I left the building, and started toward the jungle. I heard weapons fire, and immediately started running with leaps and bounds, toward the sound. I was surprised at how quickly I could move in the lighter gravity. Members of Task Force Beta were fighting the very jungle itself. Some of the trees were attacking, them. The plants looked to be tough customers, they were pinging orange, red and purple to me. I focused on the large Tree that was using its branches to swat Task Force Beta like they were flies, and doing tremendous damage with each stroke, It reminded me of one of those tree creatures from Lord of the Rings. In my mind I labeled it an Ent. I hit build up, and hit it with Block of Ice as I was running up to it. It appeared to have no effect on the Ent. I followed up with Frozen Touch, and the Ent froze in a block of Ice. I then slammed my foot into the ground releasing the awesome power of my Frozen Aura. A ring of frost zoomed out in all directions and froze several of the orange bushes that were attacking me.
I pulled out my Greater Ice Sword and dealt a tremendous blow to the Ent. (Ok humor me on this, Im an Invulnerable / Ice Tank and Greater Ice Sword is my highest damage attack, for everyone else it might be a medium damage attack, but for me its High Damage) I followed up with Air Superiority, and frozen fists. Thats when I noticed I was being hit for a lot of damage from some weird looking bushes. They were shooting out toxic spores! I immediately switched targets, and started in on them. I sent out another Frozen Aura, which froze up a few more bushes, and started in on the toxic spewers. The Ent was released from my hold and hit me from behind with a tremendous blow. I ignored it, and froze a toxic spewer in a block of ice, then hit the second one with frozen touch. I ate a purple I was carrying and hit dull pain. I was back to full health and then some.
For some reason the Ent was pissed at me, and hit the ground hard shaking the entire area. A few of the Task Force Beta troops were knocked down, I wasnt knocked down but with all the shaking I found it difficult to aim my blows, and was missing more than I should. I hit Build up again and Frozen Aura, I was unable to get any more of the minions in its grasp but it did keep the ones I had held already frozen a little longer.
I hit the first toxic spewer with another tremendous blow from my Greater Ice Sword, which finished it off. I hit the second one with Frozen Touch again to make sure it was frozen solid, and continued in on it until I finished off.
I then turned my attention back to the Ent; it was starting to annoy me. I dealt it another tremendous blow with Greater Ice Sword, making the entire tree shake. As the tree shook, I noticed that falling leaves were hitting me. Toxic leaves! They werent doing much damage, but it was annoying getting hit by dozens of pinpricks. Every time I hit the Ent more leaves would fall. I was finally able to freeze it again with another combination of Frozen Touch and Block of Ice. When it was frozen in the ice the leaves no longer fell on me. I vowed to keep it frozen until it was dead if I could.
Seemingly out of nowhere, vines attacked me, they would reach out and strike me with some sort of electrical discharge. They had a long reach, and while the damage was noticeable I ignored it in order to finish off the Ent. The Ent had a sliver of life left when 3 vines struck me almost at once. The combined electrical discharge was enough to overcome my defenses and stun me.
The minions I was ignoring were now much more of a threat, they were doing a lot more damage! I popped a break free, and started powering up my armors again. I was down to a sliver of life when dull pain came back up again. I healed myself, and finished powering up my armors just in time to be struck again by that damned Ent! I finished it off with another combination of Air Superiority, Greater Ice Sword, and Frozen Fists.
I hit frozen Aura again and got lucky. I froze 5 of the minion bushes. Thats when I noticed the Ent was still moving. Out of the Ent popped 4 smaller versions of it. Mini Ents if you will. I decided to ignore them and ran up to the base of the nearest vine. Hitting it with frozen touch, I switched targets and hit a second vine with block of ice. I ignored the third vine and started in on the first one. It unfroze on me just as I finished it off. The second vine got free also, but I wasnt worried, because, I had build up and frozen touch ready. I froze it again and was able to freeze the third vine with block of ice. I finished the second vine and started in on the third, I was getting exhausted, luckily I had a blue handy, and ate it. I finished the third vine and then made piece meal of the remaining minions and the Mini Ents. I then did a quick count and realized I still had 83 plants to kill to finish my mission. This is going to be tough. Someone said that if I kill 500 I could get a badge too. I began wondering if the badge was worth it as I headed for the next group of plants. -
The Bases are some distance away from each other. Think one end of the zone to the other (Hollows size or larger). If you don't know, make something or someone up. Contacts names of contacts missions etc... Heck if you think it fits make up anything you like. Treat it like any other PvP zone I guess. As for what the bases look like, think of the base on FBZ. Add a few turrents.
There are several unexplored canyons you can use them for what ever you like, or make them into whatever you would like.

