My name is from my villain MM. A fellow so outspoken and fun to play that he made me RP a lot. I named him Grinning Spade because he wore he mask with a huge grin on it and I used the spade as the symbol on his suit. Nothing fancy about that name actually but it suited me as a nice name for a gentleman villain who still believes in secret identities, dramatic gestures, a bit of chivalry and a fondness for tying damsels to railroad tracks while he twitches his mustache and cackles hysterically.
When I decided to join the forums, I chose him as my handle because he did like to talk so much and I liked being in character with him. The perfect persona for a superhero game.
Trivia. He is not my Global name. That one is Gunbunny but she is less likely to argue with wordsAnd when I joined she was basically mothballed.
More trivia: My city of cute avatar for this toon based on his costume by the excellent Psygon had to be removed because it (together with the name) had to much similarities with a racial slur from the NA past. A thing that caused some complaints when the EU forum merged with the NA forum. -
Quote:Do not worry, we will watch. For your trailers, we will make time!NO NO NO NO NO!!! I can't post my I-16 trailer yet, I haven't gotten the final music licensing permission! And if the issue goes live first, everyone will be too busy to watch it...

And music licensing? You telling me that all those youtube movies use licensed music?
And lets hope this will be the i16 launch. -
Nice idea, but I could not check it out because alt tabbing plays havoc on my poor computer. So for me it would ruin the arc.
-
When I played a villain and ran through their arcs the first few times. I read it all, everything. A thing I hardly bother with Hero side. The quality of the arcs is so much better then that of the blue side.
It also inspires me to pay more attention to my characters roleplay wise (Mind you, I am not an online roleplayer yet he makes me now and then). For me, the true measure of how much I like Villains is the fact that my handle here is Grinning Spade. I chose him because he was outspoken, gallant and yes wickedly evil as well, in a gentlemanly sort of way. He had something to say.
I love the red side. If they chose to drop one of the sides, let it be blue. -
Quote:Yes. Don't forget that even a little new content is better then 0 new content.Don't want to start again but would prefer to start again (in a new game with less content) than start again in a game you apparently love?
Quote:I have had team invites on Defiant Villains... even *shock* random invites with no tell, which hardly happens on Hero side.
I wouldn't by choice move to the US servers but wouldn't object to having the lists merge, which IMO will happen at some point anyway.
EU is by no means dead, GR I think (hope) will vastly improve all levels and sides with more people in game.
Not saying it is impossible to get a PuG, hey everybody can be lucky now and then, but they are rather rare. Especially compared to what it used to be. When I play, I assume that I will be soloing and the AT's I play reflect this. Soloing is fine but kinda lonely for a mmorpg.
I do NOT expect GR to enlarge the population of any of the EU servers by anything but a small margin. The EU branch is not dead, but the doctors at NCSoft don't intend to invest much into us anymore. (removed a bit of rant here). I like our Dev's to act and bring us EU people over to the NA side before the EU servers get even more depopulated. Preferably before I give up on this game. -
Quote:Well, the Germans and French might object.I'm pretty sure it also does English so there is no reason why everyone couldn't use the EU client
Quote:I'd love a server list merge...the opportunity to go from 2 english speaking servers to 13 would be too much for my altitis to handle. -
Normally I don't care much about double xp. But with i16, an xp boost would be nice to have to test out these new powerset combination's. For once I would like to have a double xp boost as well and am a bit envious.

Quote:Yup, one of the weekly DOOOOMMM tm subjects. While I support the idea of server mergers or server list mergers we stopped discussing this on the EU Forums because quite frankly everything had been said and the Dev's told us that there were no plans to do any such things.[btw if some of us EUers seem short tempered at this subject its because its been mentioned almost on a weekly basis]
Of course I am willing to jump on the board with this subject for our American friends -
Quote:The biggest problem (according to a Dev, I believe it was Ghost Falcon) is that the EU client differs from the NA client. Ours is modified for example to handle German and French. It's something that they've probably already considered, but there are some obvious issues:
(1) The biggest problem is server maintenance, especially when coupled with a new client release. If the EU and US servers were to both be accessible through the same client, the client has to be updated for everybody at once. Unfortunately, that means that maintenance would have to occur at a time that is guaranteed to be inconvenient for at least some countries. -
Imp and fairy ears. Can't help it, they are so cute.
