Let me see if I can clear it up.

Calling someone "over sensitive" is a way of dismissing what they have to say.

The problem is with them, because they are over sensitive, and is therefor not real.

So, yes it does seem to be an insult.

Bottom line, this is a problem. You can tell that it is a problem because we have Ex Libris in here creating threads for us to work out a solution to the problem.

Therefor, while it is certainly your right to come and say that there isn't a problem, its not really the most constructive thing to contribute to the conversation.

What we need is a solution to the problem.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's not dismissing what they're saying - it's helping them find the root of the problem
    (And I did offer a solution )
  2. Ok, own up - who were the six no good, two-timin', WoW-lovin' buffle-heads who chose "Eep it looks bleak"?
  3. Seeing insults where there are none is a good example of being over-sensitive

I agree we can manage ok, but what I'm getting from you is that the problem lies with overly sensitive people and nothing to do with people coming out right and attacking others, is that what you are saying? Like I said fun and games is one thing, attacking someone (and for example so I make myself clear, calling names and attacking a person "you &*&%$ you suck you n00b" and the like is what I am referring too) is not so much a problem with the person being attacked in my eyes as much as it is with the person saying that.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, but you get those types of jerks on all forums - they don't all just come here.

I'd suggest making a speical, carefully modded sub-section for the over-sensitive ones, and leave the normal people to carry on as before.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Why? I really am just curious as to what is so hard about watching what is said a little bit, not taking away from the fun and occasional thread-jacking but the attacks mostly, what is so hard about that?

    [/ QUOTE ]

But as this forum is no different from the ones for the other serrvers, that means the problem is with some of the people here - it's up to them to try and be a little less sensitive - every other server forum manages ok - there's no reason why this one can't.

A "PM to user" button on each person's post. So if you have an off topic comment about a thread/person you can just click the button, fire off the PM and have your say, and the topic stays on topic. Add a quote button to the PMs so you can keep track of a private conversation a bit more easily. Doing these things will let everyone have the conversations they want without derailing the original topic.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm not so sure people would really use that function

Well, if it helps, from now on everytime I make a thread, I will add "dont be afraid to have fun here" next to the title.

And no I'm not being sarcastic and yes I am totally serious.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You'll be able to fit that disclaimer into the allowed title space?
  9. [ QUOTE ]
Because we are the only ones apparently click happy enough to attract attention. We ought to be known as the sensitive side of the forums.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I recommend the mods gather the most sensitve ones here, then take them on a 3-day field study trip to the WoW forums to toughen them up a bit
  10. And another thing - what's the deal with this being only about Protector? I haven't seen a thread like this for any of the other servers.
  11. [ QUOTE ]
? she expressed her opinion in discussion - which is the title of the thread. Thats not allowed now?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, sometimes when people say "discuss" they mean "agree with me"
  12. [ QUOTE ]
Right but they're here none the less.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Here at their own risk
It's impossible for the over-sensitive to be shielded completely on a forum of this size.
  13. [ QUOTE ]

Some people really have some emotions and anxiety tied into posting.

    [/ QUOTE ]

There's also the possibility that some people are just way to sensitive to cope with a large internet forum.
They may be fine in small groups with a similar mentality, but in a place like this, with thousands of people with different opinions and outlooks, who are all passionate about their ideas and beliefs, the super-sensitive types just aren't built to cope.

    Aerones,

Brings up some good points. Cliques. A very natural occurrence.

In some ways I blame the inflexibility of the forums themselves as I personally would love to create a safe place to play for everyone.

What about creating several (safe) threads and see how they can go about in taking shape and form?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think there are a lot of molehills being upgraded to mountain status here...

[*]Using quick reply causes your post to be tagged to the post directly above you, creating a chain of posts, sometimes when you remove a post it will take out a portion of the chain. The best solution is to hit the reply button instead of quick reply, especially directly after a threadjacking. Many innocent and constructive posts get removed for this reason alone.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Personally, * I * didn't know this Ex, and this helped my understanding a lot. Thank you.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I never use the Quick Reply option because of the chance for misunderstanding.
  16. Is this a thread about threads? Or a discussion about discussions?
  17. One-off lead-in comics before each Issue would be a good way to keep the comic idea going.

For any males past the age of breastfeeding, the inside of a breast isn't really important

    [/ QUOTE ]

Uh, I prefer them to be stuffed with what God put in 'em.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I was meaning milk glands, not implants
  19. For any males past the age of breastfeeding, the inside of a breast isn't really important
  20. [ QUOTE ]
Once that's gone, this forum will be all that's left for consistent game-based art content. But no pressure.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I have complete confidence in this forums ability to draw weirdly proporitoned women with huge breasts - I think they can easily take up where the comic left off
  21. I'd suggest doing shorter, one-off comics before each new Issue, with a story that'd tie into the new content of that Issue.
  22. Not sure if I should vote or not - I only play an MA/Regen, so new power sets aren't really a big deal for me

Thanks everyone, its a great honor and privilege to be featured in a comic

Now if I can get the dev team to make a statue of me I will have everything a hero could ask for

    [/ QUOTE ]

What, and not ask for your own personal badge?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think the badge goes on the statue.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, the statue would simnply be a giant badge, it'd be an abstract expression of his innermost being
  24. Well, there's a rumor that if you talk to him long enough, he'll tell you the secret way to earn costume Recupes once per mission