I thought I would start a moon mission thread. Based upon the Moon Hazard Zone I envisioned.
Please feel free to add to or make suggestions to anything.

I stepped into the teleporter. I wasnt sure what to expect. Ive used the teleporters in Paragon City for years, going from one section of the city to another, (usually to the hospitals), but the trips are usually only a few miles. They tell me this trip averages about 238,855 miles, but this trip will be closer to 241,000 miles. Just my luck I get the longer trip.
I watched as the technician activated the teleporter. Usually a trip with a teleporter is instantaneous; you just appear at your destination with no sensation of movement or time having passed. This time was different my awareness changed, I could see and feel energy all around me. I was part of that energy. I could sense I was traveling at great speeds, and I could feel the passage of time. I became aware of movement and half formed images just beyond my perception. Being a hero for all these years has given me a kind of 6th sense where I was always aware when danger was near me. I sensed danger now. I knew something was preparing to attack me. Just as it was about to attack, the world changed. I was suddenly on another telepad. I had made it. I was now on the Moon.
[You have receive the Astronaut Badge]
Suddenly I felt like an Astronaut! I was on the Moon! I thought someone should make a badge for that. I informed the technician of my experience in the teleporter. He laughed and said you heroes and your imagination. No one can feel the sensation of time passing in a teleport. You guys all say the same thing. You Heroes are so paranoid. Do the guys on the other end tell you to say that? Really this joke is getting old. Please go down the hallway. Your contact, Professor Clark, is expecting you. Hes by the entrance
I walked down the corridor looking for Professor Clark; the lighter gravity made every step into a bound I actually hit my head on the ceiling a few times while navigating the corridor.
I spotted Professor Clark by the exit; I went up to speak with him.
Ah, Golden Ace Glad to see you at last stated Professor Clark as I approached. As you know The Mare Vaporum and the surrounding areas contain a breathable atmosphere. We have been unable to determine how this is maintained. But the atmosphere is maintained throughout the Sea of Vapors and even up a few unexplored canyons along the rim. The energies that somehow maintain the atmosphere also seem to Suppress Travel Powers. Sorry Golden Ace it looks like your going to have to hoof it from here. If you get a chance you should speak with the Base Commander, Ms. Helen Konig, and Admiral Tarkin, the Commander of Task Force Beta Im sure they have some tasks that you could help them with.
I stepped outside and attempted to fly. Sure enough I was unable to take off. I hate it when scientists are right about stuff like that. The sky above was full of stars. I had never seen so many stars before. Off to the left just above the rim I could see the earth. It was a beautiful sight. Just ahead and to my left was Admiral Tarkin. I bonded over to speak with him.
Golden Ace! Boy am I glad to see you! Stated Admiral Tarkin. I dont know if you know this or not but Moon Base Beta is slowly being overrun by the local vegetation. Our scientists have determined that the local ecosystem is both terrestrial, and extraterrestrial in origin. In some areas the two differing flora genomes appear to coexist in harmony, while in others the terrestrial and extraterrestrial vegetation are in a constant state of war. These areas are extremely dangerous as the plants are constantly mutating into new and dangerous forms and attack anything that moves. Unfortunately Moon Base Beta is near one of these areas, and is slowly being encroached upon by the hostile plant life. I have Task Force Beta patrolling the encroachment area attempting to curtail the incursion of the hostile foliage. Task Force Beta is slowly being overwhelmed by the local vegetation and any help you can give them is welcomed. [Destroy 100 Plants].
I set out on my fist mission. -

