  2. Invuln can be really tough late game if built right. Credit to BassAckwarsd (DM/Inv godly build) and Iggy for help with this one.

    Soft-cap with 1 foe in range of Invinc to S/L/E/N. Running ST chain of 193-195 dps pre incarnate abilities: Incin - Gloom - Cremate - FS [repeat]

    Can take a Nova Fist to the face from BABS in Lambda and keep standing.

    Solid example of late-game Invuln, though SD is way way easier to soft-cap and gets many more cool tools (more DDR, more +Dmg).

    DP/what?

    I like a DP/Dark corr, actually. Easy to soft-cap to S/L/E/N and lots of tools to support DP.

    Plus you can take the Void incarnate AOE power that is T3 with a chance to crit on everything -- bullet rain, Void, HOB. Boom!
  4. I forget whose build this was based on. I recently switched from Body to Fire Epic. Yes, it burns end and you lose the end tools of Body. But honestly Shield Charge + DT + Fireball is awesome. Learn to carry blues and team a lot (for +end buffs). I really felt lacking in AOE before the change, and that was after running the Cim wall for a while using DT + Shield Charge.

    I won't say MA/SD hits harder than DM/SD (dps-wise), but it seems pretty solid. I just wish the animations were better (even the alternates).

    A couple issues ago they changed how Fury works. The net net as I understand it is that it's harder to reach >70%-75% fury now, but Fury is easier to maintain (decays slower).

    This brought Brute's damage output (esp. solo) down relative to pre "nerf" and put a couple Brute sets under Scrapper sets for dps (at least single-target). Some suspicious among us would say that the devs did this in response to BillZBubba's many threads showing Brute dmg > Scraper dmg at full fury for several common sets. But that's just supposition

    Because of the way several sets buff base damage, with sort of a lower achievable Fury cap, Brute versions of these sets now underperform Scrapper versions for dps (again, mainly ST dps I think). For example, Follow Up in claws buffs Brute dmg less than scrapper dmg, and AAO in Sheilds has the same issue. Without a higher achievable (solo) Fury cap, this is lowering Brute dps relative to before the Fury change.

    At least that's how I understand it. I could be wrong. But my tricked out Claws/SR brute gets notably lower pylon dps running the top chain of FU-Focus-Slash.
  9. Not sure if you board searched but there have been a number of Fire/MM threads and builds with >45% softcap S/L and good numbers.

    If "Fire/MM" borks the search results, try 2 powers semi unique to the sets like a search for "fireball psychic"

  12. you get better Claws numbers on a scrapper due to Follow Up buffing better (higher base damage) and the nerf to Fury

    more offense > go scrapper
    more defense > go brute (higher HP helps WP)

    my Claws/SR Brute sadly does worse pylon times than the scrapper equivalents

    Arch/EM

    Alternative is to soft-cap Smash/Lethal instead of ranged. Really depends on your play style. Arch/EM otherwise should build for recharge to get ROA up as much as possible. I recently posted a AR/EM build (click my name for recent posts) that easy can be changed to Arch/EM.

    Build-up + AIM + ROA + Explosive Arrow = dead mobs.

    Soft-cap to S/L with Full Auto up every 18 secs. This build sort of assumes you'll take Clarion for perma-mez protect. I have another one I'll try to post that works in Acro earlier and gives up Power Boost (because I couldn't really see what it was boosting much to justify the power pick).

    And here's the other version. This one works in Acro for more mez protect without relying on Clarion (I know Acro sucks but it basically lets you dodge 1 mez). And I pulled out 1 set of Kinetic Combat to save on costs. This is the one I'm working towards right now. The biggest problems here may be the underslotting of Energy Punch and Bonesmasher.

    I guess the last thing I'd say is that AR/EM is never really going to outperform a strong Huntsman (SOA) build -- you pick up Full Auto, some burst capability, and some gems like Boost Range, but at the expense of mez protect, debuffs, resistance, and the other tools of a Huntsman. And yes AR/ gets better gun models But check out the SOA boards for some huntsman tips.

  19. I think what kills Bane for me is that Shatter is a single-target attack, whereas on the Brute it can reliably hit 3+ targets once you learn to line it up properly. So on the Brute you are going to have a chainable AOE run of Crowd Control - Whirling Mace - Shatter. I'd probably give the nod to Banes in ST for the reasons you mention. But these days I'm more likely to run Brutes on teams where AOE is more helpful (and can maximize AAO's +dmg).

    It's kind of a toss-up. But then I'd imagine that Mace/SD is much more fun to play ... I mean, hey, you can make a guy who looks like a Roadworker (I did) and give him the Pipewrench and Sewer Lid. How is that not awesome?!!

    If they ever port Mace to scrappers, this becomes a non-issue: go scrapper.

    Absolutely. You are 100% correct. I only posted it to provide some thoughts on the AR/EM topic that might be of use to others who see the title. My build would be useless in PVP

    I went with Rebirth actually for Destiny -- my guy is soft-capped to S/L/E/N so it felt like it would help more. Agree on Reactive. I went Musculature actually for alpha.

  23. Here's my current Huntsman/Crab build ... I went crab tree based on Linea's "hovertank" build. Soft-capped to all positionals, 40%-50% resists to S/L/E/N/F/C. Perma serum (+HP). Dual assault. Spiderlings & the two disruptors. Running musculature I think plus Rebirth. Seems to have a decent single-target chain in SingleShot-Burst-Bayonet.

    Loses out on Build-Up so spike damage is a bit lower. Also I need to figure out how to slot the Lady Grey Neg Dmg proc into Burst and Single Shot.
