Our SG did this one back in December and it took us a slightly over 3 hours. There are only 4 door missions and the last one is pretty quick but all of the Shadow Shard travel and hunts extend the time required by quite a bit.
42 merits though. -
Quote:That link is awesome, thanks!I'll admit, the colored name bit still has me confused to this day, but check here and it'll give you the info you need.
What is the color of the leader on a full team? Grey? -
Quote:This is only true if you happen to already be a Hero or Villain and run the morality mission that keeps you at that alignment. Every other combination of the first morality mission will result in zero merits of any kind (i.e. being hero running a vigilante, or a rogue running a hero, etc). The first time you complete a morality mission you get 50 merits.
Everytime you re-affirm your alignment you get a merit reward of some sort. It just happens to work out that the first morality IS a re-affirmation if you are a hero staying a hero or a villain staying a villain.
That little technicality has bit more than one of my friends in the rear-end so I thought I'd mention it. -
My question is if my SG starts the LGTF on the 8th then finishes it on the 15th when it is the strike target... will we get the extra award?
The way we play to kill-all/most and only having 1.5 hours/week, I expect it will take us 2 weeks to finish the LGTF... which would be perfect if it is the week you end and not the week you do the whole thing.
Guess we'll find out in a couple of weeks. hmmm... I wonder if I could ask a GM in-game, I may try. -
Quote:YES Please! Our SG night is Tuesdays and I don't want to have to decide that night as we meet what we are going to do.The issue 19 page shows that the ITF is next week's WST... can we continue this trend of giving us future notice of what "next weeks WST" will be? Big help for coordinating SG/VG teams or other such things.
BTW - SCORE on ITF being next week. I'll get my rare sooner than I thought. Nice! -
The GMotD is definitely not reporting it at the moment.
I really hope they announce these at least a few days in advance in the future. It would be nice to be able to plan our Tuesday night SG activity before we meet on Tuesday night. -
My two main projects got a good workout over the weekend.
My Emp/Sonic defender got from 33 to 36 and ran a Citadel on Saturday.
My Ice/Cold/Ice controller got from 41 to 46 and ran an ITF on Sunday.
Great fun. -

I never understood why we couldn't enter the leader's base. Probably some left over from base raids - like the SG base's defenses would shoot at you or something.
I really hope Ouroboros will be made co-op in the future... or at least let tourists go to the opposite Ouroboros if they are in one of those zones when they activate the portal. I wouldn't expect them to be able to start opposite-faction flashback missions (the crystals and contacts would give the "you haven't run the introduction arc" message) but allow them to join teams running flashbacks, task forces, and Ramiel's arc. -
Man you are right. I guess I assumed hero-side because the villain-side stores are in every single zone and take no special effort to find or use.
For completeness then, the level 35 magic SO's are in Nerva or St Martial at the Magic Quartermasters marked on the maps. I like the one in St. Martial because it's right behind the hospital. -
Quote:hmm... The particular line you quoted wasn't about how the TF's are run right/wrong, it was about how the devs have decided to incentivize running task forces right/wrong. But I suppose it could be interpreted the same way. I apologize.LOL. It is the right way when it is the way you prefer. Nice.
I still think encouraging speed runs (by increasing only the final reward) will have unfortunate consequences (new people having a bad intro to TF's and devs lowering merit rewards are just a couple I can think of) but I guess I could be wrong. -
You can run it as early as 30. I usually do it as part of the Aura mission. I much prefer fighting rikti in a door mission to going in Crey's Folly and trying to do it there, especially at 30th.

