  1. You should buy a character rename token and name that toon either "Got Knockback?" or "Moar KB Plz". Thats all I have to say about that.

Every toon, regardless of build, should aim for the defense softcap when and if possible. And the OP never posted a question or comment with their build. Do they want a critique of it or are they just showing off? If it's the latter I've got two fire/kins with 6 purple sets each I can post that will likely put yours to shame.

EDIT: after looking at the build I have to ask... is this a joke? 4 slotted brawl/kick/boxing? 6 slotted tactics? srsly? What a waste of slots. And zero damage slotted in hotfeet, which is the bread and butter of your damage output. Drop siphon power in favor of char, 4 slot it and put in basilisks gaze for another 7.5% rech, then do the same for cinders. Slot siphon speed with 3 recharge IOs to ensure its up as much as possible for easy 3 stacking of it. Six slot hotfeet with atleast 3 IOs worth of damage (obliterations are nice).
  3. You never did answer the earlier question of what your build is. If you post your primary/secondary and preferred pool powers it would be much easier for us to make recommendations on how to reach the perma hasten level of recharge. We may even be able to post a mids build laying out exactly how to do so for you. I'm assuming one of your sets is kinetics unless you were just randomly inquiring about siphon speed. Also, post a rough estimate of your overall budget for that toon as the builds we make may be too expensive for you otherwise.

I am not the most knowledgeable about controllers so any tips would be greatly appreciated. If anyone has build suggestions or completed builds for Fire/storm that worked for them, they would also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the help in advanced
The best way to save money on IOing is to not use the max level for that set. If a set maxes at 40 or 50, getting 35s instead will save you millions. Not to mention being far far more exemplar friendly. The performance loss you take from it is also fairly minimal. Example: lets say you're slotting a defense power that gives 12% defense. With level 50 defense only enhances it's something like 25% defense, while a level 40 is 23.2% and a level 35 is around 20 or 21%. Now the important part is these percentages get applied to the BASE value of the power. So with level 50s you'd get 15.06% defense, with 40s you'd get 14.784% and with 35s you'd get approximately 14.4% defense. So the difference between level 50 IOs and level 35s would be less than 1 percentage point overall, and you would get considerable savings from using the lower enhances.

I was actually trying to figure out if it was possible for me to slot my toon for perma-haste, and unfortunatly the result wasnt really good.

Even if i drop about 8 Bil or so; with my current setup i've figured that i could only go up to 178% recharge on Hasten, if im not mistaken to be able to achive perma-haste I will need 205% recharge ??

The second part of my question would be realated to Siphon Speed ,
I am actually trying to figure out how much recharge(%) you are getting from Siphon Speed ?

Also, slotting holds(IO) in Siphon Speed will give me more recharge(%) ?
if not, is there any others enhancements that i can put in to get more recharge(%) ?? (I have 2 slots available in Siphon Speed)
Actually I believe if you 4 slot recharge IOs in hasten you can perma it with around 185% or 190% +rech, and siphon speed gives 20% each so up to 60% total when 3 stacked (if you can get more than 3, I wanna know how). Siphon speed can only have its effects modified by slotting slows, which increases the runspeed/flyspeed buff you get from it; recharge is unaffected. Hope this helps.

Swap psi tornado and mind over body. You'll have better luck with pumping more slots into tornado where they're needed and mind over body can be fairly pimped out just 4 slotted anyway.

WoC only makes that decision harder now as I would like to see how AA + Choking Cloud + WoC + the purple proc would work. Not sure if that would be overkill for area control or not...I might need to do what I always do in these situations and roll them both up.
Your end bar would make baby jesus cry. Even with heavily slotting impervium armors and gift of the ancients.
  8. My main (Godlike, Guardian server) is a Fire/FF/Earth controller, and it was a combo I liked so much that I server transferred his clone (Godiike, capital first i) as a 50 fire/fire/pyre tank elsewhere so I could remake him as the same build. Both are 50 now and tons of fun to play. There have been several occasions where I have outlived the tanks on the team with him. Current build on the main is posted below (yes it was expensive at about 1.3 billion, but so very worth it):

Both versions should softcap you to either smashing/lethal or ranged attacks. I farm with this toon and usually don't even notice when my imps have died, the damage output is pretty fast and heavy. Normal attack chain is cages, flashfire or cinders, then fissure, then cages to repeat as necessary. The force feedback proc in fissure is a beautiful thing. Both builds are made with defense, recharge and +maxend/+recov in mind. The main problem with fire/ff is it burns through the blue bar like it's going out of style. I've tried fire and psi epics also and found them both wanting, more defense from rock armor and a self heal that puts you at hp cap are very very nice for a bubbler.
  9. Godlike_NA

    Plant/Kin build

Decided to try my hand at this as I have one of these also. As my main is a def softcapped fire/force field/stone troller I am a firm believer in the power of defense and focused as much as possible on building that while still keeping recharge and recovery rates as high as possible. I am guessing from your initial post that this is a farm build and thusly meant to be played at 50, hence the fulcrum not being added until 49. Main features of the build are two self heals (one is +maxhp and should hp cap you), 40.5% smashing/lethal defense or 4.5% short of softcap and 23.8% smash/lethal resists for some padding, 212.5% global recharge with +100% more when force feedback proc fires, and 2.96 end/sec recov with 1.46 consumption which isn't bad with transference recharging in 7.64 seconds. You'll notice a lack of control options as this build is more of a brute force setup relying on high defense, two heals and the occasional sleep to manage aggro (11.6 sec rech). To me vines isn't worth the incredibly long recharge on it (240 sec compared to seeds 60 secs or spores 45 secs base). I cut seeds out because spore burst has a shorter recharge by 4 seconds and spirit tree is overkill with two frontloaded self heals. Entangle is pure fluff because I don't consider repel or siphon power worth their animation times. So, here's the build:

You didn't state what your overall budget was, so I am posting the build I would use which could be rather costly. You also didn't specify whether you wanted it as a level 50 build or as a more exemplar friendly one; I assumed you wanted it for level 50, which is why hasten is last. Full disclosure: I have two Earth/Thermals and two Earth/Sonics. The key features here are 40% smashing/lethal defense (5% shy of softcap), two self heals and 110% global recharge which helps you get your holds out faster.

