  1. You struck gold on #2 - the blue with stars up the sides is a great touch. Where is her lasso of truth though?
    Wonderwoman never looked so hot!
  2. Happy BirthWEEK Rowr!
You gotta be some cat to get half the week to party

This Drawing is in Progess. Should have it done tomorrow night.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You never posted a finished version, but I notice a shaded version on your Photobucket Page 1. Is that the final version? The Imp is looking very nice.
  4. Oh, noooos. I should read the boards more - I would have bought Rancid Pooh a thong for that. Then again, the bear doesn't even wear pants.

What a cool party, and gratz to the winners.
  5. Happy Birthday Brandon.... now throw some cake (and a fork) my way!

    ?? Photobucket's blocked at work....

    [/ QUOTE ]

You're kidding. I get Photobucket at work but DA's blocked (as porn). The Call of Duty gamers are all jealous of me because their boards are all blocked and I can still get to this one.

    psst....Grave Enigma not Graver.

    [/ QUOTE ]

DOH! I don't think I'll ever get that straight. My apologies.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Lol. I've been called worse.

You're not the first or last to mistake me for this true master of hero art. It's good to set lofty goals, but becoming Graver may be setting the bar a bit too high

Thanks for the kind words on my Roxstar Live piece. Being done with my second hero painting, I may soon be asking seasoned veterans like yourself for commission advice.
  8. He really did 'fall into place'. You really caught a cool attitude on his face - very nice work.

Someone say guitar?? And that gives me an idea....you wanna do a collab commish with a rock band??

    [/ QUOTE ]

lol I would love that brother!

    [/ QUOTE ]

So let me get this straight. Rox is screaming "Let there be Roooock!" to the raving fans while TA (or AoT) is doing the Angus shuffle with the Nemisis Staff six string... who's on drums? What's on second... my brain is melting...

Small update on the painting: Rox's rocks are now a few shades lighter. The flat panel I painted with is way brighter than your average monitor. Sorry I should have noticed that sooner.
  10. Thanks Kilo, NPG and Billz.

Over lunch I lightened the Rocks and costume, so check back after it's posted tonight. DA is blocked here at work, in case anyone wonders why I've not responded to the comments there. Over breakfast I was floored to see so much activity, but had time for only one response
  11. Wow!

I hadn't seen the Sparky misadventures, but these are some very cool concept characters... Nearsighted & BBQ Chicken are among the funniest CoH ideas I've seen, and rendered to make them even cooler. Looks like I have some reading ahead of me

You've done it again DarkJedi, every time you post something new I expect to be more wowed than the last time. 90% of the time I am, but this one will be hard to beat. Chicken is my favorite here.

Gratz to Sparky on this fabulous commission, and to Douglas on a job well done.

Oh my... now I need to leave work early to see this (DA is blocked by the evil IT empire). I read #1 & #2 last night and laughed out loud. Grave Enigma as a nut? Whoot!

    You do great work LJ.

    Its a amazing gift.
Wonderfull scene and the picture is really great. Please make more CoX art for us to enjoy

Thank you all for the kind words; it's amazing how supportive the Fan Art community is (in contrast to every other forum). I may do more hero art soon, but first need to take care of some WIPs that have sat for years. Once I'm up to speed, I may study the whole commission process too.

Wow Rox. My painting as an avatar - I'm flattered. I didn't realize how dark this ended up until I posted it, and viewed it on other computers. It seems some equalizing of the foreground is in order.
  14. Thanks Doc_Boy. Rox went allot smoother than my first fan art: Katfood
  15. Thank you Roxstar for the most awesome Stone/Stone Tanker guide in the community. Bill-Dozer never missed a beat using your solid advice, and now it's time to give back. I give you Roxstar - Live, holding thousands of screaming fans' agro.

Also, I was wondering where I could get some better art paper. You know, the kind professionals use. This copy paper isn't cutting it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I suggest Jerry's Artarama for any on-line purchases. Back in my past life of airbrushing I found Jerry's prices 50%-70% below any Michaels stickers. ASW Express has slightly better prices but had me on (long) back orders about half the time. It's been allot of years since ordering from these folks, but that's the best I can offer for now.

Get yourself some pads of heavy paper, watercolor paper, or bristol board. If you want to spring for illustration board it will take a real beating, and allow you to paint over any work. Another key element would be a good set of pencils or pens. If you're placing an order anyway you might check the prices.

The drawing you have going is looking great by the way. I really like the detail on his forarms and staff. What would TA be without his uber staff?
  20. I don't have any screenie links available at the moment, and I know your quota is met regardless, but....

Those that seek to enter must answer me these questions three, else they'll not get any art for free:
    1. WHAT is your name? Mark
    2. WHAT is your quest? to mention the best Jethro Tull song nobody's heard of
    3. WHAT is your favorite Jethro Tull song? Farm on the Freeway
