  1. My tip is to pick a secondary with some debuffs and/or extra control. The Aoe control in your primary tends to take a while to recharge (self-recharge buffs are good also btw: like Kinetics' Siphon Speed or Radiations's Accelerate Metabolism), and the sudden added aggro you often get needs a fast response. Theres no such thing as too much control.
  2. Especially those with end or recharge buffs. I also like /FF or /Dark Masterminds as my Secondary is Fire. It can be harder to build a decent fury bar with lots of pets running about however. A skilled Dominator tends to bring this problem with them too.

    Help!!! Fire/FF

For sheer damage Fire/Kinetics is the best build, I saw my Imps smacking some mobs after they had been Fulcrum'd....simply amazing. Rad is better than Kin from a defensive/control viewpoint however.

    Help!!! Fire/FF

The Imps are squishy so bubbles are quite good on em. As for the Fire/Rad thing, well my troller is Fire/Rad and is pretty tasty, however the extra damage you give the Imps with AM and EF isn't as great as you might think. At least with FF secondary you could just get the buffs saving you a lot of power and enh slots.
  5. Now that ED is upon us and Invincibilty's current Def buff is apparently being reduced, the occasions where the only thing stopping you from faceplanting is Unstoppable are going to be way more common.

    Taunt on a Brute

is brute taunt single target taunt?
If so provoke may be a better power for building up fury by getting attention of more enemies as it is a group taunt.

Its the same as the Tanker version, targetted ranged aoe hitting the target and up to four others nearby.

    Taunt on a Brute

I for one am glad I took it. With the glut of Masterminds on Defiant, getting my Fury bar up to a decent level in the average team can be hard work.
  8. I say take it; its bound to save your life many times if you do many Malta missions (lets face it, you cant avoid em). Dont worry so much about the crash, in I6 there will be many more of those "I know I'm about to die" moments, thats when Unstoppable comes into its own. You should be able to finish most battles before the duration runs out, or use it to make a fighting retreat if things have really gone belly up. When you've got all your armours up and Unstoppable running too, you should be capped or thereabouts against most damage types...

    */Kin Corruptor

Rad debuffs the defence of the mobs you hit, so its a pretty solid partner for Kinetics, which is very dependant on good accuracy. On the other hand, Kinetics isnt the most defensive set around so Ice is a good Primary to throw a bit more damage mitigation into your build (slowed and held enemies attack less). Dark Blast also falls into this category with its accuracy debuffing.

    Fire/Empath

I can see your point, the Controller Primaries pretty much own the Defender secondaries. Any Fire troller can solo with the best of em with well slotted Imps

    Fire/Empath

As for build advice, I would say from the Fire set take: Fire cages, flashfire (these two together are basically a second aoe hold) cinders, char, bonfire (if you have a spare slot this can be handy as a panic button or you can just stand on it and be pretty much melee-proof) Fire Imps (of course), maybe smoke too if you have enough space.

As far as Empathy goes, Healing aura, heal other, fortitude, clear mind, recovery aura are pretty much must haves, adrenalin boost and resurrect if you have the space.

    Fire/Empath

There are plenty of secondaries that are great for teams, but also help with soloing a lot more than Empathy does. Empathy is a team-focused set, where as a Controller is a character whose attention should be primarily on the mobs. With my Fire/ I went for Rad, the debuffs help me 1) hit the mobs more easily with control powers 2) reduce the ammount of damage coming from affected mobs drastically 3)stop me from being a buff-bot like kinetics and empathy would: the debuffs do the same thing, without having to cast powers on every team member between fights.

Also, the Rad set contains an awesome aoe hold (EM Pulse), best I've seen so far, together with choking cloud to boost crowd control options.

As far as I can see apart from giving you unlimited end, Empathy doesnt help your Controlling at all. I can imagine Fortitude and Clear Mind are great for the Imps however. By all means take Empathy if you really want to, It seems to me Kin or Rad meshes with the Fire Set a bit better.
