Quote:I already do both of those. If brawl had been 0 endurance when Max was in his teens it would have probably been a lot less painful. Two tips: Slot your attacks for acc, end-red and rec-red. Let fury be your damage buff until later.
Use brawl. It costs no end now and is a fantastic fury builder.
If everyone else thinks its fine then obviously I just need to adapt and try to nudge my wife to keep up without getting too much wife-aggro which is of course the worst kind. Her fury bar takes DAYS to go down. -
I guess I'll just learn to live with having near zero Fury at the beginning of most fights while playing the usual duo with my wife.
I still think it would be nice, and not hurt the feel or balance of the AT at all, if it drained away more slowly, at least after it falls below 50%. It would certainly make the teens less painful... I can't tell you how many times I came within a single keystroke of deleting mine back then. Endurance and Fury are so counter to each other that those levels are like trying to advance with a squishy, sub-par Tank fighting endurance-draining clockwork. It was the opposite of fun. I do have to admit he got a lot better in the 20's and Max no longer has thoughts of suicide although he is the least played of all my characters.
But then I only have the one Brute so I probably just haven't gotten the hang of it. I definitely know that I'm not an expert or understand the subtleties of the AT (can a Brute be subtle? I don't think so - lol). -
Has anyone ever talked about slowing down how quickly Fury fades? I feel like I basically have to RUN RUN RUN all the time in order to have decent damage on my Brute. Hurrying usually leads to some brutal mistakes being made. Besides, most of the people I team with (and myself) prefer a slightly slower pace.
I'm not trying to troll. I'm just asking if I'm the only one who thinks the bar plumets a little too fast between battles. -
Quote:We figured this out yesterday. Everytime you become exemplared all your pets die.Last night we had 3 MM's in our group and everytime they exited a mission the pets came out of the door with them and then 3 seconds later keeled over dead. It was quite odd.
Since you get the annoying "are you sure you want to be exemplared" message every time you transition I'm guessing you lose your pets each time too - even if you have the option turned on to automatically accept the exemp.
I can definitely understand why it happens. It just took us a while to figure out the real reason instead of blaming it on a plague. -
That certainly explains things. I didn't know that the required number of defenders had to be defeated at all the banners before any banner became vulnerable.
The number required at each banner must be pretty low if you can put 2 people on each banner and get them down within a couple of minutes. I can see how it would go a lot faster with two teams. Hmm... sounds like a good Coalition event if you could only predict when/where the events would show up. -
I know that a force field bubble isn't a buff that works although the Thermal shields do the trick. I'm not sure what's up with that. Apparently some buffs work and some don't. Using Equip directly on the one not under my control always works but sort of endurance heavy.
Nice to know the /releasepets command. Cool.
Last night we had 3 MM's in our group and everytime they exited a mission the pets came out of the door with them and then 3 seconds later keeled over dead. It was quite odd. I transition faster than one of the MM players so I frequently saw her pets die both IN the mission as she exited, and then a few seconds later OUTSIDE the mission.
That was new. Before yesterday the only bug I'd seen with pets was the lack of control which wasn't a huge deal. -
You should have gotten a lot more boss ambushes than that. Sounds like Menelaus didn't spawn on Hector's defeat or you didn't find him. In turn Menelaus summons a couple more guys to aid him.
I've always thought that mission was a bit buggy. The ambushes have a nasty habit of showing up right on top of you and when they don't they sometimes don't aggro on you and end up standing around in odd places. I've never had what you had though. I've always been able to find them all and complete the mission eventually.
According to the wiki the arc should award 4 merits. I finished it just 2 weeks ago and I remember being disappointed but not exactly how many I got.
I will have to say though - Mercedes is one of my favorite contacts. All of her arcs have some imaginitive mechanics... I especially like the Magic Man's finale. -
Quote:Agreed! Very neat look and visual. I guess none of my villains have gotten high enough to see them in mayhem missions or if I have they weren't flying. It blew me away. Once I discovered it I stayed flying or hovering for the rest of my time online. My favorite costume so far.One quick aside: if you haven't flown with that costume on, give yourself a treat and do it, even if you have to buy a Raptor Pack. I so dig the look of that costume when flying. Rocket boots FTW.

As above but you can put the forge in the oversight room and you don't have to keep it. Create it, see what you need to craft your teleporter and go find it. After you successfully craft the teleporter sell the forge to get back the prestige.
Then create your teleporter room (I suggest the 2x2 room because the alcove only allows 1 beacon), go to "Place Personal Items" (or something similar) and put down your teleporter in the room. Go back to normal edit mode to place your teleporter beacons.
You'll need to earn the beacons by getting the exploration badges in the various areas while in SG mode.
Be sure to turn on Supergroup mode (under the Supergroup tab on the chat box), and try to build up some Prestige. You'll start with 20k but you need to earn all the rest of it and you'll need a lot to get teleporters.
