The field analysts and Midnighter greeter are dressed modern. I'm not sure why only the nurse should have to go native.

Happy New Years and many thanks to the great team that helped me totally own Rommie last night during the midnight hour!
-
I think they should apply it only to sending multiple invites TO THE SAME PERSON... in which case it probably needs to be a couple of seconds longer.
-
Probably just coincidence. I've had lots of people run around or twirl around within a short distance of my characters but they don't usually bother me like you are describing. I rarely get blind invites either, at least lately... but that may be because I'm almost always in a team and join the SG within minutes of creating a new character.
I did have a strange thing happen last night in Cimerora - a guy asked me if I wanted to join a villain team (not exact wording but that was the gist of it). I tried to answer him back that I was already in a hero team but got the "... does not accept private messages from enemy factions" which I thought was hilarious. Everyone in our party got the same request. He probably thought we were all terribly rude for not responding -
During Serpent Drummer's final mission - I certainly do not remember seeing this before but overheard it just a couple of weeks ago:
[NPC] Faultline: /t Fusionette Okay, okay. Then howabout you pick the movie tonight?
[NPC] Faultline: Doh! Sorry, Mis-tell. Let's get back to the mission! -
When my wife and I were building up our SG on Protector and had 2 teleporters we chose:
1) King's Row to be near the Yellow line (this one was frequently switched out)
2) Steel Canyon to be near the Green Line, Tailor, and Boomtown
3) Brickstown to be near Crey's Folley
4) Dark Astoria because it is just so far out of the way
If we didn't have the GvE Pocket D porter we would have done that instead of KR.
Between those, Pocket D and the Ouroboros portal we could get almost anywhere without too much trouble. We also both had permission to change the base so we would frequently change out King's Row to be Faultline, Striga, Talos or wherever we happen to be rampaging at the time.
With the train merger I'd definitely switch out KR to be Perez Park or Striga with the understanding that changing them out on the fly is not that difficult.
And chin up, we now have 7 teleporters going to 13 locations and never have a problem going anywhere we like. If we can do that in a 2-person SG in less than a year of sporadic play anyone can. -
Quote:Yepper, win win winIt also boosts the passive regen of powers that provide it, like health, Fast Healing, and Integration for a /Regen. Since it functions like an SO, you can either cap powers that weren't capped before, or eek out a little more regen of powers that were capped.

I think it is because the existing groups are designed to work as a whole already and are the easiest thing to insert into tip mission #25 of 150... if you know what I mean.
Splitting them into individuals and mixing and matching is almost always a bad idea (and usually the source of the latest AE exploit). You really have to know what you are doing and test out the wazoo to make sure a random collection of individuals can do the job properly. All things considered I think they made the right decision. -
I would think it would vary depending on the character. I know it has for me and I only have 3 level 50's only one of which has managed to craft a Boost.
My Dark/Dark tanker definitely got the Cardiac because the endurance was still an issue sometimes (she was slotted to assume my /rad teammate was always available which isn't necessarily true at 50th level) and of course the secondary is resist which gave me a very nice boost to my resistances. I'm very happy with the way she's turned out with the boost.
My MA/Regen is working toward getting the Spiritual because the recharge/heal would be a great match. It would help all the click-powers Regen has come up more often and be more effective when used.
My DB/SR scrapper is going musculature for the little extra damage as she is near-perfect as-is already. -
Agreed! This is an extremely annoying... I'm going to call it a bug because it used to work like this.
-
Same. Changing characters will always cause it to collapse again even after a resize.
I have noticed that when it is collapsed it takes multiple clicks to get the claim button to work. I always assumed it was because it is overlapping other interface widgets. I stopped trying (I was afraid I might report myself as a spammer!) and now I always resize before clicking the claim button. It never fails to work on the first click that way. -
Quote:I highly recommend you restart your stalker as a villain. The missions are much more straight-forward and easier for new players in the Rogue Isles. I recommend doing the tutorial (it's different for villains) as it's an easy way to get to 2nd.I am on the "Protector" server, I believe. & RogueDemonhunter, I am a free trial player, & I am not even sure that I will sub to this game. I wish they would have an extended free version! I can't even chat in anything but say & I can only private chat ppl who I have added as friends. But the stupid trial is not beyond 7 days & as I said, I don't know that I will stick around.
Once you upgrade and can talk and send tells and make friends the game gets a lot better.
I have characters on Protector who could help you but I have no idea how we could possibly hook up while you are on a trial account and can't answer tells. However, if you find anyone and tell them in local that you are a trial account and need help I'm guessing 90% of us would fall over themselves to help you. -
Quote:Wicked Wendy (above) confirmed it along with several folks in a thread discussing the pros and cons of being a rogue/vigilante in the Player Questions thread.Woah. Can someone confirm the 60?
This seems reasonable, and might convince me to keep a Rogue / Vigilante around.
Someone with permission should update the Wiki because I assumed it was correct and didn't bother running further tips on my rogue... I will now obviously. -
-
Quote:Yes, that's the information I didn't have in the OP. I definitely withdraw any talk of additional merit rewards as that fills that request in spades. Now as for rewards actually I continue to do my 5 Rogue tips a day and a moraility mission and I get 60 Reward Merits every two days.
Quote:Regarding the morality missions, I think I was just assuming that (to use rogue/hero as an example), you would get a mission drop based on the points you've accumulated, i.e. you either confirm as a rogue or switch to hero. There could be some obvious problem with that that I'm overlooking.
Quote:Just to be clear, though, I'm not complaining. These are things I'd love to see happen, but overall, I am thoroughly enjoying the new system. -
I almost posted an entirely different answer but I see you mean when running an ITF or LGTF etc, you want an equal chance to get a hero or villain tip if you are a rogue or vigilante?
I can get behind that.
In the meantime just dismiss the ones you don't want and head to the appropriate zone to get the "right" tips afterwards. I don't think it is that big a deal considering how often they drop. -
Shadowguardinal

