True... but I received no tickets. I realize now that you can get a good score without getting tickets but at the time it happened I didn't know that so "apparently" it was a 1 or 2 star vote.
-
My controller puts interrupts in her Recall Friend. She's usually first to the mission door and if it's hot I want to be sure I can recall the scrapper as soon as possible.
-
I didn't say 4 stars was bad. I said it made me sad and disappointed to have my arc with 49 votes and 5 stars drop down to 4 on the 50th vote that was apparently a 1 or 2-star vote. It took my arc from page 1 to page 12.
I think 4 stars is a fine score, it was just an emotional response i.e. the blues. -
I could have sworn I used to teleport yellow lieutenants all the time. I thought orange was the limit. *shrugs*
I slotted mine with 1 range and 1 accuracy and 1 recharge. If I respec'd today I'd drop the recharge because I don't use it that often anymore but back in the early levels it was nice so that if I missed I didn't have to wait long to try again.
It's a great power for thinning big herds or getting an enemy out of a stuck area where no one can hit it or if you just don't want to climb up there and get him. -

Agreed. An easier tweak would be to use the current 5 stars and use Mode instead of Mean. (Mode is "what ranking got the most votes", Mean is arithmetic average.) But this really is a far batter solution, nice and clean.

Yes! If they want to stick with stars I want to be able to sort it by this method. -
Deathsurge was cool.
So was the Kraken although my second attempt wasn't nearly as successful.
Those are the only two I've been a part of and beaten. We tried to take Babbage down during a Synapse but we just didn't have what it takes. After several minutes of fighting and neither side being hurt we gave it up as boring. -
I had heard that. I'll be interested to see how much smaller my current 97% full arc will be... will I be able to put the 3 custom critters I cut out back in?
We'll see.
I still want more space too -

Why on earth should I pay for more slots when I don't even have the available memory to make my own completely customized enemy group?
[/ QUOTE ]
This. Until they make the maximum arc size bigger I am not really interested in more slots. I'll just use my 3rd slot as a temporary/rotating story for friends and assume I'll never have more than 2 put up for general consumption.
I hear that arcs are more efficient in i15. That works too but no matter how you slice it 100k is small even by IBM XT PC game standards back when I felt 20 meg would last me forever. -
Agreed, once inducted (whatever the method) it should be more or less locked in.

I know this has been discussed but has anyone found a medium office where things set in the back actually spawn on the top floor while things spawned in other places are before it?
I've tried about a dozen different small & medium office layouts in a mission with only two goals - boss in middle, collection in back. 80% of the time when I go in the collection is either on the first floor well before the boss or it is on the second floor within a few feet of the boos.
The latter isn't too bad but the former won't work at all for my story. I even tried putting my boss in front and tried switching which was physically first in the list. Is it too much to ask that in a 3 story office that front means 1st floor, middle means 2nd floor, and back means 3rd floor? I mean seriously! This is driving me crazy.
Tell me i15 is helping to address this... please! -
I've been advocating a thumbs up/down system for a while. This works for me and it sounds like a good way to handle HoF too.
I'm wondering if there should be both - stars & thumbs with stars relagated to just being a search function or possibly part of the HoF calculation (80% yes's and a rating of at least 3.5 or something). -
I assume it is for disk space thing or a limitation of whatever database they are using to store the arcs. There is more overhead to a single arc than the size of the arc itself.
Obviously I don't know for sure, but considering the 3 arc limit and the size of custom critters, I really wish it was at least doubled. -

I too always suggest blasters for new players, especially in Trial accounts where I know they won't top 14th level.
But... but my claws scrapper has some pretty nifty moves. I love the twirling Get Them All! attack (I forget the name off the top of my head). Then again my very artsy katana scrapper is even cooler... she rocks and Lotus Drops is very neat. -
heh... Shadowguardinal just made 41st last night and is my highest level. I still haven't leveled because I haven't decided if I want my final primary or go for the Epic pool
12 months and counting for my first 50th. -

I appreciate the sentiment of the OP.
I'm not sure all of that is attributable to AE as some people simply refuse to learn if they are new or 2 year vets. But it would be nice if brand new people to the game could be allowed to learn the game from the ground up as opposed to getting PL'd to 50 and then trying to figure out why they really should have taken more primaries on their tank or what a side kick is or means. Plus the whole "what do I do now?" glazed look in their eye that means they'll be canceling their account pretty soon which can't be good for the game as a whole.
The problem of course is, who wants to refuse to play with a new player? They have to learn somehow and if the only team they can find in Atlas is an AE farm team then that's where they are going to go. Moving the farms out of Atlas to King's Row would be a good move for you. KR is close to the Pocket D exit and not far from where a Base portal or Yellow Line would drop you off. If you are farming for tickets & influence (presuming not at very low levels) then anyplace would be good. -
I did too but the summary said 1-54 and sure enough when I tested that mission with my level 24 there were no skulls to be found, only my custom critters. As soon as I added a Skull patrol the mission started exemp'ing me down to 20 (or whatever the Skull max is).
I think there may be a bug involved though. I've seen other people's arcs where they mixed standard with custom and depending on the level range of the standards compared to the level range of the players would either spawn blues and greens or +12 purples so be careful. -

This thread is rated 4 stars, rofl.

ROFL!! That is so funny. -

How do you get your arc found in the first place? I mean, it starts automatically with 0 stars anyway, so how do you get it out there in the first place? Just publish it and hope to god that someone finds is among the hundreds of other arcs out there?
[/ QUOTE ]
When I published my second story it was zero stars but still got played and rated 5 stars within 24 hours. I was shocked. People are looking. Once it got onto the front page it started gaining lots of plays and votes.
Other than getting lucky like that, you can run it with your friends or advertise here on the forum to try and get that first vote. If those votes are kind and get you up on the first page then you should get the majority of your plays until it gets voted downward. That inevitability and the emotions that go with publishing arcs are what this thread is all about. -
During our last Synapse TF, every single one of us DC'd exiting the clockwork King's warehouse.
While it caused some strange things, I think we got our merits... I guess I don't know that for sure but I have more merits than story arcs + Positron would account for. I'm pretty sure I got them.
Drat... now I'm going to have to go double check. lol -
I don't believe this is possible. The normal spawns always show up when the player enters the door.
You can spawn a new objective, including a patrol or ambush, to occur after the initial objective is completed. But you can't fill up an area based on fulfilling a single task. -
[ QUOTE ]
Any enemy over level 10 can drop one. They do not come from anywhere else, you can't buy them with tickets or merits, they don't come as random rolls either.
[/ QUOTE ]
Agreed. I was only providing ancedotal evidence that they can drop from a normal enemy in a normal mission. Unfortunately that is my only experience with respec recipes. I've only ever found the one.
I didn't know you could lose the crafting of the respec if you had a free respec sitting on the character. Boy, that would bite lol. -
Something to try anyway. Thanks.

It spawns for them even if they aren't online at the time. Or at least that's my experience.
I was very surprised Saturday to discover that the MA does the same thing. Two guys had to go and exited without quiting the team. When the two of us asked for and went into the final mission of the arc the spawns were just as big and difficult as they had been when there were four of us.
The only reason we went back in after the first wipe and soldiered on after almost getting wiped again was because the arc had been so good up to that point we wanted to finish it. heh... my dominator had one of those awesome moments when the mastermind died leaving me to face a a big group of +1 and +2 custom mobs while trapped in a dead-end hallway. It was freakin' sweet and how I managed to survive I still don't know.
