Sad times indeed. -
And as no guarantee can ever be given, there will remain this group playing this game that will remain vehemently against merging.
I personally think that the risk of losing your names and such is not that big, but it will happen to some people. -
Main: Gunbunny, AR/dev blaster.
She picked up the gun after being on the wrong end of the thugs out there to much. With revenge in her heart she struck out to deliver justice to everything and anything she could find. Now after hitting 50 and bringing thugs to th zig by the hundreds the fire is going out. The thirst for revenge mostly quenched. Perhaps time to let the healing start in earnest.
Other main: Grinning Spade MM thugs/Dark.
Prior Goal build an empire create the doomsday machine and rule the world. After all only a genius like him would be worthy to do this right? Somehow this doesn't appeal to him anymore. TO much work to much backstabbers and lets face it what do you get for all your efforts in return? Plus he saw to many so called geniuses fail again and again and a good thing that was. Current goal is to maintain his lifestyle and position without the need to prove himself constantly. Yet the fire still burns albeit less strong. -
I share your concern Guillermo but this topic has been discussed very regularly on these boards. They tend to make people aggregated. SO while I agree with you it is better to let this topic rest for a while.
For the record, the devs have been stated that there are no plans to merge the servers at this moment. -
Well obviously the SG leader has to make costumes for all 3 bodytypes. I assume that set would then be stored as a partial costume file.
Your solution would still be an improvement over the current system of making sg costumes. It however still got the problem of people (like me) who will be very very reluctant to sacrifice one of their costume slots for an SG cossie. -
Now you wait and reread what Shadowe has written. Sound like she is given good advice. In the meanwhile, don't expect to be playing to soon. This is a holiday season after all. Maybe this is the time to do some trials?
-
Hmm, even if we don't need it. Those pirate caves sounds interesting. If they are under PO and Cap that could give interesting possibilities. The PTS, the pirate fortress smuggling routes from the family, lets not forget the snakes who need some nestling places and the ever present CoT who seem to like dark dank places. There is potential for such a feature.

After 1 week you will find it hard to see people on the ski slope. Nobody is going to save new year and those presents are lie forgotten. 3 weeks is more then enough.

As to binding a group together surly that's the current point of the SG colors? the thing is a actual costume is never going to accommodate every players character are you going to force members to get rid of there robotic arm? or bestial legs? because they don't fit with the costume that's why colors work better every one can apply colors to there cu rent costume (unless there nude) and those colors unify the team.
[/ QUOTE ]
An SG cossie is more then just the colors. It defines things like capes, what chest pieces to use what pants to use what for patterns to use etc. The idea is to make a cossie set that makes everybody look as if they are from the same organization. Think longsbow they look pretty similar but have individual differences.
Of course some people wont be able to wear the standard issue sg cossie. They got cyber parts for example. For those the SG cossie should be adaptable. Thats what FFM is talking about above.
The SG leader designs the basic issue cossie with the SG tailor. This set would be available to everyone in a special SG costume slot. Then every individual can optimize this costume to fit his own personal look using the normal tailor for the normal fees within design parameters set by the SG leader. -
Hmm, must try to get me some of those Lady Greys then.I play my merc/traps only very casually so i am not to bothered about the lack of firepower to much but it never hurts to enhance their damage dealing a bit. It is my toon that does the damage here.

Is it just me, or is the advanced run easier, if longer?

Must be because:
I made a time of 1:07!!!! and got my first bronze. Inconceivable! I never expected to be able do this. But this is a happy happy joy moment for me.
No travel powers or even sprint on because the harder i go the faster i fly of the trackBut i will try those soon and perhaps i can get silver
This is a milestone for me as i never managed to do this on the expert ski slope or even the bunny slope. -

Is such a option even really needed any more what with the ability to save costumes and the abundance of costume change tokens i for example have 3 slots on defender but have 5 costumes all 5 are saved and i can just swap them around as needed
If SGs wanted a costume all they would need to do is create the costume on a character that didn't have any special extras (cape, weapons, auras etc) save it and then host the file some where.
this would mean any one could have the SG costume and they could tweak it as they see fit (adding that robot arm(s)/legs, Hood, sunglasses etc)
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes i would applaud such a mode. Why? Because i love designing costumes and I would hate to lose a costume because my SG likes us all to have the same costume. And I am not the only one, I met quite a few people who don't even want to consider doing that. Going to a tailor for every SG change is silly. Say you want to do SG business once a week then you would lose 2 of those free tailor sessions a week. Those free tailor session would be gone in one month.
But why bother with an SG costume in the first place? Easy, it is something to bind the fellow SG members together. I have seen it work in the SG's that use this. -

That way, you get a slot for SG's that you only get when you're IN an SG
[/ QUOTE ]
No, but only because it's just an extra costume slot. It costs nothing to make an SG, so you get to level 10, and you make yourself an SG, and you get an extra costume slot. They might as well just hand out a slot at level 10. It would use fewer resources.
[/ QUOTE ]
The point is that's it's a limited slot. Sure, for 1 man SG's it's another slot, but for people actually in full SG's, it's not. It's merely a slot that is for the SG costume only, but they can choose to use it or not. It should use prestige to set it up and change, and any minor customisations made at the character level would cost inf.

