There's the alpha slot. Then there's Destiny slot (Ageless).

But honestly if you have a secondary with Endo Management tools (e.g., Dark Consumption) and you're willing to carry blues, you can solo effectively. On teams you probably have someone with an endo boost.

Self-sustaining endurance is really only an issue under hardcore pylon/AV rules. Otherwise craft Recovery Serums or pop open the /auctionhouse to bid on blues.

There is a definite AOE factor in the proc calcs. Doms slotting the Dom proc into the AOE immobs (big area, plus very fast recharge) are seeing the worst proc chances -- which go up remarkedly when the proc is re-slotted into the ST hold (which has a relatively long recharge).
  3. So I've nearly convinced myself that, with the Brute ATO proc now returning Brutes to former pre-Fury nerf glory, that my Staff toon should be a Brute. Preferably running a high dps, high recharge chain (probably using Spiritual or one of the other +rchrg alphas), and using the Endo form for Staff to manage the endo drain. And maybe even Staff/ELA.

Having said that, i don't have enough experience on Test to think about attack chains yet. Does anyone? The stalker boards are suggesting a 4 attack chain, but it incorporates Assassin's Strike. The question for Brutes will have a different answer.

Any thoughts? I have heard Serpent's Reach actually has pretty good DPA. The animation time for Sky Splitter on the other hand looks long and painful.
  4. At non crazy levels of recharge I am doing for StJ what I posted in the Pylon thread: AS-CS (to open) SB-HB-SC-SB-AS-CU (repeat)

Ricodah has a higher recharge StJ chain on his /SR

I am particularly interested in the pros and cons of the two on a couple of different scrapper types that don't necessariy NEED the defense of shadow Meld but may not have a lot of AOE. so:

    Invulns

    Will powers

    Super Reflexes

How about these guys when paired with primaries that are mainly ST?

For example, I have a DM/Invuln with fire mastery and Fireball has completely changed my ofensive attack style. Would it be worth it to trade fire balst and firelball and char off form something like Moonbeam, Shadow meld, and dark blast (or the GW hold)?

Thanks for any thoughts or examples of what any of you guys may have done with these..
If you are running a soft-capped scrap (~45% or so), and you intend to do a lot of incarnate content where you might not depend on team +def buffs (like say SLAMs in the warehouse, or the new DA content), you should consider Shadow Meld as a way to i-softcap (i-cap) yourself every 15 seconds (more or less).

    Otherwise, keep the greater AOE.

FYI I am capping my HP with perma Hoarfrost in i22. With Icy Bastion up a ton, it's huge for survivability. I think i22 helped IA a ton.

If you make the IA colors purple/purple you *barely* see the big blocky ice stuff.

Granite Agent and I were tossing Ice builds back and forth awhile back. With the ATO set, it is not difficult to get softcap def in S/L/E/N.

Toss .... The ATO set is 6-slotted into AS.

Wow, totally called it. So glad I already had it in a ST attack I use twice per attack chain.

    From today's patch:

Brute's Fury: +Recharge/+Chance for +Fury - Fixed a bug that granted +Fury per target hit instead of per activation of the power.

Ah crap: does the game consider Seismic Smash a "control" power because of the hold?? That is lame. It would explain why you can slot it there.

I am left on Plant/Fire only able to slot it into the Control set powers. All are AOE except Creepers (useless for this proc) and Strangler (and I don't use ST hold much). So having it slotted in Roots is getting the proc nerfed by their new AOE proc code, and I'm not seeing nearly the procs you are. The proc may not be as OP as you think.
  12. Are we sure you can't stack creepers?

I have the Dom proc in Roots and I don't see it proccing every time I use Roots. Where do you have it slotted? I know they nerfed the AOE-powers-have-more-chances-to-proc thing, so perhaps Roots is a big fail for it.

I couldn't find a control power I used more often except maybe Seeds.

Chances are it won't proc as much as it would in Footstomp because it hits multiple villains within a mob therefor increasing the chance to proc.

    Yes?
Except they specifically changed this in the other ATO procs. There were a bunch of Dev threads explaining they lowered the chance to proc in AOE / multitarget attacks, so that overall the proc still just procs as much as if you had it in an ST attack (the procs-per-minute mechanic). assuming equal use. And then they explained that all store-bought IO procs (Paragon Market) work this way, vs the in-game procs (FF +rchrg, dmg procs from in-game sets).

My Axe could land a critical for 7 times in a row. I think this is what some people are seeing.

It is really odd. It is definitely bugged and I think it has a lot to do with the proc duration because with high recharge, you could be stacking more than one proc and that's where confusion happens IMO.

Either way, I can get a more reliable Critical by putting the proc in Eagle Claw than in A-strike and I don't know why. A great way to prove that it's bugged is to simply use Eagle Claw + Axe and since I have good recharge in Eagle Claw, it comes up before the 10s duration expires which triggers another proc. If I only do Eagle + Axe and do nothing and wait for Eagle to come back, the next Axe is not a critical.

It seems to all pointing to the stacking proc that is causing the bug IMO.
This is good testing and on par with what I was seeing. There is a stacking/duration bug I beleive. I suggested to Synapse that he lower the proc duration to 5 seconds, to try to overcome this issue. Please PM him with your additional findings or direct him to this thread, so he sees what is happening.

    38%ish Melee--(Bolstered by 11% per Guarded spin)

2/3rds the radius for 2/3rds the damage of fireball?
Yeah I am taking fireball. Its a flaming shuriken I guess.

I'm wondering if it is because there is a timer on side-switching that even the tokens follow. That is, I tried to use to token to close to when I had turned to Villain using tips.
  21. So today I rounded out my trip to Villain via Tips. And once I did the PPP arc to claim Shadow Meld, I figured, hey, let's use a shiny new Alignment Token to pop back blueside.

Except it is not working. Every time I try to claim it I get some error message about how I must be lvl 20, not on a TF, and not in oro or some other spot to use it. All conditions I meet.

Is there a cooldown period on side-switching, via tips or tokens?

I PM'd Synapse to explain the issues people are reporting here, and my own findings from some pylon runs, but he hasn't responded.

Here are two combat logs from my Pylon runs. These were without Chilling Embrace. Typically ever Crushing Uppercut or other attack after an AS should have a crit, due to the hidden proc, but you can see it's not the case.

I don't know if it's Reactive interface damage interfering with the proc. Or maybe it's the proc supressing itself within some time period (10 secs?).

    https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...GDBRKQx08/edit

    https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...yzfZ1_eng/edit

yea, not seeing a problem here.
Back in the day my Claws/SR brute -- using a build tweaked by Iggy and others -- was still underperforming Claws/SR scrappers in the Pylon thread. I wonder if the Brute IO would change it.

Here's the build. I'd probably 5-slot the Brute set including the proc into Slash, leaving the -RES proc in place. Chain is FU-Focus-Slash (repeat).
