  1. Every arc will fail if you RP something that the game is not about.

When you play Dr Graves you are still new at this thing, having stolen surplus power from Blue Spectrum and being dumped in a warzone. You need friends, infuence, power or you will be the next casualty.

If this concept does not fit your RPĂng then don't play it. Or adapt your RP to somebody who does fit in. The choice between annoyance or enjoyment is yours here. I personally like the idea of a blustering villain trying to grow wise and powerful during his or her career. Everybody started out as a noob after all.
  2. This game is like playing roulette.

Here is my money! Now spin the wheel!
Oh look, its another maintenance. Better luck next time.
  3. I agree with the OP.

There is reasonable downtime and there is letting your customers down. I want compensation for the multiuple days this month that downtime during peakhours (for me) has prevented me from playing.

At this point in time I would recommend that everybody solos first ward to get all the arcs and read all the text. Experiencing it on a team is actually pretty bad since there are so many talk to this guy type missions, and the rest of the team has no clue what you are talking about so we want to skip to the kill em alls.
They solved a bit of that problem with using NPC dialogue. Now and then it is exactly the same as what the leader sees in the debriefings.
  5. I am not bothered with exemplaring down (even if I play a hero who has not been resepected to get Stamina in time). TF's, ouros and even joining a mission with a friend brings forth this great feature that allows people from diferent levels to play together. This is not a game where only the top levels are getting any development. If you don't want to exemplar then play a lowbie instead. Plus, I like the fact that they used this particular faction. They are nice, fun and hardly ever used.
  6. In the end, I hope they add a tag. The Farm Tag. So that farmers can find good farm missions and the storypeople can find the arcs they are interested in. Probably the best solution to this problem making everybody happy.
  7. I loved the arc.

But I am flabbergasted that people do not object to this arc as they do to Dr Graves arc. It got the same basic assumptions, hyacking your speach and thoughts, railroading you, giving you tutorial lessons a bit late and not with enough detail. I am glad people like it, but still.

Perhaps it is the hoorb factor?

The whole Mercy Makeover can be described as:

Right, you know what, lets blow up a Longbow base.
See it burn, blow up another!
For revenge I want you to blow up this Longbow base
Right, now I show everyone how awsome I am, my masterplan is.....
    BLOWING UP A LONGBOW BASE!!

    It gets tad boring.
  9. I don't understand the problem with Dr Graves arc. Lets put things in the proper perspective right?

It is the extended tutorial. Youi just got out of the zone, stealing power from Blue Spectrum. You start out as a new young recruit learning the ropes here. So yes, the opportunity to get a powerful patron is a very good one. World Domination will have to wait until you have build up your powerbase. Right now, you have to compete against all the other wannabee's and prove that you are better then them. Dr Graves hates you and wants you humiliated, backed up by the powers that be so you cannot hurt him yet. However you can annoy him until he turns blue by succeeding.

You let Twinshot call you kid when you had chosen Heroside. You listen attentively to Diddo, get annoyed at Flambeaux and are treted like a noob. But of course you ARE supposed to be a noob when you do the tutorial.

This is not the arc for the old grizzled veteran that you really are. So I think it is fine for the target audience.

With one exception. Why blowing up another longbow base! That grows old very very fast when this is your third in as many levels.
  10. There has been quite a few maintenances this month. Always duriing primary gaming time for me and many others. I understand that a few are neccesary for an issue but NCSoft, you are overdoing it.

So I am with Floating Fatman here. I want to be compensated. Since this is past what I consider reasonable downtime for a new issue.
  11. Like all 'good' Tf's it takers practice to make a perfecrt run. Especially the get out of the cave part is tricky here. I wonder if even 1 person managed to do this on the first go.
  12. Well, I think it is about time they did something to make farming less effective. Farming will always exist and I can live with that, but you can overdo things. It should not be much more effective then normal play if you ask me. But yes, for AE storytellers this is not the good news we were hoping for.

There will be new farms, optimised for the current rules. So we will see an increase in farms instead of a lessening.
  13. My Guess:
    Positron, by Anti Matter.

Why? Simple, most of the old garde are rednames as well. So they either kill of one who isn't or one who is ready to accept new challanges elsewhere. If Positron would leave the studio, that would make a big impact, this seems to me a grand farewell party.

When I am right, I wish him to have a nice careermove. If i am wrong that will mean that he is not leaving us at all. Win-Win!

If I did not have this theory I would say Statesman, by me. Or better said by all of us incarnates because he loses the favour of the well thanks to our actions. Bubba you sure we cannot have two entries?
  14. I like the first part. (Only played hero one yet). Great maps, nice that they resurrected an old enemy group and the missions themselves were interesting. I doubt that I will ever be able to 'win' mission 1 though since I am a klutz at controls.

    Not recommended for squishies though!
  15. Can I say. Hurray, I can log into the forums once more? Sure I can.

    Hurray!
  16. I would have bought this one for 100 points, maybe 200. But 600? No.

    Barbarian Set

A lot is hidden under chest pieces.

But I like the set and yes, they include clunky female boots. I missed glove options for the female model which is a dissapointment though.
  18. The Barbarian set looks really usefull to me. It got some pieces that can be combined with other sets. I w2ill defenitely buy this one as soon as I got the point.

Only missing thing are glove options for the female set. I cannot imagine that she is not allowed the shiny armband the male version is wearing.

Not sure if I buy the back to school backpack. it looks nice but I have no idea which of my characters is going to wear one.

Of course, I already got the rocketboard and the beam rifle!

I'm kidding, of course. They're usually pretty good about that sort of thing... But with recent history being what it is, and the new servers apparently being the evil monstrosities that they are, you never know.
Don't you hate to be right?
  20. It is going to take longer then planned.

Seems that I won't be playing issue 21 today.

^ This. It is a great power, but the detogling can become problematic. I sudder to use it for example on a tank or brute.

Other problem is the price. 600 is a lot considering that we only get 400 each month.
  22. Samuel, you are right that the Praetorian lowbies are tougher and meaner then the other starting points. However, with things like Sands of Mu and the trusty Nemesis Staff it is not so bad. Nowadays Hero side startup is pretty easy. Perhaps a bit to easy. Red side is a bit harder and Praetorian is the hardest place to start. But as a vet I don't mind a challenge. Especially as it does not involve 5 billiard influence builds.

I would hate to do it without those vet powers though.
  23. Aah, I see a few new valuable lessons to be learned for the aspiring villains....

    Glad you are back!