Sounds like a good way to develop this idea. SG leader designs the SG cossie and members an change it a bit to give it their own flair. -
Yesterday or today. Lets say a happy cakeday! With a special ingredient for those behind the bars days. Tip careful with eating or you will have to visit the dentist.
-
This came up when I read the tailor in tikki lounge thread.
A tailor in your SG.
Not a tailor with all the trims and stuff a normal tailor got. But a tailor who give you SG uniforms. The SG leader designs costumes for male/female/huge bodies. Then by clicking on the SG tailor your own costume will be temporarily replaced with the SG costume (leaving face/hair etc intact).
Great for Raids and SG missions. I am sure they will become popular again sometime. -

Plenty of point for 'it happens in the comics' and such, but, well, unless they make all mobs use Rikti Invasion coding and conning, then there really is no way to replicate any of this, and probably wont be. And, as Raven said, lotsa time spent for something that would most likely just cause a hella lot of arguments.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well you got a point there. If your brawl still oneshot a hellion in atlas park, your identity is blown anyway. They might not know which particular hero you are but they do know there is something fishy about you. -
Unless we start doing civy costume contests under Atlas Statue I doubt overcrowding will be a problem. It doesn't matter if you encounter a hero in cossie or one in civy mode. Your pc will have to download the info and do the math all the same.
The reason why I am feeling that this is an idea worth exploring is the OP comment on doing secret identity missions. That is what makes it from just a nice RP tool into a nice new sort of mission tool. -
But when somebody assaults clark kent/peterparker etc in public. What do they so then? Play along that's what. Unless it gets life threatening.
So what would a coh hero do when a hellion demands his purse? Well do a purse tugging first but in the end the villain probably gets it because he cant blow his cover in front of an audience.
What happens when the Vazis want to take his body? Well he probably runs around the corner, transforms and then beat the snot out of them. -

Got the same problem here. Never even completed a ski run. -

I like the idea about not having any powers until you blow your cover (which should be bad)
I like the idea of getting mugged (cost you a bit of inf in most cases)
[/ QUOTE ]
I like those ideas too... but not exclusively. The primary problem with systematising this kind of thing is it makes everyone the same and they aren't.
Let's take my current main, Nitoichi. Stick her in a dress and she's another civilian. Her 'powers' are training. If someone attacks her in the street, they got a horrible shock. War Crow was a magician steeped in magic designed to keep him alive in combat, he's never 'unpowered.' The current system doesn't really work for either of them, but systematising a mechanism which turns them into civilians to make mobs react differently isn't actually any better.
Some form of real mechanism to handle the variety of 'secret identities' the heroes of Paragon have would be enormously complex and take a lot of development. It probably isn't worth the time to develop, when it comes down to it. Not unless it were included in a game from scratch.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ever seen Peter Peter or Clark Kent clobber people who bother them when they are not spiderman or superman? No of course not. Because their heroic identity is a secret one and they write stories about what happens if they fail to keep their identity secret.
Sure, when some punk bothers my heroes most of them are well capable of dealing with the problem. However they wont because that would blow their cover. Blowing your cover is bad.
So the things you can do in your secret identity are limited. Sure you can hulk out but then you have to do damage control (ie it would cost you influence). So limiting people to brawl, a baseball bat or a revolver and normal walking/running sounds like normal useable powers. Plus of course the go hero button. -
Most duo's work well together. Blaster blaster is fun as you will have to work smartly to avoid getting faceplanted but you do wickedly damage. Your secondaries can be used to keep the enemies away from you.
A scrapper scrapper combo would work well as well of course. Good damage, good survivability. Plenty of fun working close together sharing a joke or two. -

So what you say is that we are stuck with double xp always and everywhere? That the only way to avoid that is to turn our earn xp semi permanently off?
[/ QUOTE ]
Not even that will avoid it as when you turn the XP back on again, the Patrol XP will still be there to be used. You can, at most, only delay for how long it will be applied.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep that works.
I still think that it is a bug though. I can't imagine them having it designed this way as it wouldn't make much sense. Neither in concept nor in customer friendly way. -

Found her and yeah i have had the same problems with designing my cossie with those pieces she used. Glad to say i choose wisely. A rework is in order here! -

I love the idea about secret missions though. That sounds like a good reason to do this.
