It still hasn't been denied that I16 is the synchronization patch for Going Rogue.
[/ QUOTE ]
It hasn't?
[/ QUOTE ]
Not when BAB says it.
He may be a good Dev (in fact I know he is) but basically nothing he says in this forum about things happening in the future can ever be completely trusted 100%. He has a bad habit of having "limited" credibility in that area whether on purpose or not. Ironically if he's telling the truth here he's "embellished" other statements so much it's hard to take him at face value anymore. *shrugs*
[/ QUOTE ]
Harrumph!
[/ QUOTE ]
Don't worry about it, BABs. Lothic has the tendency to not believe any dev about anything they say since the very fact that they are devs makes them untrustworthy liars. -
As the thread title asks, how viable would a Fire/EM Blapper (not really a true Blapper, since I'll be using both my primary and secondary) be with both Rain of Fire and Fire Breath missing? I have Fire Breath in my current build, and it just feels way too slow for me, especially considering it's a cone. I know that Fire is touted as a great AoE set, but since I'd be in and out of melee, would my effectiveness really be that severely reduced if I were to respec out of Fire Breath?

me too (+1)
'cause we *really* needed another state of the game thread about AE, huh?

Now, going in the opposite direction: Castle didn't work on the game until I6 (if I remember correctly) and BABs didn't come on board until I7.
[/ QUOTE ]
If you check the wiki, you'll see that Castle came on board in late 2004. No details for BaB, though.
[/ QUOTE ]
If the post still exists, Castle mentioned that he came in around I6 when talking about the changes to Energy Melee. BABs' start date was said by the man himself during a conversation in the Beta Testers global channel during the I15 beta. -
[ QUOTE ]
Yes I was in SG mode when the glitch happened.
[/ QUOTE ]
Okay, then it's the same bug that Castle saw when the booster was up for testing the first time. It happened to a player, the devs copied his corrupted character's data to a local drive at Paragon Studios, and I can only assume that they've been working on it since. It only affects players in SG mode, and can be corrected by logging. -
[ QUOTE ]
My typical method of starting a new Hero is to just street-sweep until 5, at which point a whole slew of stuff opens up. Since many options become available at 5, perhaps we could make 1-5 the "Training" bracket. No AE, only the standard contacts. After you hit 5, a message pops up describing the options avialable, inluding Contacts, Radio, Hazard Zones, and AE. At level 10, another popup appears to inform you of Positron's TF and the TF system (This should be n place anyways, frankly).
Of course, a similar thing would happen for Villains.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is a really good idea, in my humble opinion. It makes new players experience a little bit of the dev-created content (unless they street sweep or run sewer teams, but even those tasks help new players learn some of the ropes), and provides them with a wealth of information in a fashion that they can't ignore, unlike the items that show up when they talk to a trainer. And the intro to the TF system would come in handy as well. -

Statesman and Positron started this game together, if I recall correctly.
[/ QUOTE ]
You don't. As the post above me states, Posi wasn't one of the founders. He was on pretty early on, though, but just as a designer. I remember him talking someplace about the original Winter event and making some calls when he saw how players were PLing off Winter Lords.
Now, going in the opposite direction: Castle didn't work on the game until I6 (if I remember correctly) and BABs didn't come on board until I7. -

Appears to be a problem switching from Female to Huge body type on occasions.
Whenever you switch from female to huge, the proportions go all wrong and completely messed up.
When going back into the tailor to fix it appears as they the tailor still thinks it's female, infact the body type remains female but inherets the 'huge' proportions on the chest, arms and upper legs but retains the female face, boots and keeps the last costume, outfit is completely glitched out.
Logged out and logged back in again, costume was back to it's original state (female with no glitches) and could be switched to huge without problems.
[/ QUOTE ]
Doc, were you in SG mode when you glitched? -

Goliath, I *must* know how you get the custom font on your character name display. Does it also work for other UI elements?
[/ QUOTE ]
I use TweakCoH. There are separate settings for overhead text and GUI text. You've gotta play around with the font sizes a bit in some cases to get it looking just right, though. As for the overhead font itself, it's called Red Circle. I think it's included in the fansite kits; I downloaded it from a font site.
And regarding TweakCoH: it's a great program to have even if you don't intend to mess with the fonts. It enables you to change all the in-game display, graphics, and audio settings for both the live and test client while out of game; run various network diagnostics; and has some demo tools. -

Maybe I'm blind, but is the chat bug fixed in either build?

