  1. Thanks I will look at this tonight and post my current build for comment, as well.

    New Merit System

    cool thanks.

so basically 1 morality mission as hero/villain is worth about 50 regular merits, but you get 1 A-merit

1 morality mission as rogue/vigilante nets you 60 regular merits

How does 3-boxing make them more efficient? Does every toon get credit for the morality mission, even if they're not the mission holder?

    New Merit System

Can someone direct me to a post that describes the new merit system, and gives some indication of prices / costs?

I see a lot of people referring to how it has made getting rare recipes a lot easier, but I can't find the description to it amongst all the GR-related posts.

    Thx

So, my advice: don't abandon the fighting pool, skip Weave.
Yeh, I agree with Fury. I've always thought having Tough for the +Res (even 15%-17%) is added protection on an /SR that's helpful. Though I've never really done the math -- e.g., getting hit for 83 instead of 100 may not make that much of a difference in the long run. But if it leaves me with just enough health that I don't die and I can hit a green or Aid Self, it's prob worth it.

I try to skip Weave though.
  7. Can you explain the "new merits" thing -- I keep seeing people talking about this, but haven't seen the patch note or description to understand how it makes merits / recipes that much cheaper or easier to get. Thx.
  8. Thanks for the feedback guys.

Red, would you mind posting your build? I had capped my Huntsman to Ranged before the BoTZ nerf but I'd have to rebuild him a bit now, and gettin capped melee def would be interesting.

    Thx.
  9. The sound of crickets proves this is a combo nobody but me plays

the nice thing is, they really did buff WM and the rularuu hammer is really cool
  10. Out of curiosity, has anyone compared the damage of a huntsman build @ 50 to a comparable blaster build @ 50?

I've always liked the mez protec and pets on my huntsman build. Just not sure how he compares side-by-side for dmg against blaster builds. My guess is less than my Fire/MM but more than, say, AR/DP/other?
  11. Everytime I think about builds like this -- and I have a lot lately -- I keep thinking that the situations I really want Shadowmeld in (e.g., ITFs), the lack of DDR would allow Romans to shred me even when softcapped to start.

    *shrug*
  12. Has anyone ever actually quantified if your reward drops are better on +1/+2/+3/+4 spawns vs. +0? And what the relative extra time-to-kill does to your drop rate?

I thought it used to be only anecdotal that higher +mob level ranks (+2/+3 etc) gave better drops than +0.
  13. Here's my LIVE WM/SR build. I just rebuilt him a bit to fit in the Superior Conditioning from the ported scrapper APPs and it seems to have done the trick on endo usage.

Ideally I would put 5 hecatombs in Pulverize ... slotted the crushing impacts for now while I kit out a claws/SR brute. Probably will have enough left over to put the hecatombs here though. The 6th slot is going to be a dmg proc, probably the taunt chance-for-psi dmg.

I like the chaining AOEs between Whirling Mace, Crowd Control, and Shatter ... with big groups around, Shatter definitely hits 2-3 targets constantly.

The other cool thing about this build is reaching the soft-cap w/o having to take Weave or slot the PVP IO

  14. Is it ok to have FU recharging in 3.94? When I add up the cast times of Slash - Focus - Swipe it seems that they are shorter than 3.94. Maybe I'm not accounting for Aracnatime?

That said, trying to softcap without Weave? Sounds like a royal pain to me.
Yeh, it can be done though. Depends on ability to slot set bonuses. Claws may be borked in this regard. Here's my LIVE build War Mace / SR Brute, for instance, soft-capped w/o weave.

This toon has 95% capped DDR, btw. And still gets hit a reasonable amount when among big groups of Romans or even regular mobs. Which is why I left Aid Self in. I'm toying with dropping it for Phys Perfection but not sure extra regen is enough.

  18. Messing around with my fairly purpled Claws/Regen 50, trying to figure out how to perma shadow meld.

Any help / thoughts? This is what i have so far (below). Issue is 10 sec downtime in Meld, plus only 38% def (not soft-capped) when it's up.

Had been wondering about this. Have a Fire/SD tank that's pretty fast with plenty of AOE against +0/+1s. Any suggestions on PI farm mishes?
  20. It's pretty hard to come up with a soft-cap build that does not include Weave, fits in physical perfection, has enough recharge to run FU-Slash-Focus-Swipe (or whatever Bill's #1 chain is), and still fits in some reasonable purples. Driving me nuts. That's w/o cramming Gaussians into FU.

I don't think Bill ever posted / posts his Claws/SR build(s). And if he did it was a long time ago and before many IO changes

So I don't think I can help you there.
Please post your $6B build -- I need some suggestions.
  23. Hello Scrapperdom!

I am trying to decide on my GR toon, to run through Prateoria and beyond.

I am debating between Claws/SR and Claws/WP ... (I may, heresy, make the toon a brute too ... hmmm)....

Anyway, I haven't played for quite some time so my build-fu is a bit out of date. My Market accounts, however are quite stocked.

So I could use some builds/advice on how to best trick out either option, and what people's sense is about which is better.

Do I try to soft-cap (S/L and maybe E/N) a Claws/WP knowing it will be tough against most content but find Def-Debuffers tough (e.g,. no standing in packs of Romans)?

Or do I go tried-and-true with Claws/SR but how can I take full advance of new APP combos and purple sets?

    Thanks for your help!!
