But when you do a run at tenacious then you cannot say that it is not soloable.

That's why I was requesting reviews, for those detailsAfter so much testing I was getting jaded and the fact the first map is a boat didn't phase me (though I suppose if there is no mention that it is a boat then it could just as well be a warehouse? There is no particulary nautical scenary in it.)
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, it is the typical boat map. My first thought was: What am I doing on a boat? Did I miss something in the briefing?
[ QUOTE ]
I confess the first faction was hellions, I much prefer them for lowbie fighting to begin with, but after making the first mission I decided I wanted to make it a 1-54 arc and Hellions stop at 20 or so. Of all the other factions only Council seem to span that whole range while not being too annoying with side-effect status.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's true, and precisely the reason why I hate them. Just like the CoT, you encounter them so often.
[ QUOTE ]
The earning cash is pretty much what the arc and contact (my character) is about. Someone who can do incredible things deciding to put on spandex and stop purse snatchers for the goodness of mankind always struck me as very un-realistic. Doing good but helping yourself, is the objective.
[/ QUOTE ]
The curved line to damnation here. Might be interesting to add a bit of soulsearching for the hero here. Do you go for the easy money or do you stay pure.
[ QUOTE ]
I suppose in pure good RP form the first mission is the moment to choose not to take the mission after all. I struggled a bit at the end to make the arc's end not be un-ethical. It's why the different options are left open leaving it to the player's decision offscreen
[/ QUOTE ]
The last part puzzled me yes. I did not know what the contact expected me to do.
[ QUOTE ]
The search text you mean the bar when we click on a glowie? Forgot that, added a little blurb.
[/ QUOTE ]
yes that one
[ QUOTE ]
The ally did have a text at the end, I'm not sure what happened. She says she would not let you go alone, etc. I'll replay the arc once more and see if its borked.
[/ QUOTE ]
I should write these things down I guess, my memory is failing me here. Could have been another mission or a bug. Basicly the message for me is: Some parts you detailed pretty well, other parts got hardly any details at all.
[ QUOTE ]
You're correct about the clues and souvenir. I read neither usually and those friends I speak with also seldom do. I tried to make the text as explicative as possible to prevent the need of that. The souvenir I'll play with though, good point.
Thanks again for the critic, only way to improve ^^

Responding to points from tells that may be raised by others, on To Save A Single World:

I had spotted all of your clues. But ashamed I must say that a few were to subtle for my mind. I was probably sleepy at the time (trying to save my face here).
But just for the sake of others who are a bit clueless now and then, you might be a little less subtle, especially about the dead heroine returning thing.
About the arc not being soloable. I did not have any trouble on heroic with my DB/WS scrapper who still runs around with lowly SO's.
-
Well Kanto, the mission is very well doable on a lowbie. If I can do it with a freshly made character then it should be doable with most toons.
I liked the fact that you found use for some seldom used emotes and the fact that things seemed to happen beyond what the contact gives. Also the use of background noise to cover up the swearing was a nice touch.
I did have trouble with the enemy faction. I don't like council. Blame some overlong TF for that one. At least there weren't caves. I also was not happy with the fact that I had to do these things to earn money, doesn't feel very heroic to me. But those are personal matters.
The ship in the first mission felt very much out of place. At least the contact could have talked about taking a cab or something to IP.
You are a bit inconsequent with your details. In the first mission you forgot to insert a search text. In the last one the ally missed a dialogue. There are also no clues or a souvenir. When you compare this to funny success briefing after the bankjob there is a shrill contrast.
I think it can be a worthy arc, just needs a bit work here and there. -
I got less tickets for defeating enemies as well and yes I had noticed it before.
-
I find that there is a great difference between the ticket dropping from a lowlevel compared to a high level character. Where my lowlevel get loads of tickets including 100+ for completing a mission, my level 50 doing the same mission only gets 10 for completing it. This seems to be broken.

