Body type, along with all dimensions and costume information, is already stored in the characters slot information. Try looking at a demofile sometime.

    [/ QUOTE ]

As I said it depends on how things are stored and you retrieve the information. If what you say is true, and I assume you are, then it shouldn't indeed be a big problem.

This is a QoL suggestion that would most likely involve a lot more coding than anyone seems to think. People have every right to be against it - for any reason.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And as the devs have been making a large number of QoL changes lately, some which have needed way more development that this is likely to need, why not suggest more? What possible objection could there be to MORE choice?

You're not a programmer Stase, but I am. Based on my experience, I can assure you that text strings for things like badges are NOT stored in your characters badge table; only ID numbers will be. Another ID number would be used for minor things like reference to the character sex. Change the ID number, ALL the text you see automatically changes with it.

This would NOT be a large change when compared with some of the recent QoL changes, as it's purely a cosmetic change. The only thing they'd need to do after selecting the new body type, is remove any gender specific costume items and set them back to defaults.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I disagree. Sure it is doable and considering the other QoL issues they have done it is a minor issue. However I think you are mistaken with how easy this would be to implement. As the character can have 1 body type per costume slot you need to save that information with the costumes. Now depending on how they implemented that information and the retrieval of the info in the first place, this can mean a lot of work.

As i don't want to get deep into discussion i only ask one thing:

Is gender change too much different than logging in with a female heroine while you hang around with team couple of hours as a male?

I am easy with any changes that only effects players' self heroes. We have heroes running around in nothing but briefs, or nearly naked (skin color/suit color match).

    [/ QUOTE ]

As this would change the databese behind the game and involve a lot of coding. Yes this matters a lot.
  4. Unless you solo, debt is indeed to easy to get rid of now. When you solo it takes more then the next mob to get rid of it. It has lost it bite and is something you can ignore easily. In other words this has become to easy and is quite boring.

I would prefer to have the old debt system back.

    Need a new PC?

Dang I could have used a new pc as my current one is having to much trouble keeping up with the demands cih is putting on it.

    To bad its UK only.

like the case though. Even if I am surprised it is mainly white not blue or red.

I think it unlikely because there's obviously a lot of code involved. Contacts know if you're male or female, there are male and female badge differences - that's going to be a lot trickier than simply body shape.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not to mention the sound you make when you jump

    [/ QUOTE ]

Indeed that would require a change into the database of the game itself. Because the gender becomes something that is costume based instead of character based and every character has up to 5 costume slots. It might even require an extra database query which could slow the server a bit down.

That would make a seemingly simple change a bit harder to implement. Not sure if the demand for this option outweighs the trouble for achieving it.
  7. I would like to have the opportunity to use a big body and a normal body for the same toon. Why? becasue it is interesting from a rp view. I also like to see that you can alter the height of your toon as well. In that light being able to change gender as a hero fit in logically. So yes I am in favour of it.

You know a thing like this IS allready implemented in the game. Every time a hero saves someones purse that person gives his or her thanks and the hero gets some influence for the effort.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Unfortunatly, this thing isn't on Villians

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well that would be a bit hard top explain wouldnt it? after all a villain doesnt care about 'helping' people nor would that do a thing for his reputation. Of course he could [censored] the purse himself but lets be honest [censored] pursing is so low class paragon city petty crime.

But here to aditional rewards could be given. Like the place where the villains hid their illgotten goods so you can liberate them for some more noble cause, like yourself.

Still, it is a good idea to make the streethunt more livier. Someone mentioned the idea that with streethunts you could open new missions concerning that particular group.

For example, grabbing a skull purse snatcher could lead to a mission where the skulls try to fence their stolen goods to a fence. Rewards could be fun missions, extra prestige for those missions and or new badges to hunt.

Or it could trigger an area event. For example killing enough trolls in Skyway seling superadine might trigger the skyway Raving Supertrolls.

Perhaps it's own mini arc using the midnight Squad investigating it? That would make use of the underused zone.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Good idea. This sounds like something the midnight squad could be interested in.

Perhaps coupled with a library hunt. Where you find the clues to a high end level mission of DA inside the midnight headquarters.
  11. Strangely enough, i like the idea of Dark Astoria. The idea of a zone in the city that has been just given up due to magical strangeness and ghosts is a fine one. It is a creepy place with all that fog hanging out and ghost running the street. But it needs a couple of storylines like Faultline and Croatora does. After all we wouldnt want whatever is going on there spread into talos right? Heroes should have a reason to venture there.

Gone are the days where reaching the mission was a bigger challenge then the mission itself.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh yeah, there's nothing I like better in the world than an all risk, no reward scenario. If my life isn't an equation that can only add up to zero or minus, it just hasn't been challenging enough!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh come on, the hollows run was an adrenaline boost. Big risk and it required some good steering to get there. It was the place to learn how to weave through mobs. Sure it was hard and I cursed the devs for it now and then. But it was never boring.
  13. [ QUOTE ]

Edit: The good thing about hazard zones is that you have to keep on your toes otherwise you will die, dont want this feeling taken away from the game.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I have to admit that is what i am missing in the new hollows zone. It is to easy now. Gone are the days where reaching the mission was a bigger challenge then the mission itself.

    Team etiquette

Most of the time I don't mind how i get invited to a team. If its blind i click yes/no and be done with it. If they contact me first i always respond in kind.

I DO get anoyed when I invite people politely (i never do blinds myself) that i dont get an answer back. I even go so far for thanking them for their reply. Not anwering is to me very very rude.

Hardly. Certain ones are great for grinding with AoE characters.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Agreed. I really enjoyed Eden, Crey's Folly & Dark Astoria in particular when I duo'd my warshade with a friend's controller.

I don't want to see the spawns changed in size in any Hazard zones - they should be more dangerous than city zones - but I would like to see some storyline contacts added to them (and hospitals/stores/trainers) to expand upon the lore of those zones and the factions there (like Striga, Croatoa and Faultline have), starting with Boomtown.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I am surprised to see that there are people enjoining the hazard zones. When i run through them i dont see anybody at all. Then again I am not in them a lot. But lets hope they can make the zones at least a bit more interesting for everybody then.
  16. Also I wouldnt be surprised if a dead zones like Boomtown get a revamp. You know the places where nobody goes unless they realy have to and are out of drop mission options.

Basicly every hazard zone is a waste of server space now.

    So, Fortunatas.

Just got my first Fortunata and had no chance to try her out for real. I was a bit worried how she would do (especially after seeeing the crab in action) to be honest. Now I want that free respec to overhaul her and use some of your tips! Thanks.
