This would be my prereq. If I play the first mission and it doesn't tell a story on it's own that's obviously part of a bigger whole, then I probably won't bother with part 2.

I'm assuming you mean arc not mission!

    [/ QUOTE ]

heh... yeah. Thanks for clearing that up. I think it is important that each arc stand on its own while still being part of the bigger whole. Dangling plot lines are fine. Having the feeling that I still don't know what the heck is going on, is not.

Hopefully I got it right that time.

I prefer it if each part of a multi-arc tells its own, semi-closed story (as in has a beginning, middle, and resolution). My "Revenge of Hro'Dtohz" arc, for instance, is part of my larger "This Is War" cycle, but it also tells a stand-alone story. IMO, that should be the standard format for multi-arcs.

<and now I'm going to have to look that arc up... curse you! >
  3. We sprang for the slightly bigger room to allow two locations. We opted for Mercy and Cap because everyone in the group has the Good vs Evil Pocket D teleport power.

Back when we only had 1 location we put in Cap because it goes to so many places. But then, it really isn't a big deal to switch out beacons in a personal SG so you actually have access, with a bit of work, to go anywhere you have a beacon badge for.
  4. Our whole party was doing this all weekend... Mapserve errors and rubberbanding intermittently all evening and it didn't matter if we were in a zone or in an instanced mission.

It was especially bad Friday night and in almost every big battle in a 4-person AE team. But it was almost as bad on a 4-person team running Striga missions last night.

This was all on Justice. The little bit I played on Protector I was fine except for some rubberbanding in Atlas but I've come to expect that.
  5. Captives indoors run to the door so fast their rescue dialog chat bubble is usually across the room or way down the hall by the time they speak it.

Tip: Always give them a rescue animation so they'll stand in place while they say their peace.
  6. Possibly have NPC dialog turned off in your chat box? Grasping at straws here lol

You can find everything you are looking for.
  8. They seem a little tougher than your typical boss but they can be solo'd by reasonably self-sufficient builds.

I think difficulty level 1 always spawns EB's as bosses too.
  9. No, he means there was a free costume token handed out to everyone during the Christmas and Valentines events. It wasn't part of a mission or something.

We also got one for the i13 release the beginning of December so that was like 3 free costume changes on all those characters in a 3 month period.

In fact... was it 4? Wasn't there one handed out shortly after because of the tailor issue we had about then.

Right after i13 I got my 6 month badge and tailor cost concerns finally became a thing of the past for me so I may be misremembering.
  10. Oh you guys missed it, they apparently had quadruple xp month back in April, it was officially called the i14 release.

    Sorry, couldn't resist.

Seriously, I have nothing to contribute since I barely pay attention to xp on a good day. To me double xp weekend just means more lag than usual and I should go do something else.

    RP?

If there was ever a thread that should die a horrible death... this is it.
  12. My first arc had a defeat all. It was a new gang and you needed to defeat them all to "nip it in the bud" so to speak. After a couple of comments I finally dropped that requirement.

But in my second arc in the first mission, I require that you defeat all guards on the arachnos flyer pad before stealing the flyer... The space is tiny and the idea of being able to take off without killing all the guards first seems to be the wrong way of thinking about it. It seems entirely justified to me and not a difficult or time-consuming task. The only way I'm going to change it is if I find out that particular map is bad about stuck critters you can't reach... which would be my luck actually.
  13. Regardless, it's an excellent explanation and I think it fits a superhero game very well.

    I'd like:

    Escort to another objective.

    All maps available.

Boss teleport away on defeat animation.

    Spawn point selection.

    Eco

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Yes, all of the above.
  15. I have to say the not waiting part is hard for me. Our group sticks together and supports each other as much as possible, going the speed of the slowest person. I wait but my stomach sinks as fast as my fury bar while we wait for the guy with zero endurance to rest up.

Of course, usually that's my brute. 3-slotted stamina and 3-slotted end-red in all my attacks and at level 21 I'm only just now getting to where I can run for long. I almost deleted him every level from about 13th on.

I don't suppose there is a mace guide... anywhere? I want to be pretty and strong too.

    Spawn location

Good to know. I hope it works. In the meantime I've given up trying to make sure people encounter things in a particular order. It isn't worth the headache.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
I dont see how, just let him pick his target and when you run in thats when he should be hitting build up and AS so basically right after the initial alpha strike by you the AS goes off giving you a bit of a breather due to the AS fear effect. Its not that hard. Is that other guy a retard or something? Its very easy to AS moving targets. Once they are range when the attack is queued up it doesnt matter how far they run away so long as they dont break line of sight, it still should connect.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, he's not retarded nor am I. It's just two guys who aren't familiar with how the other class works. What you outline is obviously the strategy we need to use and mainly we need to work on timing.

