Merry birthday to you Damz and a jolly new year. 23, oh to be young again. Sigh.

No, thank you very much.
I really like the fact that I am able to play my MM's witpout having to miss half the map by inpatient players. I like the fact that my pets now zone with me even if they lose one of the upgrades while doing so. I like it that no longer am I the person everybody has to wait for (except for my long loads that is).

Of course it is encouraging that we CAN get server lag. However, having every person in a zone crash at the same time (including yours truly) is a sign that the hamsters need replacing. Funny detail, we could not relog that same character for a long time either. The zone was truly fully crashed.

Well in that case let me introduce you to the wonders War Witch has left in the Pocket D zone and why it is better to avoid a certain desperate young fellow with such bad pick up lines. Because he might pick on you!
Please try: Love Spurned

Quote:On higher level teams tot is a good fun business because they can handle the +3 level swarms of mobs you get when fully teamed. Try that on a pre SO team and you die, a lot. Tried it today and died every other spawn on a scrapper. When my system crashed after another wipeout, I did not bother going back. Instead I logged a high level toon and had fun.Probably not much use to you on villians, but I'd happily run a ToT team on Onion Heroes for anyone wanting the badges. We did about a hours worth in PI last night, mopped up all the defeat badges (including Jack and Echoai) and the first clothes horse badge. Only got one bit of salvage, but then Dev's hate the EU so thats to be expected.
The difficulty of the mob spawns should not go up that much for teaming lowbies. I would suggest +0 for 1-12, +1 13-21,+2 23-32, +3 32 plus. This reflect training, DO, SO range enhancements and epic powersets range. Since the mobs do not differ in difficulty in the whole level range, this seems a good alternate way of maing things difficult enough without wrecking it to lowbies. -
Quote:I was only allowed to enter 1 TO arc (1-15) which i am proud to say made it into the finals. Will play the level 1 - 15 arcs today at some point. Sad to see that none of the arcs i loved playing arent in it though
But there are some very good arcs out there so when you grow tired of knocking atthe doors, check them out. -

Quote:Its 33887 now, better edit this postWell, my original idea didn't pan out since the map I wanted was missing, but I think it all turned out for the better!
Come try out my first VEAT arc:
Name: Making Your Name
Arc ID: 337989
Levels: 1-5
Missions: 5
Just played it and right now it feels too rough so I didn't rate it yet as I assumed this is a work in progress and far from finished. One of the things that will be hard is setting the tone right. You've chosen to let the veat be treated like a grunt who has to do all the nasty dirty jobs and that is fine. But getting the sergeant right is the thing then. Including responses like "Sir, yes Sir, consider it done Sir!"
Biggest problem I had is that the arc is lacking a story, it is just a bunch of stuff that happens (I did the same with my arc and I realize that this does has not made my arc better. I am still considering how to include a decent storyline in mine). I think, that this one could use a storyline as well.
BTW, I really like this project. Good initiative here. -
In the process of your mission Tangled Weave now. I think it is going to become a very good arc but right now I bump into some things that are not yet right.
1st mission, I liked this one. All friendly here and then suddenly havoc and who is who? Should I intervene? Oi, they are shooting at me! Right that does it. Very nice indeed. I liked the named spiders. Perhaps they could have a short bio?
2nd mission is one I don't like much. Arachnos having a treaty with the snakes? Since when? They are barely tolerated because they are a nice faction to use for project Destiny weening. But it is novel to work with the snakes for once. Defeat alls however are never fun.
3d mission. Nice detailing with the dead coppers. I was dissapointed that the rippers opened fire upon me without a good cause. I am an Arachnos agent after all. Their motivation was a bit of a surprise and nobody is mentioning it later on. I got the gloowy and then got attacked. I 'arrest' the subject and then suddenly after he fades outa surprise mission fail. Is that intentional? If so, then you could make more certain that the player knows why and how he failed because i was puzzled by this and thought it was a bug. BTW the boss was very strong, I would not have been able to take him down without lots of inspirations and vet powers. As a lowly level 5 unenhanced soldier I would have been creamed. Perhaps you might consider toning him down a bit.
4d mission is the longbow clean up. Nothing special about this one, straight beat em up longbow. Only odd thing is Kalinda's dialogue. You seem to miss her speech a bit. Same thing with the first mission. It does not sound right to me.
I will do the last mission soon. So far an interesting arc.
5th mission
Big map for so little objectives. It is missing a climax and the map got plenty room to spare. Would be nice if it could tie all the missions together. I think that the hydra and the gizmor's would benefit from a bio to explain why I would take the risk of destroying valuable equipment. -
ok I give up, memes? Tried googling it but that didn't make me any wiser. So what is it and why do people dislike it?
-
Oooh, you are back! It was a shame that you deleted those first arcs in the first place but I will be checking down this arc for certain!

