I'm sad that dark is at the bottom of your list but I have to agree. If it weren't for Dark Regeneration my Dark/Dark tank would be face-planted more often than the blasters. Sometimes the 15 second recharge to get a 100% heal seems too long which is sad. She seems a tad squishy, even with trios of level 35/40 DR IO's in my powers.

I still love her. Last night she held back a hall full of +3 to +5 malta including at least one Zeus (not sure, I couldn't actually see anything because of the crowded conditions) while the rest of the party were fighting spawns in a nearby doorway. It was glorious... but I did end up going through quite a few orange and green inspirations. I wish her resistances were just a tad higher.

Funny, the only costume sets I've purchased is the costume recipes and vet pieces but I have NPC's using the Justice/Sinister from GvE and the Bolero from the magic pack. I happen to own both. In fact, I was using kilts and cropped shirts before I bought the AE vet pack too now that I think about it.

I'm pretty sure that anything you can do with your own characters you can do with NPC's in AE PLUS anything you've purchased with tickets.

I hated some of the answers but there was no "none of the above". Still, I think the scores are about right although I thought Achiever would be slightly higher and Killer lower.

    Base Rent

I've looked back but the first thread I see on base rent was someone talking about owing every 2 weeks because they were paying as soon as the message comes up. That problem I already knew about.

This was a case of not paying until the power was shut off but *still* getting the same bug (i.e. "you owe..." pops up the next day for 2 weeks from the date paid).

[Edit] Here's a theory - on the 29th I accidentally paid twice, triggering the 2-week bug because I paid in advance of the next due date. I'm usually in a hurry when I pay it and I'm always prone to interruptions at the start of a gaming evening. I can believe I might have done that.

I'll chalk it up to that for now and try to be more careful in the future.

    Base Rent

Anyone else having issues with rent this past month?

My rent was past due 2 weeks on July 28th, I paid it the evening of July 29th. Obviously the power was out (and we had issues with the stupid Vault not working after I paid but that's a different problem).

I just noticed my rent is due on the 12th. Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure it was saying that the day after I paid and I was zoning out on it. It's as if I paid it early OR as if the rent is due on a regular schedule instead of 4 weeks after you last pay.

I'm confused. The 6 week cycle has been working fine for me all year, and now suddenly it seems to be different. This seems to have happened on both the villain side (that I'm responsible for) and on the hero side (that I'm not).
  6. I was on an 8 man team running a level 34 Rugged Crey mission Tuesday night. We ran across quite a few level 40 Paragon Protectors.

It isn't that we minded because the party was 33-36 and it was a welcome challenge and very fun but this from Philotic on another thread reminded me about it:

    [ QUOTE ]
The funnest part was that Manticore's TF is bugged so you'll see level 40(!!!) Paragon Protectors in a TF that's only supposed to have level 35-37 enemies.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So I thought I would report it as a bug. I'm sure nothing will come of putting it in this forum but what the heck.
  7. I would love to see it expanded both in number in one pact and what level you can start a pact (within reasonable limits) to make them even more useful than they already are.

The latter more than the former but both would be cool.
  8. Scrappers by a hair...

    Scrappers - 4
    Tank - 3
    Blaster - 3
    Controller - 2
    Defender - 2

one each of Mastermind, Dominator and Brute

    Magic - 6
    Natural - 4
    Mutation - 3
    Technology - 3
    Science - 1

Love every single one of them - even the Brute

    Lady Jane?

I have so few characters with stealth that I've never been able to try that method.

I try to pull her all the way back to the entrance after her rescue. That way I know exactly when and how the ambushes will approach me. The other trick is to make sure Jane is behind me before the ambushes arrive. That way she is more likely to survive and play support to my actions instead of the other way around.

That and doing it as early as possible usually do it for me.

The rest of the mission can be a problem if she chases something (including ghosts invisible to you) into another mob but if you can get her anywhere close to the chest the mission seems to complete regardless of what happens to her during her final monologue.
  10. ... or isn't the leader and doesn't have time to read the full mission briefing prior to being pulled in...
  11. According to the wiki, the arcane Oracle doesn't show the Magic Axis in the "Attaches To" list but the Magic Axis lists the Oracle as a valid Aux item.

Since the Tech Mission Computer says it can be connected to a Mainframe and vice-versa, I'm assuming that is an oversight in the Wiki... right?

Does anyone know for sure that the Oracle/Mission Computer can attach to the smallest control units?
  12. I think they are all missing those enhancements at all levels and all origins but I have no idea why.

I'm hoping it is a simple oversight and will get corrected soon.

I also think there is another thread, not very old, on this same subject lower down.

[Edit] Well, I can't find it now so I withdraw that final comment. Can't hurt to bring it up every once in a while in case someone in a position to fix it can see it.
  13. heh... I was thinking "this guy is seriously asking me why I prefer the paragon titan wiki?" LOL

And no, I don't judge a book by its cover. It was just the easiest most obvious thing to point at to say "it is generally better maintained".

[Edit] That reminds me, I really need to contribute. I use that site a LOT.

    Issue 15: Anniversary Released

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've come across several things that are obvious bugs. Sometimes I can reproduce them and sometimes I can't. Usually they will eventually go away on their own. In general I just ask on the forums if anyone else is having a similar problem.

I've used the in-game bug reporting once or twice, especially if I don't see any mention of it in the forums. They always tell me to also report it in the forums but I rarely do.

