I feel like my parents just got divorced and daddy remarried, and I can't figure out if I like my new mommy yet.

My best friend says my new step-mom is hot, though, and I can kind of see where he's coming from.

    This is gonna be sweet.

    [/ QUOTE ]

ROFLMAO! That is a great analogy.

Oh and I think your step-mom's hot too.

    And yes, MUO is competition.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not for me it isn't. I'm happily going to say right now: no interest in it (especially if it's developed for Vista lol). If DC produced something at the same quality and type as CO* I might try it out, because I'm more fond of that universe. However, I know perfectly well that if I'm going to be spending 45$ a month (with 3 accounts active) anywhere on the internet, it's going to be RIGHT HERE.

In less than 2 months, the Titan Network has reached one thousand total Key members!

We'd like to thank everyone who's come out to support us, and remind you to stay tuned for the exciting ideas we have to continue to improve the Network!

Yay for members! Yay for ideas!

    Just...YAY!

    Nice job!

This video has taught me several things. The first was downloading the 1280 resolution vid was pointless with a 1024 screen, *doh*.

Also though, I learnt that there are going to be two very popular powersets with I11's release. Both Willpower and especially Dual Blades (the more visual of the two) look outstanding. The combo aspect of the powers was a surpise to me and adds another variant to an already variety-packed game.

On a tangent I noted the distinct lack of ponies. Obviously an oversight, one I'm willing to overlook due to the already phenomenal awesome-factor that I11 is shaping up to unleash upon the world.

Big up's to Castle too, so multi-talented.

well, someone has to be first... looks like it will be me. i11 does not get my juices going. yeah, the flashback system will be great. other than that... bleh first.. STILL no COP. second.. RARER DROPS!!! u mean even more rare than the LOTG set that costs roughly 100 mil if you can't get one to drop (i have gotten all the wings at least once; even a few clearity +stealth; and one aegis psi status res... not one LOTG yet) i can only hope that this is a sign from the devs that they are working on the aformentioned COP and will have it up in the near future. third.. instead of making villian kelds (or whatever) the devs decided to make 2 new powersets completely from scratch. granted these sets will be open to both sides, but still... i do intend to make a willpower tank. looking forward to it really, but it seems to me that there are other more pressing issues that could have been addressed. guess there is always i12

    Zamiel/All,

I guess you can count me in the "meh" group too. In fact, I gotta say this is the first time playing in nearly two years that I'm not excited about an upcoming expansion...proof positive that you can't please everyone all the time.

To wit, I was hoping that Dual Blades and Willpower were only two of SEVERAL different power sets coming out, and frankly I don't find Dual Blades all that exciting. The "Flashback" system IS something that's been asked about for quite a while, so it's nice we've finally gotten it, but I've already bought in to the Dev mindset of "Alts Are Good" in order to experience all the content through different characters.

Weapon Customization? Er, ALSO nice, but I don't have a lot of weapon based characters so I'm not thrilled there either. The wife, on the other hand, with her Katana scrapper, seems quite interested.

Though I have to say that the new IOs for Buffs/Debuffs are a good thing.

Like I said, can't please everyone everytime. Most folks commenting seem to be ecstatic, and I'm ALWAYS happy to get more updates and upgrades...these just weren't really the droids I was looking for.

    The times, they are changing.

Perhaps a trip in time is in order. Yes, I think we should activate Project Tic Toc. I'll go tell Dr. Tony Newman and Dr. Doug Phillips to fire up their swirly portal.

    SuckerPunch,

As a long-time fan/user of both CGT and CIT (not to mention a few postings on COH Faces), I'm SO glad folks like you and the rest of Team Titan have stepped up to continue supporting these external sites for the benefit of the greater CoX community.

It's an awful lot of work for free just to make a bunch of geeks happy. Please accept my heartfelt "thank you" on behalf of myself and the other members of Infinity's Titans of Paragon City.

Now, I'm off to get my Titan Key. Away!

    Here here!

    (Where? Where?? Oh, there...)

Seriously, I too welcome our returning Rikti invaders, and I also applaud the way the schedule's been broken up here and there. Nice job, Devs.

    Thanks, 'House!

An elegant synopsis. I think I'm going to have to go find this article. However, I doubt Jack will be reading this, which is a shame.

