Great collection Memphis Bill! Will have to look up some of these artists for sure. My wallet hates you. FYI.

Watched ya and put up GQ on my page linking back to you. Thanks again!

Quote:I'm very happy that drawing my character helps with going past your comfort zone. I think the effort in doing so worked out really well!4/10 done, with Goblin Queen being the latest completed. I gotta say, I'm nowhere near as bad at faces as I thought I was
And breaking down the barriers of the comfort zone is a very, very good thing.
Ooo thank you! That looks great. What's your DA account? I want to link it up when I put it up on mine.
Edit - I found it! -
I really like the pencil sketch and the battle scene. I almost participated in that and now wish I had!

I have decided not to destroy you, Caemgen. For now.
Next time you shall not be so fortunate.
<looks at the goblin horde>
I know, it's all subjective. I just LOVE it. There are a few things I didn't love and they're pretty nitpicky. I mainly love all of the shadows (I like Nightmare Before Christmas style stuff), spiders, color, pumpkin, knife, etc. Mister Halloween himself I learned to love in this picture, I'm not sold on the style of work for the clothing, shoes, etc. but the rest was so strong that I find the whole piece to be pure win.
I have a few more scenes in my head with Mister Halloween and his other forms. Look forward to finding different artists for each one. -
Love the latest piece. So grim! Great stuff.

Hi Alpha! Love your line work.
If Goblin Queen interests you here is some reference shots.

Yay! Glad you're back. Been admiring your DA page for some time now!
Here's Goblin Queen if she is lucky enough to inspire you at all.

http://thesteampunker.deviantart.com.../#Goblin-Queen
Here's a wall of text about her if it helps.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Goblin Queen is typically a short, cruel and mischievous goblin. She rules over the Unseelie Courts which include goblins, evil faeries and a smattering of various demons, monsters and undead.
Unlike most goblins, she is very beautiful, almost like a sidhe or elf with a few goblin features. She has the goblin pointy ears, long pointed tail and usually short to medium length green and black dreadlocks or other shorter cut punkish, goth and edgy hairstyles.
The only other constants are that she’s always green and always has some sort of crown on her. The size, shape, material and severity of the crown is changeable. The crown design can change, just let me know what you have in mind before committing to it.
COLORS:
Her personal colors are typically shades of green, gray and black but purple and violet can certainly be included. Her makeup is almost always black but darker greens and some purples aren’t out of the question.
EXPRESSIONS:
Goblin Queen’s facial expressions range from mischievous grins and contemptuous smirks to haughty disdainful glares and dangerous smiles. She can have chilling, flat stares or furious snarls of disgust and anger.
Goblin Queen would almost never look happy unless she was doing something twisted towards someone else, so perhaps a sadistically gleeful or insanely joyful expression could work if the scene calls for it.
SYMBOLS:
Her motifs are skulls, spiders and spider webs, spikes, bats and bat wing shapes, Celtic symbols and other severe, arcane and frightening imagery which is paired with dark metal (steel/iron), black leather and softer gossamer textures, netting and lace. All of the above can be intermixed with the reference shots sent. Meaning a skull themed belt can be used instead of a spike themed belt for example.
She prefers emeralds primarily and then amethysts when it comes to gems and jewelry.
WEAPONS:
Magic and minions are usually her weapons of choice. She can use a dark, evil looking scepter (skull, spiked, etc.) and a whip of green flames (see below for powers).
POSES:
Goblin Queen can be in a variety of poses. Sitting or lounging on a throne, crouching on grave stones or in creepy trees, standing imperially over groveling servants with her arms crossed. She can be casting spells with arcane runes around her hands, summoning demons or animating the dead.
Her tail should be in the art when possible so perhaps it can be peaking up behind her or wrapped around her arm or on some other object/creature. -
Thank you!
It really is the top piece for Mister Halloween. I love it soooo much.
I have a pretty epic piece for Goblin Queen coming too from a different artist. It will be of similar awesomeness. I hope! -
I love the Steampunk look to the crab legs. Well done! Nice arts too.

This piece I'm extremely excited about! It's the piece I wanted to end Mister Halloween's commissions on until next Fall (so I can focus on other characters) and it's the perfect art for that. It was a labor of love with a lot of work from both myself and the artist as there was a lot of back and forth with the feedback and what I wanted the final piece to be. I ended up having to make a few edits on the final image but I don't think I butchered it too bad.
The artist is exceptionally talented and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend her for her talent and for her ability to manage with my constant flow of ideas and requests!
You really need to click on the image and look at the big version to see all the details. The big version is actually still a lot smaller than the final piece but it's as big as deviantART will allow. You can download the full size from there however.

That's an awesome piece! Congrats, Elysienne!

Here are my new Jean Sinclaird pieces.
The Enchanter - I'm going to start ramping up the collection for this character and this is a great new addition to said collection.
Mister Halloween - There was some miscommunication here but it was a happy error in the end. Jean took on one of Mister Halloween's forms - the Mummy. I'll probably get him to do each one of Mister Halloween's forms eventually. There are a lot tho!
For the sake of reference for the Mummy form there is a Halloween lineup here:
-
I agree, they really are vibrant colors. I love how different it is and even tho it's vibrant there are still spiders, bats, skulls and goblins all around!
Quote:Hahaha the little goblin with the wide-eyed look handling her armor cracks me up every time I look at this.
-
Quote:I totally agree. I understand the whole - you're an Incarnate you wield the power of the gods thing but this is a game of customization. It'd be nice to have the option to funnel that power of a god thing in different ways. so let's charge the shuriken with the power of the gods or use the knowledge of the gods to devise a technological or scientific variation of magical nukes from orbit.Personal opinion here, but I think it would be most wise of them to include options that allowed for various takes on that, beyond what you said there and jiving with allowing concepts of greater technological tools at their command.
The lore shouldn't limit things too much... This game's best attribute is its customization and I think it is always best to allow for that as much as possible.
While I get what you're saying, I hope that the Devs put in some options that allow a player's concept to take shape in some other ways that make them happier and fit their chosen concepts.
Why not, right?
EDIT:
Also... while you are building this stuff, CoH Team, try and make these things that have visuals built with Power Customization in mind.
You know that people will want it... So, if you're building something from the ground up, may as well include that aspect! -
-
Very nice piece! Welcome to the Art Addicts Anonymous club!
-
Now for something completely different!
Wolvtrun ran an After Bath special and I figured it'd be a great and unique and fun set up for Goblin Queen. I went a bit crazy and asked for a lot of specifics in my background so I ended up paying more than what the special's rate was going for but I think it was well worth it!
I asked for goblins handing Goblin Queen her armor, wanted a cave scene with skull candles and spiders and bats handing her other bits - a towel and her crown. -
-
*rides in on her little Cthulhu pony*
What? Goblin Queens need to ride in style!

Quote:So awesome!
I'm OK with getting more - in fact I have.. I think two more Halloween pieces still outstanding so they'll be trickling in. :P Thanks again!