Plus the usual suspects. Trenchcoats, open jacket, wide neckchain, stilettos, fairy wings, top hats and other things mentioned above. -
Quote:Well there is the whole _EU and _NA thing. Worked for the forums, would work for globals as wellWe would all welcome this however how would you handle global handles and characters with the same name if we were just copied onto another server?
Both my US and EU account are @damz so which one would keep its global handle?
Would not solve the issue with avatar names and quite a few people are vehemently against losing their avatar name.
Personally, I think that nothing is going to change until GR has been activated to see if that has success. -
Quote:Tried leaving before, didn't workGrinning, Noooooooooooo!
You can't leave us! D=
...
Well, you can, at least until you get to the door where we then tie you up and burn you
Something in this game keeps pulling me.
So, not running away yet. Just stating that moving to NA servers without the benefits/toons I worked and paid for is not an option I am willing to take. -
And the CoV game, the (forgot the name) one where you got the jump pack, I got a toon transferred bought a few spare slots. You forgot the magic booster btw.
I didn't the valkyrie pack or the science one. Basically because I tend to lose interest in this game. And yes, having not many people to play with is part (and only part mind you) of the problem. -
Can't help but agree to the OP.
Sure, I could start a new account and move to the NA side. But losing all the toons I love, losing all the effort I put into them, losing 48 months of vet rewards I am attached to, not to mention all those packs I bought, I have all but the last two.
Now I could go and abandon it all to play on the NA servers, having to pay again for the privilege of playing this game To be honest I rather start playing CO then star again from scratch.
I would love to get access to those 11 extra servers though. -
Late game is when you can level your own VEAT or Kheldian and realize there is no reason to race to the finish line. It is also about having reached that finish line and realizing that for some strange reason you want to collect all of those badges or gain the most powerful enhancements you can get your hands on.
Conclusion, late game start at level 50. -
Quote:Well, I will definitely try a rad blaster and a claw brute. It would be nice though to have some new content or even refurbished content to level them with. Yes even AE-content get tedious after awhile. If im completely honest i was in the "no more QOL changes!!!!" camp, but all these changes in this issue have turned the game into a whole new game for me.
I could actually happily play for hours on end again without getting bored! Though i do admit i want/cant wait until the GR content bomb hits, for now im more than satisfied with all these changes.
My test server elec/fire scrapper just looks sheer awesome in battle
All I am asking is that they bring us those nice QoL things with a few pieces of new content to keep us happy. It is not as if it is hard to make stories these days, the most important thing is to have a decent writer. -
-
More powersets to play with is always nice.
The ability to color your powers is nice as well I guess.
Supersidekick and other QOL things are always welcome.
Hard needed nerfs to mistakes from the past a neccesity and lets hope they did it well this time.
But yes, I am missing much needed new content. -
So miss please explain to me. You said that this villain kidnapped you form a high security facility. Then you just followed him around towards the entrance? Even when the police squad distracted him with that ambush? Do you think I am stupid or something? Tell us how long you are working for this... Grinning Spade person?
-
Shame I missed the 2nd half of those competition. I even had practiced running those railroad tracks. I am sure I would have won that one. I was also sure to win that cossie contest and finding you with the hide and seek. hmmm, I sense a pattern here.
Thank you and your buddies from Echo for organizing these games. -
Oh well, all speculations aside. I find it amusing that such a paper is written about something like Zombie Apocalypse. As good a subject as any other plague thing.
-
Quote:Join either Defiant Events or Sals Badgehunters (Union). Both are excellent resources for TF fun and things like Mothership raids.I NEED AN ADULT!
Also - any suggestions what I should do/where I should go first? I wandered around last night completely aimlessly with nothing happening
You can explore the AE as well. There are excellent arcs out there. Great for when you can't find a non farming team and when you have done all the regular content already. -
Sounds fair enough to me. I am curious if you can jump a train unpowered though. Anyone tried and succeed that?
-
Quote:I am a firm believer that there is not something as a perpetuum mobile. Or free endless sources of power. Whatever drivers these zombies needs energy to do its work. That energy, considering the fact that it targets organics (with a fondness for humans), is probably organic in nature as well. The paper considers the scenario if zombies can reanimate corpses too. This is zombie genre canon, no?
And why rapidly die off? Only in the "28 Days" type scenario. Depending on what is animating them, they might be immortal!
The short story "I am Legend" by Richard Matheson (don't know about the movies) has a nice twist on that topic.
And, if survivalists are the only human beings that survive, can humanity be said to have survived?
That said, there is theoretically loads of organics to consume. Question is what they can use for fuel source. Luckily we all know they go for the brain -