*ahem* I read the boards every day!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    BOOM! Take that!
Holy smoly I had no idea the devs visited the boards that often.
No wonder I still love this game after 33 months of bringing Justice to Paragon City!

As some of you may know, our very own Statesman, Jack Emmert, wrote an article for GameInformer Issue 169 - May 2007. He wrote an Article titled “The Future of MMO’s”.

Wonderful article Statesman! We the heroes of Paragon City are behind you! (You are the uber duber tank after all )

Oh man I LUSTED after HeroScape for Christmas two years ago. Ended up getting CoH instead, which in retrospect was easier. No setup required, storage is minimal, and I can play whenever I want!

But yeah...blending HeroScape warriors with HeroClix figs would be an interesting exercise.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
Unfortunately quite a few have... or have left for greener, newer pastures for other reasons.

As much as I dislike the bugs (hello, invisible objects... I'm in mortal fear of being AS'd by a cobbled-together generator on a Freak map, here.) I still play this game pretty much every DAY since I bought it... and thatw as 18 months ago.

    Yes.

    Every. DAY.

At my worst EQ moments it was once every three or four days. WoW, I jumped into it for a few hours a day over the course of a week or two, then backed off.

So, yeah, as much as I like to moan, whine, [censored], and complain... I'd REALLY have a lot to complain about if this game were to, I dunno, go away.

Kind of how I keep my sense of perspective, there.

I am seriously wierded out right now. Catching up on this thread I saw Foo summon Statesman! He summoned him like he was a primordial wizard or something. The powers of The Foo I knew were many, but scorcery and the magical arts? Whooo, those are new to me..

Yeah I noticed that too. Quite impressive! Foo's fu is VERY strong.

    You go, Foo!

GWs maintenace come out of the fresh boz sales a couple of tiems per year.

Once those sales start drying up - you can expect the online environment there to deteriorate. Its actually the one thats got a substationally different business model to the rest of the MMO styles right now.

$15/month id the goin rate in the market, but yes if you feel like you are not getting value for money then by all means leave.

The bloating their own salaries is a real low dig though.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Shoot...I wish I could bloat MY salary!

    [ QUOTE ]
Prime example yes. But none the less, they really should not give out release dates when they are nowhere near even close to having a game done.

    [/ QUOTE ]

well, no kidding, that's kinda what I'm getting at.

    [ QUOTE ]
Yeah, but when unforseen crap comes up, would giving us one bit, then another bit, then the big bit be better than just posting on the forums and taking a break from the game itself until the issue finally hits?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, we don't really know how it's put together. It could be that every issue is more or less a package deal. It seems likley with I8 that they could have given us the issue and then the vet rewards later, I guess.

Either way, people like to talk about how active the devs are on the forums, but quite frankly, as much as they might be, I'd like to see a little more feedback on stuff like this.

"Hey, guys, we're running behind because we have issues X, Y and Z to deal with. Not sure how long it'll take, we'll keep you posted."

"Hey, guys, got issue X dealt with, just wrapping up on Y but Z is still giving us some trouble, keep you posted."

But there is very little of that in terms of how they communicate their timing. Instead we're supposed to sit on our hands.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Agreed. I think the central issue here is communication. Or lack thereof.

I don't have a problem with I8 being a bit late, but going from a hoped-for September date to one nearly in December is more than a bit late.

But there's nothing we can do about it, really, except to voice our concerns and hope the devs can deliver new updates in a more timely manner once I8 is out.

    [/ QUOTE ]

What if, when it looked like it was going to be late, and let's not kid ourselves, someone knew it wasn't going to be a quick fix. When it looked like September just wasn't going to happen at all, would it have been acceptable to you (lurkers, you guys answer too, ok) if Cryptic came out and said, "I8 will be released, but we can't get all of it done. We're releasing this part now (insert something, costumes, safeguard missions, whatever isn't totally fubared right now) and we'll release the rest when it's ready."

I guess I'm playing dev-fangirl here and trying to find away that they can placate us.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    That've worked for me.

    (You go, fangirl)

We remember when Posi said they wanted to get I8 out by September right? Who would've been ok with a slight delay, like early October?

    [/ QUOTE ]

FWIW, I consider myself a CoX fanboi and even I'M dissapointed at I8's release date.

There. I've said it. Me wants shineys now, mommy.