<-- what's my register date? then
Hit 50 in December '09 - about 1.5 years
Justice Fencer

early Spring of '10
Hit 50 this month - approximately 8-9 months and fastest so far
[Edit to Add] On the other hand Golden Avariel was made a few days before Shadowguardinal and only hit 33 a couple of weeks ago. 2.5 years and still counting for that one. -
Excuse me for asking but... how do you have a level 50 blaster and "never really made it that far into the game"? I guess that's the part that confuses me and I'm not sure what content you have experienced and which you haven't (aside from the brand new stuff obviously).
Praetoria is cool but I like most of the story arcs in all 3 zones all the way to 50 with only a few exceptions. If you can get in on a Task Force that isn't just stealthing everything that can be a lot of fun content too.
Good luck finding whatever it is you are looking for. -
Quote:That's great news that the crystals already work to give the proper list of missions depending on alignment. The only thing they'd need to do for a combined Ouroboros would be to have two portal crystals. Heroes would be unable to use the Villain portal and vice versa while the vigilantes and rogues could use either one.None at all. I have my personal blue and red bases coalitioned while that bug still existed and once inside a base you end up as a native alignmnet again. Villains/Rogues only see redside mission arcs and Heroes/Vigilantes see blueside mission arcs from the same crystal. I'd have to see about getting them teamed and trying to start a mission from either 'side'
I'm assuming the same teaming restrictions in the current co-op zones would still apply in a co-op Ouroboros. Makes me wonder why they haven't done it already. -
Quote:Thanks for the support.Completely agree. I very much hope to see that implemented.
I haven't run any of them yet but I wonder if the situations in those tips just don't lend themselves to a rogue solution instead of heroic one without being too villainous. I consider a lot of the rogue missions in the Isles to be pretty heroic, the line is very thin with the only real difference being the way it is presented as an opportunity for gain vs something altruistic. And what about the morality mission? Do you go back to the Isles to get that or get something different in Paragon and what sort of mission would it be?
There is also the fact that no one who actually lives in Paragon would gain anything by joining a team where you were running Rogue tips since heroes can't go that direction. It would fill up their fame without gaining them any progress.
As much as I'd love this to happen I can certainly understand why it wasn't done and why I suggested some contacts that give similar missions outside the tip-system. -
Quote:No, but I consider it high considering we get that AND access to the other side. YMMV obviously.Seeing as an Alignment Merit is the equivilant of more than 100 Reward Merits it doesn't really seem all that extraordinarily high.
I withdraw all requests for merit parity, that's beyond anything I had hoped for. I'd still like some tourist-area content though. -
I had no idea Rogues got 60 merits for additional morality missions beyond the 2nd (I *know* the 2nd is only 30 merits). That changes things drastically.
I'm actually stunned by the news and I forsee several more tip/morality missions in that character's future. I definitely understand now why the new rogue/vigilante-specific tips in the tourist zones do not offer a chance to continue in the gray alignment. Yep. That certainly clears up a lot I didn't understand before. -
Look at the info on the power... I can do that when I get home if no one else does it before me.

I have never had any problems with roleplay although we tend to do it in team chat so probably the "tools" just don't know what we are doing and leave us alone. Sometimes someone will approach and we'll switch to local and chat them up though and that almost always goes well.
Unfortunately it seems like the more veteran we become, the less we roleplay. Most of the folks in our group have pretty much stopped over the years. It seems like lately I can't get beyond a couple of sentences before the "let's get moving" comments start up. Also since everyone plays different characters constantly it's impossible to work up any sort of relationship between them and that probably crimps the RP more than anything.
Unfortunately my wife has almost stopped playing because roleplay is the only reason she games at all. Sadly, when she gets on everyone wants to play with her/us and then things go downhill rapidly as the non/ex-roleplayers push us onward and the missions become races (she hates chaos and prefers a sedate pace). It is easy enough for me to adapt and enjoy but not so much for my wife. She will usually make up an excuse and quit after the first mission.
Maybe our problem is that we are too nice and can't turn away good friends even though we know they'll ruin her fun.
It all makes me very sad. I'm not sure what to do to help her out. What she wants is to find a different group of players like herself to associate with on a regular basis but neither of us have much of a clue on how to find them. What I would like is to re-energize the rp in our existing group but I have no idea how.