Best QoL improvement of this issue. The SSK system provides what it promises, ease of teaming.

Just curious, why are some of the feedback reactions in orange and the rest in yellow?

Quote:I know, these robots were horrible. Without something like Elude, I got clobbered by blue flagging groups of them on my db/wp scrapper. Not much fun that. These turn out to be the minions of Captain Dynamic's arch-enemy The Great Face. The box contained not a kitten but a note from Face, intended to delay Captain Dynamic long enough for the robots to capture him. The bots are actually pretty nasty, loaded with -Defense, +tohit buffs and END drains. Enough of them have Web Grenade to debuff my Recharge to -28%...and I start at 72.5% and I've got Quickness. As for the -Defense, I have just under 80% resistance to -Defense when EXed to 38, and I still saw my Base Defense get knocked down by -45% or so at times....

I like the idea but then again, I like playing MM's and used to solo of necessity a lot. Sometimes having a few extra bodies helps a lot.
I would simplefy the proposed system though. There are already NPC Pets in the game. Your rent a Thug (NPC) could simply be a temp power that is either timed of good for a couple of uses. Every time he dies, that's one charge and they stay with you if they don't die for say 15 minutes.
Then you could also have 3 different power levels.
The minion for little cost. Inf cost 10000, additional fee 10% of xp/inf.
The lieutenant for a more substantional cost. Say 100k, plus 25% of xp/inf.
The Boss, expensive but strong. Say 500k, plus 50% of xp/inf. -

Gunbunny: Okay citizen (grabs her trusty AR)
Distressed Civilian: Uhm, you su......
Gunbunny: Die! Die! Die! Demon spawned Pickle Yar!
BUDDA BUDDA BUDDA, Twoomp, Whoosh!
Gunbunny: At your service citizen, that jar wont bother you anymore!
Distressed Civilian staring at the contents of the pickle jar spread all over the place: Uhm thanks I guess.
Thats why. -
Then maybe you should not make a decision until GR hits. In the meanwhile you probably better continue exploring the red side since you seem to enjoy that the most right now. Just my two million pieces of inf.

Quote:That is good news. Just wondering out loud, would it be possible to do maintenance on half of the servers and then a few hours or days later the other half? I know I would not mind logging into another server now and then. The EU server status page should be functional now, please PM me if any of you notices further incoherence in the information displayed on that page.
As for the weekly maintenances, 2 days ago we announced a new Maintenance schedule that we will be testing from next week on. There will be 1 weekly maintenance instead of 2, and it will take place on Thursdays to free up the Friday slot. We are only testing this new schedule for the time being and may need to revert back to 2 maintenances a week if the impact on the live servers becomes visible. -
I am as fond of convenience as everyone else I am afraid. Just as I am fond of chocolate despite the fact that it is not good for me.
-
Hehe, yes that would be a nice idea indeed. I still see a lot of problems trying to make it into something that works without becoming a lag fest or bases rapidly being demolished by aoe attacks. But I am sure that it would be tremendous fun.

Quote:I understand your frustrations in this. But right now Pocket D, AE buildings or contacts are not far away. For that matter, neither is the superbase where you can get inspirations AND buffs so you can defeat that EB.Trouble? You bet!
SNIP
And it's ten times worse when I'm on a TF. Seriously, if you lose you're inspirations in Cimerora, you're SOL. NO-ONE sells any. At all. Especially when you're doing the ITF.
I do however concur that Cimerora could use a hospital inspiration guru. (seller sounds wrong somehow) Even if you can have a contact there with plenty of inspirations if yo do a few missions for him. -
Quote:Maybe you are right Memphis and I am vastly overstating this. But I see how much of the original content is being replaced by 'convenient' time savers that ruin the game for me. This says something about how inconvenient the original content is of course. And I have to say I think you're vastly overstating how this would hurt the "core of the game." I don't see it influencing the decision of which content people choose to run any more than the addition of another set of red shades in the costume editor would.
But, I want to avoid adding more conveniences that distract from in this case: using contacts or you superbase for inspirations. -
I can't make it this Saturday. But I hope you guys have a good time.

You do realize that when enemies can enter the base (and i like that idea), then every base would be subject to the old 'clear path' rule. Rendering most base build nowadays invalid. Of course you could make opening the base for invasions an optional thing.
