Probably not going to get mush in the way of helpful responses. Probably more than one person will recommend a reroll. I say hold off, as apparently the Devs are looking at Em to make it less sucktacular.

First I'd make sure that they repealed the Nerfs to EM and Regen, and then roll up an Em/Reg brute.

I've been coming back to this thread daily, looking at the interesting arguments and recommendations for change. I'm a long time player myself, and only play toons that I find to be "fun". Yes, I know fun is subjective. I just don't have fun anymore on my EM toons. I have deleted all of them except for two since the changes were made. Not out of spite, but because I needed more slots, and when the choice is spending money, or deleting a toon I haven't played in over 9 months, the choice is simple.
As far as what I'd like to see happen:
1. Increase the damage on whirling hands.
2. Repeal the nerfs *ahem* adjustments to TF and ET.
Will that happen? No, and I know this, but I know that eventually, something will be done, and on that day, hopefully, I can start playing the most fun brute I have ever made. -

Arachnos is another story though, I wouldn't even try that to be comp;etely honest with you, no matter how many insps I had. -
So tank resist, scrapper damage mods, brute damage cap with energy mastery for LBE, and frost breath sound about right?

Thanks Miladys Knight. Unfortunately I wont have time to look at the build in great detail or even play until Sunday. I do appreciate the build though. Hopefully it will give me some good ideas.

Regardless, I finally started picking up the new 52 stuff. In either Issue 2 or 3 of Justice League, Bats makes a call for them to regroup, that the Parademons cant just be mowed over, whereas Flash states that he should tell that to Supes. We then see the Man of Steel dragging a crap load of Parademons with him, then smacking them with a truck.
It made me think of the difference between Neuron and Synapse. Synapse being a blaster, and Neuron being a scrapper. -
I understand that EM isnt really great for AoE. Hell that's one of the reasons that it's such a lackluster set for melee toons.

Yes, I meant S/L def. And Rad/NRG, fits the concept behind the toon better, as does blapping.
As far as what my wife intends to play, she hasn't decided yet. Once I get out of these briefings that I have all day ( Death by Poewr point, YAAAAYY!!!!) I will try to put something together in Mids.
Are there any guides with recommendations as to what powers to pick for rad? -
I'm mostly a melee guy, but am thinking about rolling up a blaster t duo with my wife. Personally I am thinking of Rad/Nrg.
I don't really see many blasters around, and rarely any rad ones.
How is this combo? Is it possible to soft cap, or at least get within a purple Skittle of it? -
The Procs are random.
As far as the Def types, once you have M/R/A soft capped, there is no need for typed def. -
Having gotten my Wm/Sr Scrapper and Fm/Inv Br00t up to 50, I have decided to try out a StJ/SD scrapper.
This being my first /SD toon, I figured I'd better come to the source of all knowledge.
After I get a few basics out of the way, I will work on a build and post it for feedback.
In Street Justice, are there any powers that are skippable? I mean besides confront? I know the combo system is different than DB. Is it necessary take all of the combo builders?
For shield, I remember reading somewhere that it is possible to achieve 95% DDR, but it requires the use of a Hami-O, but which one and which power? -

I knew as soon as I rerolled my 32 Em/Inv to Fm, that they would change Em.

Well, tonight I dropped Marauder, Neuron, and Anti-Matter.
The only one I had an issue with was Anti-Matter. He kept debuffing my defense. After my third death with him, I decided to use some inspirations and take him out. -
So, I went with FM, and after running a crap ton of TF's, I managed to get to 40.
Picked up my first mish from Tina, and she wants me to go beat up a psychic.
Being am Invuln brute made this a little difficult. However, I'm pretty sure I put him down faster than I would have with my Claws/Sr scrapper.