I find it strange that you had trouble with the boss. He is on the weakest setting possible. And yes he runs, but only at 10% of his hitpoints.
[/ QUOTE ]
I didn't notice the jump in level until after the mission (this is why consistent level caps are good; people shouldn't have to check for this kind of thing), so I didn't have mez protection on. He beaned me with a stun and killed me with his spawn while I was wobbling around. A level 10 or below would have more trouble, because custom mobs in general are -very- tough to handle for low-level toons. They're stronger than regular mobs whether you like it or not, and this one can stun.
[/ QUOTE ]
Capping the level to 10 in that mission is hard. You only have two spawns to play with in the first place. It is a tiny map.
[ QUOTE ]
I think Xemulas is offering proofreading services. The reason I don't bring out specific examples of errors is that English is not my primary language, either, and thus I don't feel I'm allowed to bicker -too- much about it. The lack of commas is somewhat disturbing, though.
[/ QUOTE ]
I did not want to take to much of his time as he was friendly enough to do one of my arcs. I wanted to tweak this one more before letting him proofreading it. And yes adding a bit more story was part of the plan. But it will never become a full blown story though.
[ QUOTE ]
You may disagree with this, but I believe arcs should be comfortable for characters of any level. People flashback Ouroboros arcs, you know. It could be done as easily as adding a random non-required encounter where some police officers are bringing in a Skull or something for arrest, limiting the arc to maximum level 14, as an example.
[/ QUOTE ]
I disagree comnpletely with this. For one very important thing. Low levels have no IO's no SO's and if they have training enhancement, then they don't have 6 slots of it.
They also don't have funny accolades either.
There is a big difference between a true lowbie and a exemplared high level toon. -
Thanks for the review. Honest and to the point. To say that I am disappointed with the results is a given. It is a good thing that there have been people who did enjoy it. So I guess that makes the arc Marmite. You like it or you hate it. Snakes is not for everybody.
For the language errors. English is not my home language and it shows. I did everything in my power to make the text as good as possible but to no avail apparently.
I admit the story is not very strong, it was more the idea to show how an organization like the BM could survive on the RI. I tried to make things more interesting by adding little side jokes and such.
The level cap you are talking about is set by the lowest cap in the arc which is 1-9. I made sure that the low end was kept at 1 and frankly the high end was of much less importance. This arc is designed for lowbies. The length of the whole arc is such that you can level from 2 to 5 with it.
I find it strange that you had trouble with the boss. He is on the weakest setting possible. And yes he runs, but only at 10% of his hitpoints. -
My agent reported that they called her their queen. They also wanted her to wait for their leader. As they were waiting for the Black Cat Neko I wonder if those two are connected. This could mean that BCN is the leader perhaps?
But at least we saved the damsel, who wasnt in much direct danger but hogwash, lets not get distracted here. -
Well i could ask a young heroic lady who despite hating me owes me enough to help you out,she is wp/scrapper. For our side I got more choice but none very highly advanced, a stalker, a brute, a widow and even a lady who likes to play around with corpses to much. Problem will be to set up a time we both can play
-
Done the hero part as well. Still a shame that you are at your space maximum again. The two stories fit nicely together with the little in continuity i told you about in a tell.
I recommend doing the villain side first btw. All in all, to me you have proved that: Yes you can do serious. -
yeah those maps can be tricky, i am considering reducing one of my maps as well because it suffers the same problem.
-
A proper Heist
ID: 82059
Level: 1-14, villain
Mini review: The dialogue from the contact is very good, the info of the custom mobs is so good i want to copy and paste them to use on my characters. The missions are perfectly doable with a lowbie. It could use a little work on the missions themselves though. They are a bit bland and sometimes to long. However the dialogue makes up for those flaws. -
I understand the reasoning, but why would they need RIP to be there in the first place? Their own very heavily armed and armored policeman should be up for the job. Why get squishie cops from RI come over then?
Shame, you ran out of space to add more details. Can't be helped I guess. Despite that, it is well worth the time spend to play it. -
Quite an elaborate introduction! Welcome to the forum and help us to keep our hopes up!
-
Done Marketing Opportunity and it surely was an evil wicked plot. Sure the story been told before but participating in this sort of thing makes you feel rather evil.
Wasn't to fond about the multiple remarks that people died but that is a personal thing.
You used the option to customize your own groups with a vengeance and that resulted in a few interesting opponents. Best thing was that the opponents, even if they were the same group, kept adapting to the story. Clever use of the possibilities that MA offers here. Only problem I had was with the appearance of Rippers. That was breaking the 4th wall a bit.
I must say that this is an arc where a bit of ghosting is to be recommended. As some of the maps (the last one particualry) is to big to just fight everybody. And I didn't get paid to fight everybody in there!
If you got space, then a bit of pimping up might be worth it. Your custom characters are a bit bare on their info. Another small thing was the evidence I had to plant, would be more interesting if you could elaborate on that.
All in all, I am interested enough to try the other side here as well -
Saving the world is so much cliche
A proper hero could do both at the same time. Trust me, I found out the hard way. To tired now to have much cohesive thought though.
Did none of the 'arrested' catgirls voluntered to talk? -
What? 4 lvl 50 in 12 months?
In my time you would be happy if you got 1 toon to level 40 at your 12 month mark. You would be even more glad if you could afford that shiny new SO enhancement you so needed to!
You young ones have it to easy now -
Not possible unfortunately to make those look good. We understand that the devs tried to do it but cant make it work properly.
Ps. there is a special costume request threat in the developers part of the forum. I give you a hint. it is the one with the most posts. -
Hmm, sounds intriguing.
I will give them a shot later on (probably not before Saturday). But remembering the bad mouth talk from Mr Handyman whose fist spoke even more louder, I better not try with my most squishiest of my squishy toon collection. -
I know this is all because of the synchronizing between US and EU servers. Maintenance must be done on the same time and all that.
Well, Friday and tuesday afternoons for that matter happen to be times where a lot of us EU types like to game. Daily maintenance in the mornings was irritating. But this is more then just irritating.
One of the reasons that I started playing on EU servers was that I wanted to have events, maintenance etc be done on EU convenient timing. So please with every bit of due respect.
Don't make a habit of this. -
Question for Col i mean. (sorry sorry blond moment here)
From reading your reviews you are using a pretty hard AT to do them. Might I suggest using a more appropriate one when you test low level arcs? I found that trying to survive with a lowbie gives another perspective to an arc. Especially when it is supposedly designed for lowbies. -
It helps to do that arc when you are playing a lowbie (I did that in the first map). Then the wanting to prove you are not a noob thing sounds better.
My advice to Noobbuster. Remove the crate from the objectives list. And call it a crate full of precious china or something. Then he who destroys it, must surely be a noob and in need for a bust. And erm longbow might be better then skulls. After all you just did a criminal act! Good for villains but not heroic. -
I think you caught all the clues herczeg. In fact I haven't seen BCN or a photo. But it was nice to see Emilio again.
And for the statuette theft? Well let me guess, a kitten?
I concur on trying to find out things about the new evidence. It also seems that at least one party of kittens does not like the idea of more kittens turning up. Which does suggest a third party being involved yes. -

Don't forget (for those that have noticed) the AE building are very complex structures compared to other buildings. The actual floors are INSIDe the building. If your really bored you can even watch people fly around outside.

You are right, Indeed, it is a very Neat building. Kuddos there no doubt about that.
But still, it is so terribly wrong at some places.
