Ah yes I noticed the shinyness myself. As I had to rebuild my whole system this week (Trojans and not knowing how to operate dangerous programs to deactivate them is not a good combination). I thought it was just my graphic cards configured in a different way. Guess I was wrong.
Shiny good. -
Sal.
You did read GR response in this thread right? You WILL get those badges on every toon. It doesnt matter (much) if you play em or not.
The only thing you have to ask yourself for each of your 12 toons. Which badges do i want to collect first. I find that I am dilligent in returning to my day job spot before logging of with each toon. Which helps me identify more with my character btw.
Now you will have to make toons on zukunft and vigilance. All those slots that could be spending time logged of to collect badges!!!!!!
I am way ahead of you there -

Thankyou all for your kind thoughts, but it's not the game that I don't enjoy, it's my emotional disconnection that is making the people I know on the other side of the monitor suffer. To that end, I'm going to be seeing a few doctors and getting some help. I'm hopeful.

Good luck with your soul search. I hope you can find what you need to enjoy the world again. It can be a daunting journey to get there but don't give up that hope you are feeling. I wish you well. -
The good. Everybody got the same problem.
The bad. Yes it is anoying.
My fear. A temp buyable power to replace the need for stamina. Lets hope that power never comes. -
Just tried this one out and it works. It makes the MM feel a whole different character. Instead of sending your minions forth you stroll in and punch a baddie on the nose. When he retaliates your flunkies swarm him and beat the mob to a bloody pulp.
There is but one tiny little problem. No fun melee attack options for us MM's!!!!!!
Things like the barehanded slap in the face! -
Or you could always do classics.
Bananas. Can your blaster demolish the opponents before they do the same to you?
Donkey Kong. Jump those barrels jump boy!
Pacman. Toggle the superspeed on and eat those enhancements before the troops from Arachnos close up on you!
-
Of course you could do the same thing as they do in the winter event missions. Every time you complete a tf you get to choose a cossie reward of choice. Can be a weapon or some gloves etc.
-
If the pets are in BG mode. They will attack whoever is attacking me? Or whomever I am attacking?

The biggest problem doing a thing with skyscrapers (i like the king kong idea though) is to make sure that every hero/villain can join the fun despite their travel powers.
But anyway:
Other things one could do with skyscrapers is the obvious rescue. People cleaning windows dropping down hoping that a hero can safe them before they go splat.
Or nasty villains observing the town from high spots like those pesky snipers in Founders.
Perhaps alternate entrances into the building. Some baddies went in the building through one of the windows and guess who has to follow em?
Of course there is the wandering contact or two who prefers to avoid the bustling streets and likes to perch on high spots.
Of course there could also be normal mobs running around on thsoe high places. Like the clockwork or goldbrickers. -
Or:
Or a command and conquer style game. Play one of the factions. Expand your powerbase and destroy the other factions while avoiding to get the full attention of the meddling heroes.Until your doomsday device is ready of course and your unstoppable armies take on the best Paragoncity has to offer. -
SimCity with Paragoncity.
With random events like Rikti invasion, the hollowing, a quake or two, some ancient gods making their home in your neighbourhood, some fairies who like to life on our planet, a giant squid in the harbour, zombies running amok and of course heroic battles demolishing stuff all around the town. Can you build up the town to it fullest potential before Nemesis releases his latest scheme?
This one actually would be fun to play. -

So open your enhancement/power management window.

Then you have to spend time checking out your build. Much easier to just see the title of the build. Would be irritating to be in a tf and then find out you are on PvP not TF mode.
Not to mention those with altism like me. Remembering builds for a few toons np. Remember em all is a different cup of tea though. -
Not a bad idea actually. If not done so allready.

She is a dangerous woman. Do not underestimate her.

Perhaps there should be a salesperson at the black market instead? Who buys stuff at inflated prices if you really want to get rid of them fast?
-
Well I got an invitation for a nice celebration in hotel the Zig. From Statesman and friends.See he does care about us! What shall I wear tux or those nice striped jumpsuits?
Happy Thanksgiving American friends. Us Euro types will guard the fort. -
This has indeed been discussed quite a lot of time. Every week or so to be honest. Better read the old threads, then comment on those.
At the moment the discussions are at a stand still. Some, like me, are very much in favour for this while others are equally as strong in disfavour against it. Neither side seems to be able to convince the other side at the moment. Despite numerous attempts to do so. A new thread about the subject wont change that fact. -
How about a PvP zone for the zombie invasions instead? Say a special instanced zone? With the fun of heroes becoming infected as a zombiefied version of themselves? Thus becoming an enemy for the duration of the raid? A zone where heroes and villains can work together untill they become zombies themselves? Sounds like a fun PvP event to me.

And yes, WoW has animated hair.

So does Lineage II. A game predating Coh and WoW. Still with awesome graphics as well. Also an NCSoft game btw. -
You don't need a big community to do epic Stuff. You need enough willing people to do them and someone to organize the epic event.
You doing good on that Defiant.
Ps. Great video btw. If you havent done so. Watch em all. -
Tried to pull myself away as well a few years back. Didnt work out. There is something immensely satisfying about this game that keeps pulling you back.
Must be the capes.
Anyway, welcome back. -
Talking about more npc interaction. How about a bunch of old man sitting on a bench nearby where you are fighting giving critique at your performance?
This is after all the town where generations of heroes have done their thing. Some people are jaded. Others are just retired and some are know it alls who have never hunted a skull themself.
Old man 1: Nice move from that hero
Old man 2: You call that nice? The villain easily dodged that jab. He is not even out just staggering a little.
Old man 3: In my time when we slugged a villain he would stay down.
Old man 2: Oh look, the hero has forgotten the other one.
Old man 1: That knife looks nasty.
Old man 3: Should we? Ouch that must have hurt.
Old man 1: Looks like the hero went down.
Old man 2: Thats with the heroes these days. They dont have the stamina anymore for a good slugfest.
Old man 3: It's that hospital teleporting thingie, makes em soft in the head.
Old man 1: Uh oh, those hellions are coming our way.
Old man 2: Where is a hero when you need him?

A crowd is a riot waiting to happen.
I like the idea. Crowds going wild. Crowds getting threatened. Crowds gaping around when heroes and villains duke it out. Crowds on a protest march.
Bring on the crowds! -
Out of style...
Well, it wasn't out of style in the good ole comic age this game is based on. So bring on the hairy chests as real man do indeed have hairy chests. Unless they wear spandex.
