  1. A belated (stupid account problems ), but still warm welcome to Cricket!
  2. Sadly, you're not the first. Every now and then during beta, a similar thread (one not done in jest) would pop up about how Brutes were "teh Uberz", how they were totally, absolutely, and completely unbalanced, how they were game-breaking, and that they were baby-killers to boot. Almost always, those responsible for such threads had either never played a Brute themselves, or had at best only played them at low levels where Fury can make it seem like they're too powerful.

    Oh, and IBTL!!!!!!!!!11111111

The title of this thread and what you wrote above have nothing to do with each other. From the looks of it (and I may be wrong), you want us to tell you why we chose what we did in order to possibly determine the "best" Brute combination. From my beta experience, I can honestly say that there is no one best combo, although it looks like DM/FA might become a flavor of the month due to having a couple of heals and End restores. but trust me, all the powersets work well together when you find the specific synergy between primary and secondary.

That being said, my main Brute ultimately ended up being EM/FA. This was purely for concept purpose, as I envisioned him to be this massive, glowing juggernaut-in-flames that would rocket towards his foes like some sort of infernal locomotive. Appropriately, he also had Super Speed and was named Helldozer, which I adopted as both my CoV beta board moniker and now my CoH board moniker.