Not unless it didn't make it into the patch notes.
*shrug* Might be harder to fix than anyone realizes. -

I'm not sure if its been mentioned yet, but there's an issue with Rikti drones exploding repeatedly after death. This was occuring last night for all members of my team both in RWZ, and in the door missions we were running..

Council Zenith Hoverbot's do it to.

Check out the first patch note listed on the first page of this thread. -

Yeah, no. The "800lbs gorilla" forums has tons of dev and community rep

When you say that, do you mean that actual developers post and interact with the community, or that developer representatives post and interact with the community? -

But as far as speed runs go, i can't imagine this being too long of a TF.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree 100% with you on this.
Look at the facts from my run: We really didn't skip/ghost/or speed through anything; we lost time explaining the mechanics of the final fight; we couldn't use the Mastermind temp power to keep Reichsman from using Unbreakable; we had no Shivans and/or Nukes to further speed up the chipping away of Reichsman's 226,000 HP; and we wasted some time here and there with bio breaks, general AFKs, and discussion before or after a mission.
With an experienced team and a functioning MM temp power, this really could be a short SF, albeit a short SF which still requires some skill and coordination to pull off. -

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to let everyone know that we have been and are aware that the Character Copy Tool is down. We are working to get this taken care of as quickly as possible.
Thank you for your continued support.
[/ QUOTE ]
Tremendous. Thanks Niviene -
I know we've had a 32-minute Khan TF, but I'm curious as to what sort of numbers people are putting up for the Barracuda SF. I realize that it's still broken due to the Power of Black Scorpion not having any effect on Reichsman, but that doesn't mean we should disqualify the runs that are happening now.
I'll start: Last week, I was on a team that completed it in 1:34:07. This includes taking time before fighting Ghost Widow to explain the fight with Reichsman, the temp powers, the 5th ambushes, etc. While we did have a Rad/Kin on our team, we used no nukes or Shivans that I'm aware of. We also suffered very little in the way of player deaths. -

I think he means that when you use the copy tool link its spits ya to the normal user/pass web page and then wehn you hit submit all it does it tell you you are logged in. No server select, no toon select.. no nothing after that. Please fix this
[/ QUOTE ]
Thank you for the translation. Not that I needed it, seeing as I am perfectly capable of communicating in the english language. -
The character copy tool is completely down as well (as in, it no longer exists). Part of the plan, or did it go boom?

Dont forget, every AE building has a inspiration vendor as well.
[/ QUOTE ]
This.
Between contacts, AE buildings, and the market, it's ridiculously easy to go and buy a few Break Frees for a measly 50 inf each. And if you're going to be facing enemies capable of mezzing you and you have no inherent protection against said mezzes, it's very foolish of you to not grab some Break Frees.
Developer time and resources should not go into coming up with code and animations for an entirely new pool of powers that can be replaced by one inspiration. -

Is there some sort of MMO law that says a witch can't trade her broomstick for a boomstick? -

Yeah, I know about those. I just want them like the ones that you can just click on in game already. You know, the emote icon down next to chat? Click on that and have them all come up...All of them, not just what is there already.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't really have time right now to go through the quickchat menu and correlate it with our list of emotes to see what's missing. I also can't add any emote that's restricted by a badge, vet reward, invention, or booster pack.
But if someone would like to give me a list of emotes that everyone can use but aren't in the quickchat menu right now...I'll add them in.
[/ QUOTE ]
Is is possible to add a "restricted" section in the quickmenu with greyed out selections (White if unlocked)?
[/ QUOTE ]
They'd have to add a bit of functionality to the quickchat menu in order to accomplish that, considering that it can be edited with notepad. I actually do have every emote (barring the boombox emotes) listed on my quickchat menu, even unlockable ones.
Here's a guide on editing Quickchat. It's easy once you get the hang of it. -
