They're an enemy we're trying to negotiate a peace treaty with to seccure the handover of our territory, so right now, having the safetys off is fine, but fingers should be kept away from triggers.

The framework for this is is already being worked on as an absolute last ditch attempt to continue in a superhero universe if NCSoft refuses to make any compromises at all and holds on to the CoH IP.

Quote:We can also do that over on the Titan Network forums - that's where we're organizing stuff:We can even brainstorm here in the forums for as long as we're able.

If the worst happens, then a lot of this will be recycled in some form.

Quote:Just to be clear, this is a very recent release - this isn't stuff that a few players have been sitting on for years and not sharing with the community.Thank you, Poison, Leandro, and Golden Girl for posting all of this information.
I could wish it had been available more widely, years ago, but I'm not going to rant about it at this point. I'm just grateful that there's no reason to hold this stuff back any more. -
Everything points towards office politics and some kind of internal power struggle or reorganization at NCSoft - like the "CoH friendly" execs who were happy to support the game for all thse years and green light a new MMO from the studio have, because of NCSoft's curent financial state, been removed and replaced by execs looking to make cuts.
-
Yeah, while the "NCSoft sucks!" attiude is understandable when emotions are running high, it's important to remember that this is a totally out of the blue U-turn on their previouly supportive policy towards the game - and they had such confidence in the developers that they even green lit a new MMO from them, so something has clearly happened within NCSoft very recently to make them change that attitude.
-
This is about support and pulicity for out campaign, not donations.

People only need to read the official farewell thread in the announcement section to see that we've got some stories there that are absolute PR gold for our campaign.
-
And even if they hang onto the IP, we can put together another one that would preserve the spirit of the game.
-
In game terms, the AV has insane regen, we've just team wiped, the mission timer is running down, any rez is on a long recharge, and we're all out of Shivans - but the Insps tray isn't quite empty yet, and some of us are going to try popping a few of those before we open the menu and press "Q".
-
This would be an option if NCSoft refuses to be reasonable - but if they also hung on to the IP, then CoH2 would need a new one.
-
Any EMU will attempt to present an as up to date version of CoH as possible.
-
It could also have just been a red name secretly handing them out at the vigils tonight.

The dagger of Jocas reference is pretty epic in the context of some of the recent Incarnate content.

Talking of Crey, in the currently suspended I24, the Brickstown mob revamp set a lot of the Crey mobs to neutral, including one where a Paragon Protector was being shown off to a crown of citizens - and the old mugging spawns had been replaced with Crey agents standing beside a dead body with vague dialog about how the person died, or if they'd been involved or not - there really was a big push to turn Crey into not just another group menacing the streets.
-
That's weird - they're obviously a either a dev, or someone that a dev has given the title to - and as we're all backing Paragon here, but there was only one person with the title, then that could be hinting at something.
-
What were they doing? Just hanging around under the globe, or talking to other players?
-
-
I'm pretty sure that all of us want every single one of them back, but I think that most of us would also understand if any of them didn't want to work with NCSoft again - which is why a buy-out/sale is the ideal option for CoH.
