories where someone else "HAS THE AWESOME POWERS TO KEEP YOU ALIVE WHILE YOU DO GAME MECHANIC STUFF"

The only thing defensible about the first SSA is it's use of Darrin Wade.

Honestly, the hints have been dropped all over the place, this was actually a natural step forward for the character. (Though I havent heard if he has unique dialogue if you have the badge from his own arc. )
  18. Liked the last mission's visual look and feel.

Of course, the last boss not having a bio was lol.

It wasn't as bad as SSA6 was. It still had the whole godawful, "LOOK LOOK PENELOPE YIN, SHES JUST SO AWEEEESOME" crap going on though.

Glad it comes free with the subscription, if I'd -paid- for this crap, I'd have been upset.
  19. The only reason to play chapter six is to laugh at just how freaking bad it is. IMO, it's the worst story arc to be released in -ages- and is something I'd use as an example for others.

"You see what they did there? Don't ever, ever, do that."
  20. Figured this was a question worth asking/discussing. I think its a thing that is pretty much wanted across the board, but it's becoming painfully obvious at this point that if it's not something that can't be gated behind being a VIP or cost PPs, and isn't a game balance issue, it's not going to get dev time at this point.

I guess personally, it'd depend on the price. I was pretty annoyed with the fact the Super Tailor came bundled in an add-on pack purchase, and even with the Freedom Launch, think it's still overpriced and have not purchased it yet. So the question is, would you pay? And if so, how much is the cut off point?

I'd be annoyed if pool customization came with a price tag attached, but Id honestly cough up points for it, as it's something more useful in the long run than the super tailor. My concern is it would probably wind up being segmented out into smaller portions with a bulk discount. I'd honestly probably pay 10 dollars/800 points max as a "day one purchase".

    Opinions or thoughts?
  21. I'd honestly prefer a /duel command so we can PVP in any zone before a dedicated zone was created.

That said, one would think that the decision to waste another loyal pawn would give one pause considering how many he has already lost. It's sloppy, and a sign of wastefulness.
Again, what losses has Wade actually taken? Malaise KNEW he was going to die, and did it all specifically so he could take down Sister Psyche in the process. Wade just took advantage of something Malaise already wanted.

And then there's a magical summoned disposable aspect. Huge loss there.

And then there's generic female CoT mage that is completely unnotable at all except for being a bag of hp for the player to beat on.

Which, she had to be. Having her be an interesting character or even a reuse of Echidna, which would have made sense, would have detracted from the Penelope Yin action hour, which is what SSA6 basically was.

What valuable manpower and resources? He's sent one assassin who was a generic CoT mage and summoned a minor little magical monster to fight you. Wade is worried that you might catch up to him and prevent his plan, but he's not taking any great steps to do so.

And the great part about why you're suddenly such a threat to Wade? According to him, originally, you were probably too unimportant to plan for.

Im curious, for those playing the arcs redside, have you noticed any changes due to having the "Thief of Midnight" badge? I think thats the one you get fro having run the Wade arc redside.
