Quote:You're getting more content at a consistent rate for your monthly sub then at any iother time in the history of the game.My argument is, "I used to love this game, and I subscribed for seven years because of it. I want to continue subscribing, but I feel I am no longer getting my money's worth.
Quote:Please make the game better, or at least give me the same rewards as those players who have not been so loyal."

Hybrid models are the future of MMOs - new games will launch with hybrid models right from the start, and even WoW will make the switch.
And no matter what type of VIP option they all offer, there'll always be some weeping over its worth. -

A 250mb patch has just gone up on the Beta server, so it's likely that there's up to 245mb of correct English for the Skulls random zone dialog.
EDIT:
Quote:Maybe less than 245mb then[NPC] Gravedigger Slugger: Why you heroes dress so crazy? It makes me want to drown kitten. -
7 free new power sets in 4 Issues is a way faster rate than at any time pre-Freedom.

Quote:On the plus side, for any first time viewers tunign in because it was on the Twitch front page, the screen bombing showed a lot of active players, a selection of the diversity of the costume creator, power sets and emotes, and a friendly and interactive dev team. There were a ton of trolls in the chat stream, which was unfortunate. It's no wonder that some of the other employees, especially the female ones, don't want to be shown on-camera when you have perverted dimwits going crazy because they heard an off-screen woman's voice once.
Props to Hit Streak for keeping his finger on the trigger during the latter portion of the live stream, it made the chat far more tolerable. -

Quote:They sold 2.3 million, 1.7 decied to sub past the first free month, then they fell to 1.3, and the latest statement said they have "well over" 500k - so, assuming that if they had 800-900k they would have phrased it as "almost/close to a million" to sound more impressive and reduce the damage, and they have around 600-700k now, it seems likely that the rate of lost subs is actually speeding up, which would be a good enough reason for them to hit the F2P panic button.Ah, you are right that was three months ago now they are reporting under 1 million. That is more than a 100,000 lost per month...WOW.
I guess John Riccitiello's calling the performance disappointing is an indication of a coming catastrophe...Possibly.
So they are going to try to adopt a F2P model but have no expectations on what the response will be? Hmm, sounds like the proverbial throw it up against the wall and see if it sticks mentality.
I wonder who is going to get the bulk of the blame Bioware or EA? -

Quote:It's not "news" - they didn't mention anythinG about it at all - I'm just trying to think of things that they could do to powers in general that'd count as "mind-blowing"While I will never spend time watching these coffee talks again, this does indeed sound like excellent news and something that would in fact blow this old mind if they did it.

Quote:And some, like Bioware's galactic fanfiction catastrophe, take the concept of failrue to a new levelAgreed. No new game is ever ever as good as whatever hype is attached to it, and it always takes a year or more for a new ongoing game to reach it's stride and get some decent additions to content to flesh it out.

Weeping/raging about Praetoria should have its own catagory.

Maybe they might look at removing rooting when using some/all powers? I think that'd count as "mind-blowing", even if it might need a bit of animation work.