The fact that they'll be giving an added experience reward doesn't rule out the idea that only TF's that max out at level 50 will be in the line-up. All but the Incarnate TF's allow lower level folks to come along and the great XP reward is for them. You are probably right, because there just isn't enough content to support a weekly target of nothing but level 50 TF's. But added experience in and of itself is not proof of intent.
My concern is that the WST will make it impossible (not merely highly unlikely) to find a TF that isn't being run at the fastest possible, everyone-scatter, mass-confusion, stealth-every-mission, speed. I think it will also be harder to organize non-speed-run TF's as folks will be wanting to run them as fast as possible on each alt either for the Notice, the Merits, or the Badges.
I think it will encourage people to run the task forces... I just don't think it encourages in the right way. Not like the first few weeks after issue 19 came out and people were running kill-all TF's for shard farming. Now that was an exciting time! -
Quote:I was only taking a guess at the reason to wait. I know I wait until 18 and 23 to combine mine (the "Combine" dialog isn't THAT badPossibly, makes sense if that's what they did at 27/28 as well (since the penalty at 32 is only -10% rather than -20 per SO).
I actively dislike the "Combine" dialogue popping up for everything I reslot so I try and avoid it by slotting at 27/32/37.). By 32 I usually have a full slate of IO's so I don't normally need SO's that high unless it's an emergency (lack of salvage or in a hurry to slot a brand new power).

The lady in the Midnighter Club in the back meeting room with a cup of tea also sells level 35 magic SO's.
But the best bet is to go to Bricks and run the genie Serafina's mission anytime after level 30. She's the official level 30-40 Magic store. -
Cloak of Fear does have to be slotted well for endurance and accuracy but it puts a definite slow down on attacks from most of a mob you might have close to you. But where it really shines is when you have a second source of Fear such as Touch of Fear from Dark Melee. You can make anything short of EB's (and many of those) cower before you. Very nice for putting the bosses in a spawn on hold while you deal with the minions and lieutenants.
If you don't have a second Fear power I agree that OG is definitely the way to go and I've always been of the opinion that you take one or the other but not necessarily both. -
I couldn't stand to watch the second one finish getting in the box!

GM Lloyd has been a big help for me in the past, going above and beyond is apparently just business as usual for him.

I made a suggestion a month or so ago to add content for the gray alignments to do in the tourist areas and got slammed pretty hard for it.
I think the reward is fine especially for rogues since the hero TF's are opened up but it would be nice if there were more solo/small team-friendly things for the gray alignments to do.
I'd personally like rogue/vigilante contacts but that was the least popular of my suggestions. The next best (and much easier) thing is to let us talk to the contacts we get introduced to via Bank missions. It would be fine if those contacts won't introduce us to more contacts... I don't mind running more Bank missions to open more content but I would like the option.
[Edit to add] Totally agree with Spitting Trashcan. Tips you find in the tourist area should include options to stay at your current alignment. -
Quote:I was told the ambush happens if you stray toward that side of the top of the mountain. We've always taunted the minotaur away from Solaris and managed to avoid the ambush (or it came too late to matter). I thought that was working as intended. I hate that ambush, it can be a real team killer. It means the first mission on the ITF - when the Nictus ambush you when you rescue Sister Solaris from the Minotaur at the temple.
So does anyone know what triggers the ambush after the patch? Aggroing the Minotaur? -
Fully support any way to make sending e-mails to yourself more fool proof. A "Self" button would do the trick although I'm sure there are lots of ways to do it.
Would be nice if you could drag-and-drop names from your global friends list into the TO as well.
I doubt they'll ever let us send stacks in an e-mail. It would become the ultimate storage device for inspirations. -
My son re-subbed after 3 years (or close to it) to join me when I subscribed. He was so attached to two of his characters that he paid to have them transferred to Justice from Protector which had been his old stomping ground.
While it would seem reasonable to make a policy like that my son's experience tells me otherwise. Of course if they made it easy to reclaim the name or re-name on first attempt to login, then it would probably be ok. If they just deleted the characters that would certainly not be ok. -
Quote:Wow, I had no idea there were 5 hero story arcs plus one for Kheldians plus the Bricks Sciense store that would give you the portal. Good link! Here's the Wiki page : Entrusted with the Secret
The Midnighter arc which gives the badge is the second arc from Mercedes Sheldon: The Magic Man, but the Wiki page does list all the other ways to obtain the badge.