When I said that he can't seem to get off an AS after the fight starts was just my impression. For all I know he isn't even trying.

I just need to communicate with him better. He's coming over to my house tomorrow and that will be the time. He's terrible with the keyboard and trying to talk to him in-game is too frustrating for me to consider. It was easier to just let him do what he was doing and go on to something else asap.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
Sounds to me both of you got issues. Your fury issue fix is really easy. Just put brawl on autofire, if that doesnt give you near max fury I dont know could be going on.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I agree both of us most likely have issues, but I already have brawl on autofire. It still doesn't help that much. I'm thinking I really need the alpha to get a good start. I probably need some recharge in my attacks but I have enough endurance problems as it is.
  19. The two stalkers in our Strike Force (our first together) were very impressive. It almost always meant two less in the enemy group when the rest of us let loose and I don't recall them going back into hide afterwards, they scrapped the rest of the battle with impressive results. I'm certainly not down on stalkers in a team just when teamed with my brute.

But I'm seeing that I probably need to communicate my position to him better and try to work on timing.
  20. That's good to know. Maybe we just need to work on timing.
  21. Well, if I'm on anything else but my Brute we do let the stalker(s) strike first. Our Cap SF mowed through everything including each boss individually using 2 stalkers as the first strike component. It worked great.

I think this particular stalker I ran with this weekend probably thinks that's the way it should always be because he's never run with a brute before (I'm 1 of 2 in the whole group). I don't know any better either to tell the truth... it just felt wrong.

But I was unsure because it sure seems nearly impossible for him to line up an assassin's strike in the moving mass around my Brute if I strike first. I'm thinking that makes him frustrated and that's why I'm asking here. Maybe I should get a stalker's perspective.

At any rate, I'll talk to him tomorrow when he comes over. I appreciate any insight I can get.
  22. I'm looking for some tactical advice.

In my SG almost everyone has at least 1 stalker. I only have a Dominator, Mastermind, and Brute. Needless to say that when I team up the chances of me ending up with a stalker is very high.

The team dynamic of Dominator and Mastermind paired with a Stalker, or my Brute with anything else, is simple enough. We figured that out a long time ago.

The team dynamic of having both a Brute and a stalker(s) in a team continues to baffle me. I can't for the life of me think of a way the two can work together where everyone has fun.

The stalkers, because of their stealth, tend to run way ahead of me to "scout." That's fine with my mastermind and dominator because if they get a wild hair and strike I have ranged attacks and can contribute just fine. If that happens with my Brute I just have to sigh.

I'm not that fond of my brute to begin with but when the stalker is always taking first strike he also takes the aggro. I end up finishing the fight with my Fury bar never above about 25% and my contribution is minor to say the least.

If I strike first then that makes me feel useful but then he never, or rarely, gets his assassin's strike and I assume that makes him feel useless too. Generally by about half way through the mission it becomes a race to see who will take the aggro and that is hardly a good team dynamic.

I've tried charging just as his strike goes off but that doesn't help because of the distances involved. I've tried arriving as the strike hits but that is very hard to do without either interrupting the assassination or failing to get the alpha.

In short, I am basically never going to play my Brute with a Stalker again unless something is resolved. That probably means he won't get much play.

I've never had this problem with any random combination of hero AT's. It's only the Brute/Stalker combo that has me baffled.

Is there a way for both to have fun and use their inherent powers to their full potential? Or is this just a failed combination?
  23. [ QUOTE ]
As was stated before, it doesn't change the animation time or how quickly the power goes off. What the interrupt reduction enhancement does is reduces the amount of time that an outside attack has to interrupt the execution of the power.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    *sigh*

Let me reword then. I want to be sure the Recall goes off the first time because I want the scrapper there asap.

    Better?

It reduces the animation time by a lot if you only have to do it once.

    Galaxy Question

The large inspiration sell-off was the main reason I started my last few characters in Atlas rather than GC too. If I go back it'll be because Atlas has gotten too laggy but I haven't really noticed that yet.

But really, getting to the train station isn't that hard and WW isn't that far from the train in Atlas, just across a parking lot full of low level hellions. I bet you could level from 2 to 3 just making that trip.
  25. I think this is all pretty funny. My favorite villain is a dominator and stalkers seem pretty popular among my friends.

In our SG about half are masterminds. The rest are made up mostly of stalkers followed by corruptors and brutes although the brutes tend to not get much play time. My dominator is the only one of her kind in the group although everyone likes her in teams because of the holds. Go figure.