You have plenty of time to learn by tinkering with your 1 room base while you build up prestige. Just remember, prestige never goes away, you can always sell whatever you put down for the same amount you bought it for.
I highly recommend that you go to the Bases forum and look through some of the guides. -
Quote:I was just telling my wife this last night. I had increased my solo scrapper to +0/x2 +bosses over the weekend and there was a huge difference not just in the size of the spawns but what was in them. I was seeing lots of orange lieutenants and red bosses when what I was expecting to see was just more of the same as I was seeing under +0/x1 +bosses. I was mostly fighting freakshow during this time.Ah, this is the other thing. Before, you'd get larger spawns at the mission (plus difficulty) level, or smaller spawns at +1. This is no longer the case, and I'm seeing larger spawns at +1, which makes for some NASTY encounters.
For instance, before they only spawns, really, you could meet at +1 were either three +1 minions, a +1 minion and lieutenant, or just a +1 lieutenant. So often now I've met spawns of TWO +1 lieutenants and a minion, something which should have been EVEN CON, as well as a large spawn of SIX +1 minions, which has no business spawning at +0x2. When levels and spawn sizes were detached from each other, it seems like small spawns are appearing lower-level and large ones are appearing higher-level, when they ought to follow the old rules - many enemies OR strong enemies, never many AND strong, neither many NOR strong. Difficulty varies a lot more wildly now, even before bosses are taken into account.
I finally downgraded her back last night because an arachnos mission I went in almost killed me several times. They were exciting battles but using up my inspiration tray before getting to the boss at the end was a bummer.
I have to admit though, that it really did make me feel like the plucky scrapper fighting against overwhelming odds in the name of justice, as opposed to the superhero scattering the chaf before her to get to the real menace at the end like I usually feel. Both are good feelings so it isn't like I'm really upset. I just wish there was an in-between setting.
And all of this is just my impression of what happened. I can't tell when a mission is extra hard if it is the mission or the difficulty. I'd really need to check the same mission with different difficulty settings in order to get a base-line for comparison... and I'm too lazy for that.
BTW - I have to agree that master illusionists seem to be occuring much more often than they used to. -
I only ventured into the Shadow Shard for the first time last night. I found it weird and exciting. It's a very cool place and reading all this just makes it moreso.
I'm with Sam. I hope they expand on it sooner or later. But I also wouldn't be surprised if the Devs consider it complete as-is. It is a bit of a mystery as to what it really is and it could be the Midnighters don't really know either as it was the now missing Dream Doctor who literally thought the trap up (possibly using a sliver of his own being to do it?).
How many times have we heard that the best way to defeat a stronger opponent is to turn his own strength against him? It sounds like that is what has happened here. -
I've noticed for a long time. Just looking at the 1st mission of an arc gives the story book and you don't have to actually take the mission. I assumed that was working as intended. I've been using it to see if I've been offered the first mission yet.

I saw a good hold animation last night. A level 50 blaster used Choke and the victim went into the normal choke animation instead of being stunned. I told her I was jealous, my fire controller and fire dominator's Choke's both give the stun effect.
-
This may be related to the run animation problem but I'm seeing it only when I hover. Moving forward in hover with my weapon out on my female Shield/Axe tank makes the character stutter. It's like her legs are moving back and forth and bumping into each other. As soon as the axe disappears the stutter stops.
I haven't tried it without the shield activated. -
Quote:Our stalker Wednesday night encountered this. She uses the ninja blade. She entered Assassin's Strike to get a boss with an electric damage aura, took damage from the aura, and then was unable to fight with her blade at all for the next 20-30 seconds. I'm not sure how long but it seemed I was alone fighting him for quite a while. She said none of her attacks would activate. I know that's just hearsay, I can't know exactly what happened but thought I'd point out that another player has complained of this same thing with a different weapon.Bug: Character randomly drops out of combat stance.
*edit*
As soon as I finished posting this, I saw this bug occur after only a single use of Eagle's Claw (using the Bright Face Smasher theme). I activated the attack with an enemy attacking me at the same time, my animation interrupted a fraction of a second before it finished and then dumped me into idle stance for the rest of the battle and the next minute or so, I was unable to initiate combat mode with Martial Arts attacks. I WAS able to initiate combat mode just fine with the Undead Slaying Axe, but even after putting the axe away (by hitting Esc twice) I was still unable to re-enter combat mode. It took a minute before this fixed itself while I was typing this edit.
However, I played a katana scrapper last night and never saw it. I was definitely being hit a lot so it is hard to believe I wasn't hit at the same time I attacked at least a few times. -
The only thing I've noticed like this is that it seems more common now for two clients to be mistaken about where the other person is and the two push each other around until one of them moves.
On screen it always appears the other person is responsible for the pushing. It's become a joke between my wife and I as we chide "Quit pushing me!" in unison. -
I don't join or form PUG's often. In fact, I've only ever formed 2 PUG's during my entire time here unless you count inviting in people that send tells asking if we have room.
