*Rubs hands together*
*Clears throat*
It looks like he's ... moving on up to that de-luxe apartment in the sky? Eh? EH?
Oh, like you weren't thinking it too.
Seriously though, I LOVED The Jeffersons. Funny and ground-breaking. And of course, an awesome theme song. I raise my glass to you, Sherman Hemsley! -
Quote:And that's not a bad thing, in my opinion. While I usually loathe when other people say this sort of thing, the old-style Tier 9 armors in effect punish players for using them. Instead of being useful abilities to have when you really need them, they're essentially big ol' self-destruct buttons - some far moreso than others - that, depending upon the specific situation, have players sweating bullets hoping they can overcome what they need to before the timer runs out.Yeah, all of this. Cashless T9s would need to be rebalanced. I would expect a fixed recharge at the very least if they did remove/lessen the crashes.
They come from the same line of thought that decided the original Defiance inherent was a good idea -- that you MUST trade power for survivability in some fashion, and that you can only go big in either direction. As someone who started off in CoH as a Tanker during the beta and pretty much stuck to that AT until Brutes and eventually VEATs were introduced, I'd much rather see all the tier 9 armors be reworked to function more like Strength of Will. -
Quote:Nope. The game was released in April of 2004. Cryptic Studios was founded in 2000, so the engine (the first iteration of it, at least) was created not too long afterward. And in relation to WoW: CoH and WoW ran the convention/expo circuit together in 2003, and were neighbors at I think E3 2003. CoH launched a few months before WoW.
Re: Old Game Engine
The game engine was designed in around 2004.
Of course, this furthers your point. -
I just want one thing, Dink.
I want a giant hammer for Titan Weapons.
I don't want it to be rocket-powered. I don't want it to be laser-guided. I don't want it to be made of flesh and bone. I don't want a giant eyeball in it (although I don't object to more Rularuu weapons in general). I just want a giant hammer. It can be a big, plain sledgehammer or maul. It can be a fancy warhammer. But I just want a giant hammer for Titan Weapons. It can look like a Carnie Strongman mallet or a Celestial Armor mace or anything between. But it needs to be a giant hammer.
Please? -
CAN I MAKE BILE SPRAY LOOK LIKE THIS?
... Or at least get a "smooth" version to go with the "chunky" version? plzthx -
Add me to those who didn't get a code.

Note, however, that "once-a-month" doesn't necessarily mean "once every 30 days".
-
For what it's worth, I'm only familiar with the image as a reaction image/meme. Based on your response, though, I don't think I wanna know where it's from.

I friggin' swear, there are times I really wish that "nerf" had never become part of the collective gamer vocabulary. And there are other times I wish that the original meaning of the term hadn't been so completely devalued as to lose all meaning. Now any time that anything is balanced downward in the slightest, it's always "THEY NERFED X! THEY NERFED X!".
Something obscenely overpowered could be made just slightly overpowered and people would cry "NERF!" despite it still being overpowered. -
Quote:I, for one, don't use Facebook because I have no real need for it. But I don't seem to have the same ... vitriol for it as you for some reason do. That's what I don't understand: the venom dripping from some people's teeth when the subject of social media is brought up.Maybe because we don't feel like handing over the details of our personal lives to some company that's just gonna sell all that data to advertisers so they can spam us more?
Maybe because they promote sharing information that has no business ending up on the internet at all?
Maybe because every time you turn around, there's another story in the news about some social media site (usually Putzbook) mishandling personal data?
Is it becoming any clearer? -

Quote:1) some people want everything RIGHT HERE. RIGHT NOW.
And here I thought that the Community would be excited about getting news about upcoming changes prior to the actual announcement.
2) Some people actively avoid social media, despite the fact that it's fairly well-ingrained into the current fabric of the internet. In fact, some people actively despise social media; I cannot wrap my head around that one. -

Right now, I'm starting more characters off as heroes because their concepts require them to be heroes. But honestly, I prefer the new villain starting content to the new hero starting content. I actually prefer Praetoria to both, but as others have said, the content there is rather less forgiving to certain powerset combinations.
-
I just watched that part of the recorded coffee talk from last week. Absolutely NO mention of a specific date was given. All that was said is that changes to pool powers is something that will be discussed "in the coming weeks" (to quote Zwil), as in at some point during the summer.
-
Possible, but not necessarily so.
Remember that Praetoria isn't in a mirror universe, but an alternate universe. That might be Flambeaux. That might not be Flambeaux. Flambeaux might never have existed on Praetorian Earth. -
An Emp/Water Defender named Lemon Aid!
While the palette WOULD allow me to create a hero who got their powers after falling into a vat of radioactive cola, the default coloration is so pretty that I really don't see myself customizing it any. -
Quote:So ... you based your entire opinion on a powerset after reaching a level that takes like 30 minutes of play at most to reach?Melee: Titan Weapons ((I only played to level 4 but you swing so freaky SLOW))
Of course, I'm going to have to disagree with you. I will grant you that TW is both a very late-blooming set (until you have 5 or 6 attacks so you can take full advantage of Momentum) and can be rough on End. But it's by no means THE WORST melee set in the game. Plus, I think it's fun. That might not matter to min/maxers, but it matters to me. -
I'd like to know as well. Since, y'know, Synapse has explicitly said that they don't design powersets to be sold in the Paragon Market to be any more powerful than powersets added to the game for free.
Unless Tiger_Lady also think that the developers would intentionally mislead the players in such a manner ...