We got to the reactor room and I remember being in other respec TFs and being swarmed by mobs so I was curious how this would go (and how much damage the reactor would take). To my surprise the 'troller had pretty much all the mobs locked down (except for the stragglers that were by the doors/running around) and the reactor barely got touched. This is also the same time/run where I found out you could buff the reactor core (he was bubbling the core heh). I was so surprised at how awesome his toon was at controlling and keeping all of our team safe (and the reactor) with the bubbles....it made me want to make an Earth/FF!

    I have an Earth/Storm that's a lvl 32 on a 2nd account....she's fun too I always liked the combo of Earth/Storm....good stuff!

  13. Okay I'm going to differ from nearly everyone on here and say Force Field. Why? Because the -defense debuffs in stone controls attacks tend to pull aggro all the way from frickin Jupiter. You want to get the attention of every baddie in the zone? Throw some stone cages out and you got it! The +defense of Force Field helps mitigate all that incoming aggro making it bounce harmlessly off of you. Not to mention you have built in mez protection from everything but sleeps from dispersion bubble. I would further recommend Earth Mastery epic for more smashing/lethal defense from rock armor (stacked with maneuvers/CJ/weave and some IOs you should hit softcap easily), a great aoe damage source in fissure (which is beautiful with posi's blast 5 slotted and sixth slot of Force Feedback +rech proc), and for a great self heal in Earths Embrace. My main is Fire/Force Field/Earth and with enough work on the build he can kill almost as fast as a fire/kin but plays like a tank. It is very very good stuff.

My second recommendation would be for a Earth/Cold Dom in issue 16. Animated Stone already has nearly capped resistances, which can be made even closer with sovereign right procs. What it lacks is defense which Cold Dom and Force Field can both provide to round out it's armors and turn it into a real beast. Cold Dom also has good -regen (Benumb) and -resist (Sleet) and aoe +recov (Heat Loss). The only thing it lacks over Rad Emissions and/or Force Field is a self heal on the second and mez protection on the first, both of which can be fixed with epics (stone for heal, psi for mez).

Silence! Do you want to be sued? How bout the devs use their brains and not rip off other peoples ideas? Oh, and make a mind controller, with stacked confuses this is already possible.

Saying "we should have X and Y" isn't nearly as likely to get them as saying "For X you could have power 1 do this... power 2 do this... power 3 do this..., For Y you could have power 1 do this..." etc. Want something implemented? Start posting details. Use existing sets as a framework for what devs might consider putting in play.

Yeah! Awesome! And if the current you dies while the future you is around, a time paradox is created that deletes your entire account! I like this idea!

Srsly though, controlling time in an MMO is about as likely as fish landing on the moon. Play console games if you want to be able to do that.

I picked Earth for my primary as I was on a TF recently with one, and the visuals and sound effects were great! I am loving the sound effects on my own PC as it sounds like the constant rumbling of the earth. Seems like a very fun set. (Any advice?)

Rad? Wow. Like really, wow. My last troller was a /kin and I thought that was something, but this Rad appears to be fantastic. I am really looking forward to picking up some uniques for slotting. Could you fellow Rads tell me about slotting a Regen Tissue in Radiant Aura? What about a Miracle? Is this going to effect myself and the party??
They would only affect you, and would only be "on" for a limited time after using the heal power. It is better to slot them in a passive like health so they are always on.

Two Earth Controllers. I (obviously) love Earth control, but two on the same team can be problems unless they coordinate. If the two are in constant communications, then they can coordinate use of Stalagmites to stun bosses, and avoid using Stone Cages at the same time that the other one is using Earthquake. But without that coordination, you either have to give up using Earthquake or Stone Cages -- two great powers. And Earth controllers add very little damage. Any Earth or Ice controller who has been on a PUG with another controller who spams his/her AoE immobilize knows exactly what I am talkin' about. Fire/Kins are infamous for spamming Fire Cages.
This is untrue. Earthquake doesn't suddenly and magically become worthless when stone cages is used. You still see benefit from it's [10%] -tohit and [10%] -defense and I have seen stone caged baddies still get knocked down before (might have been multiple KBs being used, not sure but I've seen it). The main benefit from earthquake to me isn't the KB anyway, it's that lovely -tohit it puts out, and in the event of multiple earth trollers you'd want stone cages anyway as using more than one earthquake might KB stuff out of the earthquake area. Why bother with coordinating things when not doing so can net you 20% -tohit? Makes hitting the softcap for defense that much easier.

fire/kins are squishy. my main is fire/ff/earth troller and can solo 8 man invincible demons. kills almost as fast as a fire/kin as well the way i have him built, but plays like a tank as he's softcapped. i do have two fire/kins as well, both with six sets of purples in them, but prefer to play my fire/ff's more.

    Farming Tanks

I have 50 invul/fire/pyre, 50 fire/fire/pyre, 50 ice/ss/pyre, 50 wp/ss/earth and 50 sd/ss/pyre. All of them can farm but the fastest killer of them all is sd/ss/pyre. Why? Against All Odds and double stacked Rage puts him at damage cap. Even with only one Rage he's just shy of damage capping, by about 10%. He three shots entire spawns of lieuts with shield charge, footstomp and fireball (damage capped charge is 450-500 damage in one use).