Frankly, that's because there is no place to formally post a bug report where I'd think anyone in a position to do anything about it would read it (certainly not Tech Issues/Bugs).

When an issue goes live would seem like the perfect time but the Beta Bug-Report forums are usually locked down. To me there needs to be an "Issue xx Live Bug Reports" forum just like the Beta versions. Keep it up for 1-2 months with categorized threads that are heavily moderated. The Beta Feedback forums usually stay up but they rarely have formal bug report threads. I have posted bugs in those but have no idea if they get any attention at all.

Other than that, posting a bug to the forums really just seems like a monumental waste of time. I'll keep using the /bug. At least I know now that someone in the company will at least attempt to reproduce it and maybe put it on a list someplace.

    Base Upkeep??

In fact, if you pay it as soon as it comes up you will have to pay more often than every 4 weeks. It's bugged.

Wait for the power to go out.
  17. Nice, I like all the pics so far
  18. My flying allies kept getting permanently stuck in the terrain, especially in the smooth cave. I finally just removed flight from all but a few enemy types.

But when they did fly it was pretty cool.
  19. Same for me. You have to use the Snipping tool which is actually pretty cool once you get the hang of it.

You can find it under Accessories.

Also see Screenshots page on Paragon Wiki and search for the sub-section titled Vista Clipboard Alternative: Snipping Tool

    http://boards.cityofheroes.com/newreply....part=1&vc=1

<edit> Actually, a regular screenshot works fine for me. The only time I have to use Snip is when I'm trying to take a pic of an interface screen - especially the tailor screen. I don't have a problem with PrnScrn in-game.

    Interface issues

I'm having trouble with a few interface items.

    1) Tool Tips don't always show up when I hover over things. This doesn't always happen but it's frequent enough to be annoying. It happens in the Market, stores, and even hovering over power buttons in the tray. I have not confirmed this with others. I've tried adjusting the Tooltip Delay option and it seems to have no effect at all.

    2) In the enhancement screen sometimes my cursor is the normal mouse arrow and sometimes it is a blue or white hand. When it is the hand I cannot center the cursor over the enhancements and it becomes a gamble trying to place them in slots - I have to review the change summary carefully to be sure I'm putting it in the slot I want. I know others with completely different hardware having the same problem.

Neither of these problems are i15-specific since it was going on before then.

I am using 64 bit Vista. My video drivers are as high as I can make them and still get a great experience in the game (the highest versions of the ATI drivers causes much bigger problems for me). The rest of the game works great.

    imho, nobody deserves 5 stars

    [/ QUOTE ]

    This doesn't even make sense.

There will always be a few at anything that are the best.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Agreed.

    Nobody deserves 5 stars? Ever?

"Few deserve 5 stars" - ok, that's fine.

"nobody yet deserves 5 stars." That's fine too. I can understand feeling like that.

But really, what are you saving your 5-star virginity for? The Prince Charming of arcs? Maybe you are just afraid to vote 5-stars for fear of finding an even better arc later?

At any rate, anytime I see a flat declaration like that I automatically stamp it as false.

However... I agree with FredrikSvanberg that a "recommended" button is the best way to do these. Until then, the vote itself IS a recommendation, especially if it has a fairly decent score (and 4 is a great score). People look at that and automatically think "wow, 126 people thought this was a 4-star arc!"

I played my little fire/fire dom last night with my stalker friend. We hadn't played them since we ran the Cap SF a month ago.

I liked her before but I love her now! I feel SO much more useful! THANK YOU!

The endurance was a bit of a problem but I noticed that my endurance usage was no worse off than my stalker friend at the end of big battles. I never used endurance much in the past but then I wasn't engaging and finishing off almost half of the spawns either. I had so much fun I had to keep reminding myself to use the controls.

We both leveled last night and I grabbed Stamina so I'm expecting even better things in the future.

In the past we played them once every few months but after last night we decided to set aside Wednesdays to play them regularly. Our experience was that much better.
  23. Don't be so quick to dismiss those 3 votes as griefing. It's really impossible to tell or know their motives. Here are two scenarios as an example:

    1) The arc was sitting at 4.50 and then 3 4-star votes came along to drop it to 4.488. Lack of tickets could simply mean they followed the tutorial (and most people I know who aren't familiar with AE) and clicked on the 1-star first followed by 2, 3, and 4.

    2) A team of 3 played your arc and simply didn't like it, voting a 1 or 2.

Seriously, wouldn't you need a group bigger than 3 people to really grief an arc with that many votes?

At any rate, this is exactly why I wish we could either see the exact rating to 2 decimal places and/or how many votes in each category we've received.
  24. I don't know everything that has changed or the details but I figure I'll find those out while I review. Some things I'm planning to look at are:

    1) Set the arc level ranges.

    2) Review all custom creature's power selections and possibly adjust them using the new customization options.

    3) Play around customizing the standard critters that are in custom groups so they fit in better. This will probably require some dialog changes.

    4) Review spawn points now that we can see them on the mini-maps and possibly move objectives to make them more logical.

    5) Figure out which goals have had a trigger added and consider changing the missions to take advantage of options that weren't available before.

    6) Look to see how much the size decreased to see if I can flesh out my custom groups with one or two new custom critters for more variety.

    7) Review and select from the new search keywords - possibly rewrite the summary to drop the old tags in favor of more description.

    Then test them.