When I join a PUG I find out who I'm supposed to follow by asking the star in advance. Then I follow that person, doing all I can to contribute to the team in regards to defeating enemies. I otherwise keep my hands off the glowies, I don't pull unless asked and I try not to get left behind and certainly never get ahead. The star or his appointed leader is the boss and I try to follow orders to the best of my ability. I always try to confrom to the style of the leader - rushing vs herding vs slow, roleplay vs ooc vs quiet... whatever makes me fit in best to the rest of the team even if it means the occassional dirt nap.
The couple of times I formed a PUG I was on my controller and both times I found at least one tank to join my team so I appointed that person as the lead in the mission (I didn't look specifically for tanks, they just happened to be available and I was happy to have them). The only thing I asked of my team was to stay together and I made sure no one got left behind because they needed a rest or whatever. Luckily my teams did exactly as I asked and I had fun and hope they did too. None of those missions had glowies but if they had it wouldn't have bothered me if someone else had clicked them.
If PUG's include random add-ins to my normal SG teams, then I've had quite a few bad experiences with those people trying to lead or jumping the gun or wandering off in the opposite direction or running way ahead or breaking their neck to get a glowie... I've very rarely had a good experience from those so I usually turn down such things now unless the tell is especially coherent and polite. -
I had noticed it wasn't strictly a Seer Marino problem but it never occurred to me why it was happening. Good catch!

Latest ATI drivers? Really? Anytime I update I get all sorts of problems that make the enhancement screen mouse issue seem a lot less important... mostly related to lag and mostly involving other games but enough to make me not want to update.
I wish they'd eliminate the hand on the enhancement screen. Sometimes it is a simple arrow and it works so much better. I just haven't figured out how to make it be an arrow all the time. -
I checked the Powers menu, yes.
Oh well, we made it through the last of Gaussian's arc without more deaths so I'm good now. A tiny bit more +Resist on my Dark probably wouldn't have helped anyway. Not sure why I thought the ring was +Defense but that's why I went after it.
I'm not sure I want to bother with a petition but I might try Ouroborus. -
I was clearing up old story arc books on my level 45 tank the other day. I did Doc Delilah (no O Portal since I already had that) and then moved on to Stephanie in Striga. I finished all her missions and she thanked me and said I could keep the ring and all that, but I didn't actually get the ring temp power.
I know I did it back in the 20's with a friend but when the missions got off we just went on with hers. I'm pretty sure I didn't get it back then (because it wasn't my mission) but I could be mistaken since it was over a year ago. Is it a once-in-a-lifetime thing and I just forget I ever had it or is it a bug? -
Quote:It happens when other members of your team are not in the same area as you are. Or at least that is my experience. I hope they fix that soon. It's not quite as annoying as when you couldn't select a mission unless everyone was in the same area but it's still pretty bad.I Searched but didn't read every post in the thread so forgive me if this has already been mentioned.
I'm having trouble with map markers when selecting contacts.
The marker does not always appear on my Nav Bar and the yellow Waypoint marker does not always appear on my screen.
I have to open the Map and guide myself "manually" until I'm within visual range.
And BTW - there is no bug with the SKing of same-level characters. They appear side-kicked in the team list but their level stays the same if it matches. I know this is true because my wife and I team all the time and we always refer to the enemies by their con-colors... which match. -
Quote:Ok, 3 days with no lockup from the dreaded "Display Driver atikmdag Stopped Responding " blackscreen bug.[Edit] My new machine is Vista with a 9800 and I have the unrecoverable error too. It's a once every few days occurrence. I uninstalled a particular windows hotfix and ran all day yesterday just fine. Of course, that may be a coincidence. If I go the rest of the week then I'll believe it.
The Windows hotfix I uninstalled was KB952287. I got the suggestion from repairyourpcnow.com. I think the hotfix deals with a bug in Microsoft SQL server so it was safe for me to uninstall and probably is for the majority of folks.
You can find it under Control Panel / Programs and Features / Installed Updates. Uninstalling is easy from there.
I hope it helps. -
Quote:We encountered them in regular missions when this was happening earlier this year and they were loads of fun. We had no rads but lots of control. This new team however... well... doesn't.Ran one on Sat, Had Tons of them. Luckily we had a lot of rads on the team, they were worth 15-20k a piece for Exp and we were slaughtering them. So it was great leveling fun!!!
On a side not, if we had not had the rads, it wouldn't have been so much fun.
Besides, the old team was 35-36 and the new team is only 33rd. We'll have our hands full just handling the regular level 35 stuff.
Besides, if we did manage to struggle through it only to run into the bugged door mission it would be a huge disappointment.
I think we'll wait. -
Is Manticore's TF still broken and spawning level 40 Protectors? I'm pretty sure it is still sending people to the AE building but is that a once-in-a-while thing or common?
The SG wants to run it but I don't want to go to the trouble if it is still bugged.
BTW - I got sent to the AE building for a newspaper in IP over the weekend and the datastream turned out to be the door.
