Not sure why you suggest skipping MG, it hits way too hard to skip IMO. On mine I have a seamless attack chain using MG, Smite, SL, and Boxing.
-
I have done this on occasion when I don't have a second computer available, but my pc has 8 gig of ram and handles it well. I still prefer to run the second account on another computer, but not very many people have 2 computers that can run this game like I do.
-
At some point on all my characters I get to the point where I have a large amount of Inf and taking the time to run to the market and sell the trash isn't worth the time. Also,I play red side a lot and tend to list all my recipes no matter what they are since supply tends to be lower there. If it sits there for a long time and I need the slots for something else I will then gather all the trash up and make a trip to the vendor.

After looking at the presence pool, Intimidate and Invoke Panic have very long recharges, so I can't see going that route. Cloak of Fear and Touch of Fear would stack well and combined they are mag 5 so should fear a boss together.
When I played dark armor on a brute I skipped Cloak of Fear since it was counter productive with the damage aura, but I can see it being very useful on a tank where damage is not the primary concern. With CoF, OG, and ToF together it should lock down entire mobs pretty easily. -

2.people skip the fear and it is there for a reason. coupled with the fear from the secondary or with the fears from the presence pool it is potent mitigation. it completely shuts off incoming fire to the entire team until they take damage and even then it greatly limits their ability to return fire. Pseudo resists for the entire team basically.

How effective would it be to take all the fears and stack them on a mob as control? -

Neither. More like average. No wait TOTALLY average.

Well I know its no WM/EA Brute but hey, what else could be SO PRETTY AND STRONG eh?
This comes close though
[/ QUOTE ]
You really need to look into some IO sets, they can make your build totally awesome. Right now it is just average. Hey and don't knock WM/EA, I have one and he kicks [censored]!
And yes I have him completely IO'ed. -

Isn't the resist cap 75% for brutes? It is supposed to be like scrappers which is 75%. Tankers is 90%

Brutes have the same resist caps as Tankers...90% -
I think when everything is going right /Dark is an amazing secondary. My biggest issue is Dark Regen is slow to fire off and it tends to get me killed occasionally. From my experience your health bar is going to swing wildly when you play this set and that can put some people off. My Fire/Dark is definitely a killing machine when I have just a little support. From my experience, Dark Armor benefits from pretty much any buffs out there.

I have 6 different level 50 brutes and of those my stone/stone, dm/wp, and wm/ea can all survive the all boss farm spawns without any problem. I prefer the wm/ea because of all the AoE he has and it makes killing the bosses much faster.
I haven't tried using the stone/stone to run all boss missions yet but I used to run around the Fab regularly and herded up huge numbers of mobs, most of the time it would include multiple bosses. Stone armor is just not as efficient of a killing machine as some other secondaries. -

I can easily take 10 bosses with my /EA. I regularly run an all boss mission solo with him and herd the aggro cap without a problem. My /EA is softcapped to all defenses except negative energy and psi
[/ QUOTE ]
A well-built EA will have no trouble surviving most situations, but still won't be a good "tank" though because someone will be stripping aggro off of them on a team. You can get the attention back with an AoE, but a few seconds later it's just going to turn around after it's been shot again.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is very true. It is very hard to hold aggro with /EA without taking taunt.
edit: OP's question was what will survive, I was answering that. The only brute I have played that can tank is my /stone, the rest of mine can soak up the alpha but that isn't tanking -

When you start rolling your 8th alt, it gets *annoying* to go through 1-20 again, especially if you're like me and are a fan of brutes.
[/ QUOTE ]
How about when you hit 100 alts or 200, I am there. I do love Brutes also but 1-20 can be a pain. -

They didn't remove all farming. As far as I know the all boss farm are still there and they are challenging. Farming will never go away it will just be slower than it has been the last month.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not playing anything resembling a farm or do anything resembling PLing until they finally clarify what is OK to do in this game, given that we can have toons locked out of nowhere. After the threat, they really have to clarify what is acceptable play. Of course, they will not do that, and so I am out. I only hope that a very large percentage of the farmers and PLers do the same, so that you good people may finally have some well deserved peace.

I will be honest and say that I am just killing time waiting on CO to come out. I have been playing for 3 years and the game is starting to get old. I tried WoW but got bored with it once I hit 80. I do love this game but there just isn't enough new stuff to keep me much longer.
Also, I do farm but I don't farm all the time. -

Yeah if he replaced CP with Repel I doubt there would be many upset Brutes or cries for him to make the change on Brutes also.
-
How about make the boss an ally and then have him not help in the mission. He will say his lines and hten happily stand there.

Bubbagimp hit 50 last night - WM/EA
STRONG AND PRETTY! -
My WM/EA hit 50 this weekend tanking an all boss farm.
-
I dinged 50 on EternalTorment last night, he made #6 and my 5th brute to 50. I was running through a friends AE Arc and in an epic battle between Reichsman and Statesman when it happened. Seemed an appropriate moment.
EternalTorment DM/WP Brute -
DOes anybody have a WM/EA at 50 yet? Mine is at 43, really need to finish him.

One of the concerns raised with /ice for brutes is that it would nearly eliminate the value of /EA. To some extent that's probably still a valid argument, but it's less valid now than it used to be.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hell there would never be a reason to make a /EA brute ever again if brutes got ice armor.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hasn't /SR done this already. I have an EA brute, but if SR had been out when I was making him I probably would have gone that route. -

Arc Name: Give them Hellions!
Arc ID: 49948
Faction: nuetral
Creator Global/Forum Name: @gruumch
Difficulty Level: lvl 1-14
Synopsis: This mission is designed to be a low level starting story arc. The primary group is Hellions. There are 5 missions in the Arc. First mission is find an object and then the rest is a series of boss fights.
Estimated Time to Play: I finished it in under an hour.
I designed this arc for low level characters and you can start it at level one if you like. You will fight Hellions the whole arc, but I have added some custome bosses to spice it up a little. I ran the arc solo with a level 7 BS/Shield scrapper. -
I came across something on the internet that I wanted to share since I found pretty useful. I was in need of an acronym for an evil group I was creating and was stuck, I found this Acronym Creator and thought other may find it useful also.

I like the Magnetic Lift, it gives me ideas for a guard tower in a prison themed base I have been thinking about.