Just why the heck do Stalkers still have the highest toggle drop chance??? Stalkers already have unresisted damage in their criticals.
If any AT should still have high toggle drop percentages it should be defenders who cannot dish out the damage needed to bring down a toggle heavy opponent.
[/ QUOTE ]
agreed. at least make them do the most unresistable damage. -
[ QUOTE ]
This is exactly what everyone has been asking for and exactly what was, in my opinion, very necessary. The chance to drop them is still there! It's just not guaranteed. There should never be one dynamic of a system that is counted on for a chance at success. If toggle dropping was a characters sole chance to be effective, then I think you need to be looking for a bigger problem here.

Great work man, now I can show friends some of the emotes.
I would 5 star you if I could.

you can rate the thread. I did -

The exists of site as it'll probabely continue to go through changes as emotes are added and I tweak it. This thread gives us somewhere to discuss it and help me improve it.
The Guide: http://www.the-swarm.org/Emotes/EmoteGuide.htm
Currently peicing together a set of pages to view the gifs and their associated /em commands 10 at a time. Would also like to add other models performing the emotes (like signature characters), although the making of the emotes gifs is really the slow, time consuming part of the process.

That was awesome mantid!Stars!

Castle this goes a long way toward "Fixing" Tanks in PVP. I might try it again. Quick question though? Can Tanks drop toggles? No Tanks are listed on your post. Tanks do low damage *cough* Ice secondary *cough* too. What are there chances of dropping someones toggles?

And i love the ideagreat work on both concept and background for the zone.

Thank You. -
Nice they get 60% Resistance. Now how about some for Tanks.

I am really confused. What are you guys talking about? It sounds like there are complaints over a single target attack because it is not doing damage to more than one target. If it is a single target attack, shouldn't it only damage one target? Maybe I'm just confused.
[/ QUOTE ]
A little confused. the attack does nothing. It doesn't register as a hit or a miss. it should hit or miss something. -
More info for you castle. I was on a low level defender last night. used a snipe attack. I got no miss or hit confirmation. The power activated and I saw the animation and nothing... Never saw anything like it before. Sounds like a similar problem.

Well, we found (and fixed) a problem with guantlet and destructable objects today. Not sure if that addresses this specific issue, but there it is. One step closer.
[/ QUOTE ]*Sigh* Always one step closer, but never we never cross the finish line. -

It looks like the devs finally figured out how to count to one.
Single target attacks now hit only one target no matter how many you have stacked.
There might be a bug though. A couple times when I had a few stacked up, it would say "Readying attack", but then nothing. No hit, no miss, no nothing. Cone/AoE attacks worked fine there, but single target wouldn't do anything. I'll have to play with it some more and see what's going on.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think I may cry. I'll have QA test it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Awww. We broke him
[/ QUOTE ]lol -
if this is the case there is no need for the anti herd nerfs. What made herding so popular was the stacking bug. un nerf the Aggro cap and Taunt.

Hey Plucky, you told me once that you liked the Underwater Zone ideas too. Why don't you do an underwater zone? I love this zone it's so well thought out and organized. You would do a great job on an underwater zone too.

What on the Moon? -

way to much time your hands

/target_friend_far
Targets the farthest friend. A friend is any friendly player or pet, not just teammates.
/target_friend_near
Targets the nearest friend.
/target_friend_next
Cycles through visible targetable friends in near to far order.
/target_friend_prev
Cycles through visible targetable friends in far to near order. -
I usually set this up in options.
-
agreed. Get rid of the damn toggle dropping then I will PvP but not until. either that or give me the power to shut off someones primary too.

Really nice idea, it seems well planned and thought out as-is...
It would be nice if there were some room for villains on the moon, though. If both heroes and villains had their own anchors there, then some kind of PVP zone could be added... And with giant metal robots coming from Recluse's Victory, then we could enter into a great new era for CoX:
Giant metal robot wars on the moon.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually this was brought up before. Perhaps the 5th column made a deal with lord recluse and villains are using base alpha as their base of operations, while the heroes are using base beta. something to think about.
